The WIKI advice is for users who don't use an installer - AFAIK deb file set up things like userids It is not all bad. The re-install proved the issue is not due to installation or LMS version so there is no point in doing a new or reinstallation. Take a break. Leave it for a day and in the meantime I'll try to think of things to test to pinpoint the problem. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110350 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

KeBul wrote: > Yeah, edited my original reply after further investigation found just > that. > > But I think it does prove he's getting clear of his network onto the > WAN. > > Kev My summary understanding of the issue. The user has a Touch and a LMS server on the same LAN. The Touch when connected to mysqueezebox.com can play internet radio. The Touch when connected to LMS cannot play internet radio. LMS server has static IP setup but Touch has a DHCP setup. Both Touch and LMS server have the same gateway IP address - that of the user firewall appliance. Touch can play local music off LMS server. The log file of LMS server shows failed connections to mysqueezebox.com and firmware downloads. Since LMS cannot make connection to internet radio - it looks like an issue with LKMS not being able to connect to internet. The setup used to work (i.e. Touch connected to LMS can play internet radio) but has recently failed. Nothing has changed between working and failure. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110350 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

If firewall is OK - The issue is either DNS resolution or LMS request to internet are not "correct" or cannot find their way to internet gateway. 9090 is only for CLI (command line - control) and again it is an inwards port. Nothing to so with playing or outgoing connections. If you looked at firewall log - would you be able to see the outgoing connection to the internet from LMS and check to see they are correctly formed (i.e. name resolved, destination IP address OK) ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110350 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

If OP removes firewall then they'll have to reconfigure LMS (as it is statically setup), router (to enable DNS and maybe DHCP server) and reboot players so I think that is a last resort. The only device affected is the LMS system so the blockage is in either the LMS system network setup or something in the firewall is blocking the LMS system The firewall should have logging capability so that if it is blocking LMS system - it should report when it blocks an outgoing connection. So I think two pronged approach: check network setup of LMS system and look at firewall log for blocking. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110350 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch

If the firewall is a separate piece of hardware I'd temporarily remove it from the network, then reboot LMS host computer. Seems the only way to determine if firewall device is the issue. knarf wrote: > I dont change the network, when i choose between Mysqueezebox and LMS. > Ill draw you something about my network, to understand When a player uses mysqueezebox.com - the player "talks" to the internet directly without any help from local LMS. So the issue with the LMS system as I assume the player is wholly separate system with its own IP address etc. set up by DHCP. The fact the player work is irrelevant unless it is a squeezelite player running on the same PC as LMS. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110350 ___ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
