[Touch-packages] [Bug 1352251] Re: Splash screen is shown as soon as QGuiApplication is instantiated

2014-11-25 Thread Alberto Mardegan
This bug is still valid: while all the UI interactions involving trust sessions
are working fine (there is no splash screen -- as I believe is correct), there
are still cases where the Online Accounts UI is not invoked within a trust
session, and that's typically when the client process is not a GUI application.
This is the case of scopes and some system services (sync-monitor, and maybe
telepathy in the future).
As I wrote in comment #1, many times even if the OAuth access token is expired,
the cookies are still valid and we might be able to get a new access token
without showing a web page. But we cannot know this in advance: we'll know it
only after loading a webview (and Oxide requires a QGuiApplication) which we'll
keep hidden until either we get redirected to the page where we get the access
token (in which case the user will not see any UI at all) or until it's clear
that we cannot proceed without the user interaction, in which case we can
either show a snap decision or just return an error to the client.

Bug description:
On the phone, a splash screen is shown as soon as QGuiApplication is
instantiated; however, a QWindow might be created much later, or not be created
at all.
We have for example a D-Bus service (ubuntu-system-settings-online-accounts)
which is a QGuiApplication, but creates QWindows only as client requests
arrive. In the common case, this works fine because the service is generally
started when a window needs to be displayed, but we are now preparing for
implementing trust session support, and that would require either this bug to
be fixed, or a deeper refactoring of our code.

Bug description:
The EFI directory on UEFI/GPT installations (/boot/efi) is insecure by
default. It has permissions/mode 0777 (rwx for all). This makes the
directory very vulnerable to tampering. Although it may be possible to
repair damage to this directory externally if the system becomes
unbootable due to such damage, having to do this is undesirable and
usually not easy for most users. Distributions other than Ubuntu may
also be having this issue, I have not checked, but some distributions
enable secure permissions by default (e.g., Fedora). One (or maybe the
only) reason for the default configuration being the way it is may be
that the EFI partition uses a FAT file system. However, enabling a
umask through /etc/fstab as in Fedora, e.g., umask=0077, should make
  it much more secure.

  Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn (x86_64/amd64)

  Expected default configuration:-
A critical system directory such as /boot/efi should be inaccessible to
non-root users by default.

  Actual default configuration:-
The EFI directory /boot/efi is accessible to all users irrespective of the
user account's privileges (permission mode 0777/rwxrwxrwx).

Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1395994] [NEW] UI lags when scrolling through favorited scopes

2014-11-25 Thread Michał Sawicz
 2. ResultsModel::data() seems to be called constantly while scrolling a
scope up and down. I assume this should only be called once per result
item (This doesn't explain the horizontal scrolling lag, but it may
 explain some vertical lag).

That's not exactly right. It will be called for every role*every result
that a delegate is created for. Delegates are recycled and created as
they go out and into view, respectively.

*If* it's called on the same result and same role multiple times, while
the result is constantly in view, that'd be a problem indeed.

Title:
UI lags when scrolling through scopes

Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Some causes ruled out:

  1. OA in scopes can't be to blame as I have tested with and without it
enabled, and with and without it present in the code
  (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scopes-
  api/+bug/1392615/comments/4).

  2. Location can't be blamed either (for the same reasons as above, as
well as removing location service usage from the shell plugin itself).

  3. When profiling the QML and C++ code, I saw no indication that the
shell plugin was doing anything process intensive enough to cause any
hold up. In fact, it seems to be doing a pretty good job handling
calls from the UI thread asynchronously.

  Observations made when profiling unity8:

  1. The QML ListView component updates its current item index when the
next item reaches half-way across the screen (therefore, in mid
animation between scopes). There doesn't look to be any serious
blocking actions taking place during the onIsCurrentChange, setActive,
etc. methods that I could find, but we should keep this in mind.

  2. ResultsModel::data() seems to be called constantly while scrolling
a scope up and down. I assume this should only be called once per
result item (This doesn't explain the horizontal scrolling lag, but it
  may explain some vertical lag).

  3. If you pull down to refresh any scope, then continuously move the
dash left and right, the dash movement is smooth until results start
showing up in the scope, at which point you see a lag as they appear.
The lag observed here is almost definitely the same lag we see when
scrolling through scopes (jittering as results start to pop up in
  scopes as they populate).

(NOTE: All of the above points were observed with and without the
latest unity8 performance fixes in rtm silo 8)

Every time my system goes through a hard shutdown (power outage,

able to resuscitate the audio by reinstalling all the audio drivers,
as suggested on the audio troubleshooting page for the Ubuntu
community. The last time, however, this did not work and I had to
install the latest ppa audio, after which audio came back. Now,
nothing seems to work. I know the sound card and audio systems are
fine--the machine is a dual boot and audio works without problems with
Windows running. Ubuntu 'sees' the sound card, at least according to
sysinfo. But, my sound system settings shows Dummy Output, no
microphone, and no hardware. I'm guessing that something left over
from the hard reboot is blocking the system's access to my audio card,
but can't seem to find anything online with suggestions for a fix.
I'd say the problem is a bug because I'd hope Ubuntu would be robust
  to an occasional hard shutdown.

Title:
  PCI/internal sound card not detected

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Every time my system goes through a hard shutdown (power outage,
forced reboot), my audio stops working on reboot. Usually I've been
able to resuscitate the audio by reinstalling all the audio drivers,
as suggested on the audio troubleshooting page for the Ubuntu

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1288983 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288983

Either #1288983 needs to be made accessible (link above is broken) or
this bug needs to be un-linked as a duplicate.

I'm seeing this problem as well immediately after login.

I'm also on Unity 14.04 and use Kerberos for authentication.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1373808] Re: [UX301LAA, Realtek ALC282, Black Headphone Out, Left] Microphone problem

  problem

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I asked my question on askubuntu.com, and it was suggested that my
problem was a bug, so reporting here.

  According to the specs

my laptop has a Microphone-in/Headphone-out jack.

I also have two different headsets, both of which works just fine as a
headset when used with my phone.

However, Ubuntu doesn't appear to recognize the headset as having a
  microphone.

Under Sound and the Output tab, the only item listed changes from
Speakers Built-in Audio to Headphones Built-in Audio when
  connected.

The input tab shows no reaction at all to the headset being connected.
It lists Microphone Build-in Audio and Analog input Built-in
Audio. Both the input options clearly take audio from the computers
built in microphone, rather the headsets. Tapping the laptop gives
large spikes on the Input level indicator, while tapping the
microphone on the headset gives little to no response.

What can I do to get the headset recognized?

as you can see in the iwlist scan output below i have two APs in my house,
one supporting WPA2 only, the other supporting WPA (enabled for some weird old
wifi HW) and WPA2 ... while nm-applet merges these two into one entry in the
network list on various ubuntu desktop devices here, the phone shows one entry

this behavior should be brought in sync (preferably by making

Bug description:

The popup menu should be displayed higher up than it currently is as
it's getting obscured by your finger that is doing the press and hold

  Steps to reproduce:
  - type some text in the messaging app
  - double tap a word
  - long press on the word

  Expected results:
  - popup menu should be displayed well above the selection so it's not blocked
by finger

  Actual results:
  - popup menu is sometimes not displayed at all, but when it is it's partially
obscured by finger and displayed too low

Bug description:
noticed that i-network is broken on mako. Sometimes after reboot the
indicator says the modem state is either Unknown or No Sim even
  though the SIM is present.

  for now the workarounds are:

If developer mode is not enabled:
   - reboot the phone until you can enter the PIN

  if developer mode is enabled:
  $ adb shell
  $ restart indicator-network

  SUMMARY:
When a PIN lock is applied to the SIM there is no method to unlock the SIM
after rebooting the device.

  STEPS:
  1) With unlocked SIM inserted, enable a PIN lock.
Settings - Security Privacy - SIM PIN
  2) Reboot phone
  3) Swipe down network indicator

  RESULT:
  1) SIM PIN is set successfully
  2) Phone reboots, but there is no SIM PIN prompt displayed during boot. SIM
remains locked.
  3) There is no Unlock option displayed on the network-indicator. Unkown
is displayed for SIM.

  EXPECTED RESULT:
SIM unlock dialog should be displayed during boot. Also SIM unlock option
should exist on network indicator.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1387207] Re: [greeter] strange persistant Enter SIM1 PIN dialog on Greeter

2014-11-25 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
the interesting part is that the full dialog was not shown. Even if
i-network would have crashed after requesting the dialog, unity8 still
should load it and show it fully.

