Yes, the master branch is just what I released as tlf-1.3.1pre last
weekend for testing. So that is ok.

Color handling in ncurses is quite a nightmare, especially as every
terminal emulator interprets the color settings differently. You have
to experiment to find a good solution. But I expect that xterm-256color
accepts .Xressources configuration as xterm itself does.

There was a fix from Stephen K6BSD some weeks ago. Just test it please.

Hi Eric.

I would recommend using xterm since it doesn't trap the F11 key, for
example. I use uxterm (xterm with unicode support) with a custom
~/.Xresources which I have attached. I have defined xterm colors that
work well with Tlf for me. Also, be aware that other terminals often
trap other keyboard sequences used by Tlf.

Another thing is that xterm and ncurses (the UI toolkit Tlf uses) have
the same maintainer so they work well together.

okay, I've installed gnome-terminal, and can reproduce your
problem.

You can prevent this issue with this way:

$ export TERM=xterm
$ tlf ...

but (after few seconds of testing) don't forget to set up your
shortkeys - on my side the F1 opens the help window of
Gnome-terminal... you can disable it at this way:

edit -> settings -> shortkeys (2nd tab from left) -> scroll to
"Help", there is the "F1" -> click to "F1" -> F1 changed to "New
shortcut" -> press "BACKSPACE" -> shortcut changed to "Disabled"

Hope this helps - I'm using hungarian labels :).

(tlf -V)

what you get when you type this command in terminal?

$ echo $TERM

My result:
