To meet expectations of users from other platforms, it should also silence the keyboard and dialpad sounds, and probably the three beeps which trigger when the other end of a call hangs up. As for music, videos, and alarms, almost all platforms still play audio for those regardless of the silent mode setting. (one exception is the Palm Treo, which used a physical kill switch for sound and thus silenced *everything*) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1384274/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1472585] [NEW] [browser] add support to copy page link to clipboard
Public bug reported: Hello, I am constantly missing url to clipboard feature in webbrowser. It is nice you can finally share the browsed page but an ability co have a link in clipboard so you can write an email with it or post it on social networks is missing. I am not completely sure how to approach this but same problem may apply to other applications as well. It would be awesome if maybe content hub was able to detect if it manages a link (string) and then allow user just to have it in a clipboard. But I am not sure it that is the best approach. Maybe it would be best to have it in the app, allow developers to make a sharing button with content hub / clipboard choice as it is on Android (I suppose). What do you think? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1472585] Re: [browser] add support to copy page link to clipboard
There is already a copy link entry in the contextual menu (long-press on a hyperlink, then tap Copy Link). The link is in the clipboard, and you can paste it in other applications’ text fields (just tested that it works with the messaging app). Note that the functionality itself was broken until recently (see bug #1463435), it is now fixed in the development version and the fix will be part of the next OTA update (next week if everything goes well). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472585 Title: [browser] add support to copy page link to clipboard Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hello, I am constantly missing url to clipboard feature in webbrowser. No, I am not talking about hovering my finger above link, but sharing the currently loaded page, preferably using the menu in the top right corner of the app. There is already a sharing button so it would be nice to include it in it somehow. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1458631] Re: udev: /dev/input/js0 is created but no joystick attached
Thomas Andersen, did this problem not occur in a Ubuntu release prior to Vivid? ** Tags added: wily ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1458631 Title: udev: /dev/input/js0 is created but no joystick attached Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: With ubuntu vivid i see a /dev/input/js0. I do not have a joystick or gamepad attached. This invalid input device cause a game in steam Crypt of the necrodancer to crash during start. The game works fine when I delete it. This appears to be a ubuntu specific bug as it does not show up on fedora 22. It goes away if I unplug the mouse/keyboard usb dongle I use. If I attach a wired keyboard only it does not show up. I tried adding a wired mouse too, but that causes js0 to appear too. The output of udevadm changes depending on what mouse I have attached. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1423796] Re: Unable to mount lvmcache root device at boot time
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Milestone: ubuntu-15.03 = ubuntu-15.07 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to lvm2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1423796 Title: Unable to mount lvmcache root device at boot time Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in lvm2 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm experimenting with Vivid Vervet on a virtual machine and tried a new LVM feature, lvmcache. I made a cache for the root file system, rebuilt the initrd and rebooted the VM. At boot time, the system failed to activate the root LV. After some investigation, I found out, it's because the initrd is missing some essential stuff needed for activating a cached LV. The initrd was missing the dm-cache module. I regenerated the initrd with explicitly listing dm-cache in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules, but the system still can't boot up, because now it is missing the /usr/sbin/cache_check utility. As SSDs are becoming more and more common, I think it will be common to use them as cache for root file systems, thus it is mandatory to make sure that an initrd can mount an lvmcached root device when necessary, preferably without /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and other manual initrd hacking. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Run the sample code 2. Long press to active multiselect mode 3. Press on any checkbox visible while in multiselect mode 4. Now press on that listitem. Notice the following, - Clicking on the listitem toggles the selected property. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1439101] Re: impossible receive MMS any operator on bq aquaris E4.5
I agree that MMS should have some priority: We've been fixing things in separate, more specific, bugs. So, as mentioned in #28, a number of bugs were fixed in ota4. Additionally these bugs: bug #1417976 bug #1444840 Are fixed in ota-5, and will further improve MMS. unfortunately we discovered bug #1471740 quite late in the cycle so it may not make ota-5 (we'll know later in the week). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1472585] Re: [browser] add support to copy page link to clipboard