Then again, the dialog would not do anything if i-network is dead, so
the notification-service (unity8) should monitor the snap-decision
invokers and automatically clean up any snap decisions from a d-bus
unique name that loses it's owner.

  Build r133 Krillin

I'm not entirely sure how to reproduce this bug but I try to sum up
the conditions and how the phone was set up before.

  1. Make sure both SIM cards are inserted
  2. SIM1 is locked
  3. reboot device
  4 skip SIM PIN entry

When skipping the SIM PIN entry screen, you can see a small glitch on
the top of the screen. It looks like a dialog/snap but it disappears
  very quickly.

Now, I had my device locked for a while and when I unlocked it via the hard
key button a snap decision appeared on top of the greeter saying Enter SIM
PIN1. It is possible to swipe away the greeter screen but then this is it. You
are basically stuck.
I managed as well to pull down the notifications menu but the snap stayed on
top of that.
It looks like there is there passcode screen in the background and if you
want to return back to the greeter you have to lock/unlock the device with the
hard key button.

Maybe anyone can reproduce this bug or knows what causes it. Please
see attached screenshots for more visual info.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1383855] Re: Inconsistent icons across reboot

2014-11-25 Thread Antti Kaijanmäki
the cog should only be shown if the indicator-service is not running,
but looking at the screenshot the menu is populated just fine, so this
might be a (maybe already fixed bug) in unity8 indicator selector.

I don't think the cog is a very significative icon to convey any
meaning of status for a network; it's more likely to be more
significant to users to display a no-signal icon when we're in a state
where there is no other icon to display (given that indicators need to
  have an icon set).

0.png shows my device before rebooting; after disabling wifi.

Bug description:
Testing image #u122 this morning, I ran into two separate scenarios
where the panel network icon didn't always accurately reflect the
current network technology due to some kind of latency detecting
  network changes ( ie. WiFi - 3G - WiFi ).

Both scenarios were reproduced on mako.

  Scenario 1:

  3G: online
WiFi: enabled; connected to AP 1

  - display network menu
  - tap another secure network
  - tap cancel when Password dialog is displayed

At this point the indicator shows '3G' whereas the network menu still
shows the original AP 1 as connected. After some period of time ( 10s
  - 1m ), the icon will change back to show that WiFi is connected.

  Scenario 2:

  3G: online
  WiFi: connected to AP 1

  - go to System Settings::WiFi
  - click Previous Networks
  - select the currently connected AP/network
  - click Forget Network
  - go back to WiFi settings

The WiFi settings correctly shows the AP is no longer connected,
however again the network icon takes some time ( 10s - 1m ) to reflect
  the change back to 3G.

PIN (reboot device if needed)
  2. after reboot, don't unlock
  3. navigate to System Settings Security Privacy SIM PIN

What you see: A green tick on the toggle next to the SIM PIN and
beneath that a Change PIN... button

What you should see: Some way to unlock the SIM without turning off
  the SIM PIN.

There are three relevant states for a SIM:
  (A) no SIM PIN set
  (B) SIM PIN set, SIM locked
  (C) SIM PIN set, SIM unlocked.

If a SIM PIN is set, when you start up the phone you have the choice
to unlock it (switch from B to C) or not (stay on B).

If you don't unlock it, you can't make or receive calls, send or
receive SMS, or use cellular data in any app. And you probably can't
predict ahead of time whether you'll want to do any of those things.

Currently System Settings only lets you turn the SIM PIN on (A to C)
or off (C to A), not to unlock it. System Settings should let you do
  this too.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityAndPrivacySettings#sim-pin:
Whenever it is locked, at the trailing end should be an 'Unlock…'
  button...

I am building an app for patients, nurses and doctors that is capable
of reading a database and interacting with it, i.e.: modifying it,
having levels of permission so there is no abuses, having changes
recorded as user did this so there's responsibilitiy... In short,
making a hospital work with an app that is in phones, tablets and
desktops. This would require a secure connection and, in some (not to
say many) countries, VPN is needed since HTTPS or other secure
protocols are not supported, but VPN is used in hospitals as the
secure system. Since there is no VPN support, this app will not be
ready to function in a place where only VPN is supported.

