Tomcat-Apache-SSL problem
Hello, I am having a problem accessing my webapps using https protocol. My server conf is: Tomcat 4.0.5 + Apache 1.3.26 + mod_jk 1.2 + mod_ssl https works if I access static pages like https://myhost/manual/index.html, but does not work with my webapp (https://myhost/mywebapp/index.jsp). However, http works with my webapp (http://myhost/mywebapp/index.jsp). I tried mod_jk.so compiled by myself and the one from jakarta website (http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/jk/release/v1.2.0/bin/linux/i386/mod_jk-1.3-eapi.so) with mod_ssl, neither worked. Could someone give me a hint of what's going on, and how to fix this? Re: Tomcat-Apache-SSL problem
David, No, I did not. I am using the auto config file generated by Tomcat from $CATALINA_HOME/conf/jk/workers.properties. In my http.conf, I just have this line: Include /usr/local/tomcat/conf/auto/mod_jk.conf I think that's the reason why the http works but https doesn't work. I looked at the VirtualHost _default_:443 portion of my http.conf, but don't know how to add those paths in there. I tried to paste the content of my $CATALINA_HOME/conf/auto/mod_jk.conf into the virtualhost directory, but it did not work. Would you please give me several simple sample lines? Thanks a lot Assuming you're using VirtualHost, do you specify the right JkMount paths in VirtualHost sections in your Apache that serve the secure port? _ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

How to get remote host inof in Tomcat-Apache combination scenario
When I was using tomcat as standalone server, I just use getRemoteHost() to get client hostname or IP. Now that I am using Tomcat-JK-Apache, this method doesn't work anymore. It returns null for all request. Does anybody know how to get that remote user information again? Re: Tomcat w. JRE?
Without JDK (javac), Tomcat won't be able to compile *.jsp into servlet. So, even if you have all the jsp pages compiled somewhere else and copy them into the work folder, they (jsp) won't get recompiled when updated. Date: Thu, 3 Oct 2002 04:55:10 +0100 Hi everyone, I would like to know if it is possible to run Tomcat on Windows NT with just the Sun JRE 1.4 instead of the full JDK? I really don't want to have to install the full JDK as my server is not really a development machine and the difference in size is quite substantioal. If not, could someone please enlighten me as to why this is not possible? webapp.so building problem -- apxs unworkable
Hello, I am having this problem when trying to build webapp.so for my tomcat4.1.12 to work with apache 1.3.26. I downloaded connector package at http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-4.0/release/v4.1.12/src/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.1.12-src.tar.gz After untar the file, I went into the webapp directory. ./support/buildconf.sh executed fine. When I tried: ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs I got the following: == Configuring WebApp Module + checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu + checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu + checking for sources directory path... /home/gims/files/webapp + checking for build directory path... /home/gims/files/webapp Checking Apache APXS + checking for apxs name... /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs + checking for apxs directory path... /usr/local/apache/bin + checking for apxs... /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs + checking for apxs availability... /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs + checking for apxs version... /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs (1.3) + checking for apxs sanity... error configure: error: apxs is unworkable I could not figure out what's going on. Could any of you help me on this? My system is RH 7.3.
