Question is that the user id that was logged in was administrator type
account. Also, why it didn't prompt that the action required the prompt for the
permissions like many programs do.
Also, don't know why it wouldn't let the installer create the C:\tn5250j
directory, but opening a regular (non-administrator) would allow for creating
the same directory, and then the installer would continue with the message
that the directory already existed.
Again, that isn't the big issue, since it can be gotten around, but would be
nice if you could just download and run the installer in one step as worked in
XP and before. The issue is with the new keys being mapped with windows
8. Didn't see the issue with Linux, Windows pre 8, and Macs.
Seeing more students with systems with 8.x, and this is the second one that I
have seen with the same issues.
I don't have a W8 machine or access too. Just got new machines in January
replacing the previous 7 year old machines we had. They came with 7, since
the MIS was not prepared to even think of supporting 8. I added Fedora 20,
and use it as the default OS.