This is one of the reasons I think VPN support is important, since
there are applications that require it to be international and secure,
and, without it, this internationalitation would be limited to the
  country's possibilities.

We should provide a patch to add Pantheon to that list.

  [Test Case]

  (1) install the Pantheon desktop sesssion (eg. Elementary OS) and log in
  (2) verify the appropriate indicator (for this case, session indicator)
appears
  (3) install the Unity 7 desktop session and log in
  (4) verify the indicator still appears

  [Regression Potential]

A typo in the modified .desktop file could cause the indicator to not
appear in a Ubuntu session such as Unity 7 or Gnome Flashback.

No standard explanation of why you're offline

Bug description:
When an Ubuntu Touch app tries to use data, but no data connection is
available, there is no user-visible explanation of what is going on or
  how to fix it.

A device might have no data connection because:
  (a) it is in Flight Mode, or
  (b) Wi-Fi is otherwise turned off, or
  (c) there is no cellular data connection, because:
  - the device has no SIM, or
  - it is not connected to a carrier, or
  - cellular data is turned off, or
  - the carrier is refusing data traffic (for example, because you are over
quota), or
  - it is roaming and data roaming is turned off.

(This list is not necessarily complete.)

In cases where immediate connectivity is not vital, an app might
detect that it is not available, and use queued actions or
placeholders. For example, a mail client might store offline messages
that you wanted to send, remember which messages you wanted to delete
and file, and so on. Similarly, a Dash screen that usually returns
online search results might show only offline results, with some sort
of indication that you need to go online for online results to appear.

But where an action absolutely requires connectivity to be useful,
Ubuntu should provide some sort of standard UI explaining why you are
offline and, where possible, explaining what to do to go online.

If this message is modal, probably it should be limited so that it
does not appear more than once before an app is unfocused (whether by
focusing a different app, or the phone locking), and so it does not
appear more than once every five minutes or so.

The design should take into account the Wi-Fi prompt (bug 1287210), so
that there aren't two prompts jostling each other.

UI lags when scrolling through scopes

Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1395748] Re: Crash going back twice while loading a page

I’ve spent some more time investigating the issue, and it looks to me
like it could be a bug in Qt itself. I’ve filed https://bugreports.qt-

confirmation, I’m going to disable the custom favicon image provider to
get rid of the crashes.

Setting as rtm14 with High priority since as an application writer it
is very frustrating not being able to adjust this when using dark
  colors for the theme.

On a possibly related note-- perhaps this is all configurable via
Theme, but I've tried several times to figure out to do it. There
appears to be no documentation on it (and I've mentioned this at least
3 times to people that we need it).

well as removing location service usage from the shell plugin itself).

Another way:

* tap and hold the greeter

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1372448] Re: HP Deskjet D1660 prints but no ink on paper!

this forward. I'm unable to borrow the printer before January.

HP Deskjet D1660 prints but no ink on paper!

Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
HP Deskjet D1660 moves the paper and the head exactly as if it's
printing correctly, but there's no ink on the paper. However it does
work as expected on Windows, so the hardware is ok. Reproduced on
12.04, 14.04, Linux Mint 17 (which is based on 14.04) and even Debian
  7.5.

I hope to borrow the printer from the owner to capture logs etc and
  investigate in more detail.

It's strange that I can find no other reports of such behaviour with
the D1660, though there are other reports of it not working at all and
subsequent success. But bug #521429 describes an identical problem
  with the HP F370 printer.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358762] Re: Included gzip 1.2.4 has several vulnerabilities

2014-11-25 Thread Cs-gon
Will this security vulnerability get fixed at all? I realize that the
impact is pretty small, because someone would have to explicitly use the
gzip binary provided with klibc. But even the new klibc package in
trusty/utopic/vivid still contains the old 1.2.4 version of gzip.

  Check http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/search-
  results?adv_search=truecves=oncpe_version=cpe:/a:gnu:gzip:1.2.4 for
  example.

I explicitly checked for CVE-2001-1228, which was not fixed by a patch
in the klibc package, so I assume the other vulnerabilities are not
  fixed either.