I see what you mean. In theory the content hub should catter for most use cases (send a link by e-mail or share it with social networks). However there is also a way to just copy it to the clipboard: tap on the address bar, it gets focus and the entire URL is selected, then long press anywhere on the URL, and you get a contextual menu with cut/copy/paste options (like any other text field). It would be awesome if maybe content hub was able to detect if it manages a link (string) and then allow user just to have it in a clipboard. But I am not sure it that is the best approach. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1436330] Re: Network Manager doesn't set metric for local networks any more, causing connection issues
Le 2015-07-03 00:09, Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre a écrit : My understanding was that there would be packet loss all the time without the patches applied, due to packets being sent in a round-robin fashion between two links to the same default gateway. This said, I'm able to reproduce the apparent packet loss, but I say apparent here because it seems to be an issue with ping (or, the kernel does something special, doesn't understand packets coming in to an interface it doesn't expect perhaps), not with the actual packets. I've been able to observe traffic going out to my default gateway and coming back, with no interruption, using tcpdump: sudo tcpdump -i any icmp I don't think at this point we're working with anything different from how it was in Trusty, but just to be on the safe side I'll test that out to confirm we did get the same behavior. I actually use pppoe now as a walk around the problem and my internet connection works fines without network-manager so i remove it. Ghislain Laframboise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436330 Title: Network Manager doesn't set metric for local networks any more, causing connection issues Status in NetworkManager: Fix Released Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in network-manager source package in Vivid: Triaged Bug description: [Impact] NM changed its method of setting routes on systems, and no longer attaches a metric value specific to the type of device being used. These values were used to prioritize connections, so that for example, when connected to both wired and wireless at the same time, wired can be used in priority over wireless without incurring packet loss. Currently, when connected to both wired and wireless are connected to the same subnet, the user may notice connectivity issues since packets are sent in a round-robin fashion over all default routes on the same subnet with the same metric. [Test Case] 1- Connect to a wireless network. 2- Connect to the same network over Ethernet both connections should come up on the same subnet. 3- Make sure there is no packet loss, and that there are specific metric values for each default route, as displayed by 'ip route'. [Regression Potential] Since handling default routes properly involves correcting the behavior for all device types, VPN behavior may change to pick up the default routes in all cases, over a wired connection. It's also possible that a connection pick up the default route when it is not meant to. --- With Vivid, having two connections to the same network subnet is unstable due to missing metrics for local networks. Example: Being connected to 192.168.1.0/24 via both wired and wireless will cause connectivity issues as sent packets hop between the two interfaces. It used to be that this wasn't an issue. I would go between work and home and plug in and my machine would automatically connect to wireless and it would use the lower metric ethernet interface for all communications, while the wlan interface would remain connected but unused. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1472622] [NEW] Unity doesn't update or freezes contents within application window
Public bug reported: When switching between different application windows there is a chance that the contents of a window just freeze. Once such a window is frozen, scrolling or keyboard input seems to work, but you won't see any effect because the window contents are not updated anymore. [Test Case] After printing a job cupsd takes 100% CPU. This does not occur for all users, probably depends on queue type and on timing (computer/network speed). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1468027] Re: change default CJK fonts to Noto CJK
According to the README pdf file (https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source- han-sans/raw/release/SourceHanSansReadMe.pdf) of Adobe Source Han Sans, and the experience within LibreOffice, I have to say that Super OTC file is not well supported in Linux desktop. It is suggested using Regional Subset OTF files in Linux for now; however, that will take us a lot of space to keep all the OTF files. This is what Fedora provides for CN and TW locales, 7 files for about 39.6MB for TW locale and about 58.6MB for CN locale. The other way is to endure the poor support of Super OTC and file related issues to those infected packages. And this will be a hard way for us to go. It will benefit the ecosystem better in the long run, but I don't recommend this way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to ubuntu-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1468027 Title: change default CJK fonts to Noto CJK Status in fonts-noto package in Ubuntu: New Status in language-selector package in Ubuntu: New Status in ubuntu-meta package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: just realize that fonts-noto-cjk is available in the repository, finally its packaged. i don't really know about korean community. However the number I provided matches this format (and I tried it with a +44 and 0044 prefix as well as 0), and I can receive text messages from that number, so it seems like something is mangling the number prior to sending it to the operator.
