[Touch-packages] [Bug 1658027] Re: pkgcache.bin. files fill up drive
[Expired for apt (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to apt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658027 Title: pkgcache.bin. files fill up drive Status in apt package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Hello This seems to be similar to bug 1050779. This occurred on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS. apt-get version 0.8.16 compiled 8 Oct 2014. I have a headless remote webcam server connected via the mobile telephone network. A new file pkgcache.bin.xxxyyy (where xxxyyy are random letters/numbers) is generated each day with the same time stamp (0625 am) and gets added to the /var/cache/apt/ dir. This continues until the entire root partition is full and the server locks up. I understand that this should only happen if apt-get update is run but I don't do that. No one has access to run that command. I do not install any updates on the server once deployed. At present, the server has no connection to the internet, so these files are generated by the software on the server. I receive a daily report emailed from the server. apt-get is not listed as a running process when the report is run at 0730. What is worse is that this problem seems to have started itself. This server has been running since 2014 without issue. It has started to fill up the cache directory in the last 6 months for no obvious reasons. This has caused the server to lock up twice. I am clearing the files with a daily a crontab job to run apt-get clean. I checked the "apt" logs. There are no new entries from when initial installation was done. I have asked for help here : http://askubuntu.com/questions/873241/var-cache-apt-dir-filling-with-daily-pkgcache-bin-xxxyyy-files/873687#873687 without a response. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1658921] Re: NetworkManager does not manage wired connection
Similar to #14, this happened to me doing do-release-upgrade to 17.04 beta after purging gnome3-team ppas. I was able to get internet connection working via some manual hacks I came across, but NetworkManager not working properly meant that Evolution thought I was offline. Finally, after 5 days, discovered this bug and executing touch /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed-devices.conf seems to have fixed things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658921 Title: NetworkManager does not manage wired connection Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: NetworkManager does not manage my wired eth0 connection, no matter how I set /etc/network/interfaces or /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf Using ubuntu 16.04, /etc/network/interfaces only managed lo, and [ifupdown] section of NetworkManager.conf had set managed=false. With these same settings, after upgrading to ubuntu 16.10, eth0 appears as unmanaged in nm-applet. If I modify /etc/network/interfaces and add auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp And set managed=true in NetworkManager.conf [ifupdown] section, eth0 is still unmanaged despite it does get an IP from DHCP server. This is happening in my five computers (two laptops and three desktops). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1575078] Re: [XPS 15 9550, Realtek ALC3266] Headphone jack stops working after a while
I am using Linux xps 4.8.0-45-generic #48~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 24 12:46:56 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux and suspend them resume fixed the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575078 Title: [XPS 15 9550, Realtek ALC3266] Headphone jack stops working after a while Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm experiencing a strange behavior with a headphone jack on my laptop. I have an external audio speaker connected to it. When I disconnect the speaker and reconnect it again it stops working. Even more, laptop audio stops working too. And after the reboot, I don't even see any of the audio devices. I've googled a lot and tried different fixes from forums with no luck. After a while, I've accidentally discovered that putting the laptop to the sleep mode and rebooting system after brings audio back to live. Even more, if speakers were attached during this sleep-reboot procedure, they are starting to work as well. However, after the next reboot speakers are not working again. And if I will plug them out and in - problem with completely missing audio returns. P.S. I'm using laptop-mode-tools package on my laptop. Recovery after hibernation made me believe that it's somehow related. But after uninstalling this package nothing really changed. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1626220] Re: please remove openjpeg
The only thing left here depending on openjpeg is krita on arm64 and armhf. Before zesty, krita was built in the calligra source package but it is now split into its own source package. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1677625] Re: Unity8 allows modal dialogs to be minimized, leave the parent window unoccluded but unresponsive
:D yep, so terminal is installed from here https://launchpad.net/~ci- train-ppa-service/+archive/ubuntu/stable-phone- overlay/?field.series_filter=zesty so this is pretty easy to repoduce, just start the terminal, click on the cogwheel to open the preference window, minimize the preference window, forget about it, now click again on the cogwheel to bring back the preferences window, nothing happnes.. just the content of the main window gets unfocused (not the title bar), so it's not even super obvious what's going on, not try to type some stuff in terminal.. you can't.. it's pretty confusing for me. i've expected that the preferences window sould just unminimize/restore when pressing the cogwheel :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1677625 Title: Unity8 allows modal dialogs to be minimized, leave the parent window unoccluded but unresponsive Status in Canonical System Image: Incomplete Status in Ubuntu Terminal App: Incomplete Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: ubuntu 17.04, terminal app from overlay ppa ubuntu-terminal-app if the preferences window is minimized and you click on the cogwheel it doesn't bring up the preferences window and also you can't type in the terminal anymore it happens to me a lot, i open the preferences window, minimize it and forget about it, then if i click on the cogwheel it doesn't bring up the preferences window and the terminal just loses focus and you can't type in it anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1677625/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Touch-packages] [Bug 1672087] Re: [unity8] app drawer, clicking on "More apps in store" does nothing
Ubuntu personal store will need to be seeded. (see lp:1678249) It will be a bit confusing to have this and the gnome-software store available but not equally represented. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1678187] [NEW] update-initramfs requires more space in /boot when removing a linux-image-extra package
Public bug reported: "dpkg --purge" calls /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools when purging/removing a linux-image-extra package. That calls "update- initramfs -c" which needs significant amount of additional disk space in /boot temporarily. But there is no space left, if /boot is full. The fix could be to create the new initrg.img file in different partition before replacing the old one by it in update-initramfs. So the update-initramfs script should be fixed. A workaround would be to remove the respective /boot/initrd.img- file before running dpkg --purge for the linux-image-extra package. We should consider changing this behavior, especially on expanded mode, the main reason being it's quite disruptive if you want to download a file and continue to browse. In expanded mode, all of the tabs get obscured by the Downloads header and page and you have to use the back arrow to get back to the tabs. Couple of possible options: 1. In expanded mode, don't switch to page but instead show some sort of download icon while it's in progress, possibly next to the drawer icon or in the tab bar if there is room. Clicking on it would bring you to the downloads page. Note there is already a download indicator in the top system toolbar but it's not super obvious, especially on a large screen. Might be better for app to display it in addition.. 2.