I think it would be a good idea to update the included gzip to a
  current version.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1334916] Re: sshd-ConsoleKit integration patch causes abrupt termination of multichannel sessions

Title:
sshd-ConsoleKit integration patch causes abrupt termination of

Status in “openssh” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Attached to this report is a small app the reproduces the issue by creating
multiple channels within one sessions. (I fist hit this issue using JSCH
library)
Following information is printed to stdout if sshd is launched with -d flags
(I've modified the sshd code to print PIDs next to debug level):
  debug3(7526): monitor_read: checking request 156
  debug3(7526): mm_answer_consolekit_register entering
  debug1(7526): session_by_tty: session 0 tty /dev/pts/1

  debug3(7526): session_unused: session id 2 unused
  debug1(7526): session_new: session 2
  mm_request_receive_expect: read: rtype 157 != type 29

From the log, it looks as if two processes use the same set of pipes
to communicate to the monitor, one of them is sending
  MONITOR_REQ_CONSOLEKIT_REGISTER, while another MONITOR_REQ_PTY, and
because they use same set of pipes, and because both processes use
same pipe FDs, monitor reply is sometimes delivered to the wrong
  process.

I can reproduce the failure 90% of time using attached app, which expects
first argument to be host name, second - login and the third - password, that
are defaulted to ubuntu:ubuntu@localhost:
  $ ./ssh-multisession
  Connecting to localhost...Done!
  Authenticating as ubuntu...Done.
  Starting channel 0
  Starting channel 1
  ssh_channel_request_pty()=-1: Socket error: disconnected
  Starting channel 2
ssh_channel_open_session()=-1: Writing packet: error on socket (or connection
closed): Operation now in progress
  Starting channel 3

The same script works fine if sshd is compiled without consolekit.patch:
  ./ssh-multisession debian-host debian debian
  Connecting to 172.17.162.237...Done!
  Authenticating as debian...Done.
  Starting channel 0
  Starting channel 1
  Starting channel 2
  Starting channel 3
  Starting channel 4
  Starting channel 5
  Starting channel 6
  Starting channel 7
  Starting channel 8
  Starting channel 9

P.S. To compile a test app one needs to have libssh-dev package
  installed on your system.

first argument to be host name, second - login and the third - password, that
are defaulted to ubuntu:ubuntu@localhost:
  $ ./ssh-multisession
  Connecting to localhost...Done!
  Authenticating as ubuntu...Done.
  Starting channel 0
  Starting channel 1
  ssh_channel_request_pty()=-1: Socket error: disconnected
  Starting channel 2
ssh_channel_open_session()=-1: Writing packet: error on socket (or connection
closed): Operation now in progress
  Starting channel 3

The same script works fine if sshd is compiled without consolekit.patch:
  ./ssh-multisession debian-host debian debian
  Connecting to 172.17.162.237...Done!
  Authenticating as debian...Done.
  Starting channel 0
  Starting channel 1
  Starting channel 2
  Starting channel 3
  Starting channel 4
  Starting channel 5
  Starting channel 6
  Starting channel 7
  Starting channel 8
  Starting channel 9

P.S. To compile a test app one needs to have libssh-dev package
  installed on your system.

It's worked around for now (Check that pixmaps which aren't managed by
us actually exist before binding) but a proper fix should be added to
mesa.

the fix consisted of not calling glXBindTexImageEXT when

  XGetGeometry (dpy, pixmap, ...)

returns false.

https://www.opengl.org/registry/specs/EXT/texture_from_pixmap.txt does say that

Currently, only pixmaps can be bound to textures. If draw is not a
valid GLXPixmap, then a GLXBadPixmap error is generated.

so indeed this should be handled better.

This technically is a bug in st/dri though.

Bug description:
Many packages in Ubuntu use the liblcms1 library (source package
lcms). This library is discontinued upstream and replaced by liblcms2.
Due to this, bugs in liblcms1 are not fixed any more upstream and
important improvements in color reproduction and safety against
crashes are not done. Therefore we should remove lcms1 and migrate all
  programs using it to lcms2.

Launchpad doesn't usually scale to track transitions like these. Please see a
tracker instead:

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358762] Re: Included gzip 1.2.4 has several vulnerabilities

2014-11-25 Thread Thorsten Glaser
I have just looked at whether gzip can be replaced by BSD compress(1),
which is a drop-in replacement under a more free licence, but even after
adding fts and a lot of BSD functions it still needs funopen() which
klibc doesn’t have ☹

Status in “klibc” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
The included gzip version is quite old (version 1.2.4) and has several
  security vulnerabilities.

  Check http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/search-
  results?adv_search=truecves=oncpe_version=cpe:/a:gnu:gzip:1.2.4 for
  example.

I explicitly checked for CVE-2001-1228, which was not fixed by a patch
in the klibc package, so I assume the other vulnerabilities are not
  fixed either.

I think it would be a good idea to update the included gzip to a
  current version.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358762] Re: Included gzip 1.2.4 has several vulnerabilities

2014-11-25 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Nevermind. I hacked MirBSD compress to omit the BSD compress method (so
it only does gzip), and replaced a few more things, and got a working
gzip/gunzip under BSD licence.

If there is any interest in the klibc side to include that, be my guest.
Sizes are nice, too (dynamically linked):

tglase@tglase:~/mbsd/src/usr.bin/compress $ size /usr/lib/klibc/bin/gzip
obj/compress
   textdata bss dec hex filename

I explicitly checked for CVE-2001-1228, which was not fixed by a patch

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1377332] Re: [TOPBLOCKER] UI randomly freezes

2014-11-25 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
from 1394919

I tried with cgmanager 0.32-4ubuntu1 and the problem remains.

The following command hangs:
dbus-send --print-reply --address=unix:path=/sys/fs/cgroup/cgmanager/sock
--type=method_call /org/linuxcontainers/cgmanager
org.linuxcontainers.cgmanager0_0.Ping int32:1

The following command:
dbus-send --print-reply --address=unix:path=/sys/fs/cgroup/cgmanager.lower/sock
--type=method_call /org/linuxcontainers/cgmanager
org.linuxcontainers.cgmanager0_0.Ping int32:1
returns:
method return sender=(null sender) - dest=(null destination) reply_serial=1

The system can be recovered by killing cgproxy

Here are all the logs you requested. The first dbus-send command hangs and the
second works.
Perhaps it is a coincidence but the problem seems to be triggered when the

gmail webapp (or maybe any other webapp)

In syslog webapp-container is killed at

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1396162] [NEW] [UbuntuShape] Add image 2D transformation support

2014-11-25 Thread Loïc Molinari
Public bug reported:

Exposing a 2D scale vector and a 2D translation vector would allow the
user to put the image texture in a shape at a precise size and position.
It would also allow to do infinite translation effects, to implement
sliders without the need to overlay another item, to invert images
vertically and/or horizontally, to do pulsing effects, etc.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1396165] [NEW] [UbuntuShape] Colored shapes aren't batched together

2014-11-25 Thread Loïc Molinari

The current UbuntuShape uses a uniform variable to communicate its color

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358762] Re: Included gzip 1.2.4 has several vulnerabilities

2014-11-25 Thread Thorsten Glaser
As I mentioned in IRC: I can probably easily shave another 2½K off .text
by removing stub support for multiple compressors and using the gzopen()
API already shipped by klibc.

Note that klibc bundles zlib 1.2.3 whereas even MirBSD has 1.2.8
already. That would also need updating. But at least, MirBSD compress
uses zlib for gzip I/O instead of bundling its own inflate/deflate
functions as GNU gzip does.

All is 2-clause and 3-clause BSD and MIT licence.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 885324] Re: Completely replace lcms1 by lcms2 in Ubuntu

2014-11-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package xsane - 0.998-6ubuntu1

---
xsane (0.998-6ubuntu1) vivid; urgency=medium

  * Resynchronise with Debian (LP: #885324). Remaining changes:
- debian/patches/pot_desktop_msgid.patch: Add .desktop file Name and
  Comment to the POT.
- debian/control:
+ Depend on firefox instead of iceweasel.
- debian/xsane.desktop:
+ Use generic scanner icon instead of outdated/confusing xsane icon.
+ Modified to match POT changes.

xsane (0.998-6) unstable; urgency=medium

  * QA upload.
  * Update Build-Depends to point to liblcms2-dev instead of liblcms1-dev.
Unfortunately, xsane is not yet ready for liblcms2 so until that is
fixed it will build without LCMS support. This is done so that
#745524 can be reduced to important severity and stay in testing.
