After the person who SMS me or call me end the call, or send the SMS I received a notification that I have a missed call or missed SMS, that I never heard. The problem is that this is my main phone, and one of the call was from my boss and I was not answering him at the right moment. After a reboot everthing was ok. I have Ubuntu on my laptop, I can help you with logs with adb, if I receive the right instructions in solving this bug. Also I can help you with more informations. Please ask me... After OTA-11 I dont get SMS sound notifications. For calls everything is ok. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1589263] Re: Xorg freeze
I didnt install any third party kernel. I had downloaded from Ubuntu repo as my touchscreen was not working. I was suggested to download from Ubuntu official repo, not from any arbitrary source and exactly I had done that. And it got updated after that from Ubuntu updates. Previously I was told to download latest kernel from Ubuntu repo and I did that. And you are saying unsupported? Can you please give me exact downloadable links of kernel? [Touch-packages] [Bug 1588349] Re: Checking for updates never finishes on 3G
@Pat just tried this once again, it actually took 9-10 minutes to show "Software is up to date" on 3G (started at 17:23, showed at around 17:33). Maybe something to do with the data connection! But I noticed earlier, if there are updates available, it lists them after 2-3 seconds on the same data connection. Also before and after this update check I opened browser, facebook app, hangups app etc. All are working fine, not super slow or something like that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to qtbase-opensource-src in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588349 Title: Checking for updates never finishes on 3G Status in Canonical System Image: Incomplete Status in qtbase-opensource-src package in Ubuntu: New Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: If I'm using wi-fi and go to settings and then select updates, "Checking for updates..." screen appears with a spinner for a few seconds; if there is any update available it shows, otherwise informs about the unavailability of updates. But while using mobile data (3G/H) *if there is no update available*, it gets stuck on the "Checking for updates..." screen and the spinner keeps spinning. I waited as long as 10-15 minutes. Note: If there is an update available then the behaviour is normal, i.e. shows the available update(s) after a few seconds. I'm seeing this behaviour from the very beginning (OTA-6 days). Also changing all sorts of settings in the indicator has happened a couple of times already. The solution would be to enable the proximity sensor while on the lockscreen (not only during notifications, but in general) and not actually turning the screen on if the sensor is covered. One could argue that the home button should not wake up the device, however, I'm also testing the fingerprint reader and just pressing the home button with my thumb to wake up the device and directly unlock it, is the best thing ever. If we'd disable the home button from waking up the device, it would require me to first press the button on the side, and then move the finger down to the home button to unlock it, which breaks the awesomeness of the fingerprint reader. So we should keep the home button enabled, but as proposed above, take the proximity sensor into use to prevent the accidental pocket presses. Also, in the future we might want to wake up the screen by double- tapping on it, which again would require the proximity sensor to guard the situation. At least 50 per cent of the time when I want to scroll up or down the page using my index finger, the phone reacts by following a link below my finger where I start the swiping/scrolling. To me it seems like Ubuntu interprets a gesture as a tap way too early. If you want to try, visit a page like msn.com, yahoo news or spiegel.de and try to just scroll the page without accidentally following any of the links to the full article or some ad. This is really annoying for me as I constantly need to go back and retry my scrolling. Feels like the phone does what it wants instead of doing what I want. I suspect this is just a question of a few additional milliseconds more to wait if a touch gesture is a swipe or a tap. I am quite sure this is not (only) my fault, because I owned an iPhone and an Android tablet and very rarely expereinced similar problems. After updating to OTA-9 the Today scope sometimes cuts the day date icon in half and the scope is out of alignment with gaps between some sections. Please see screen capture attached. This is random and changes when you refresh the scope, but does not clear the problem. If I then use settings to remove the (untick Day info) , then add it again the problem is resolved. As a general comment, the Today scope is still very, plus other issues such as , slow to update, random results, fixed position for items selected so you cant put your high priority items such as news near the top. No option to add background picture (as every other OS does and all main stream users will expect this) As this is the main information scope for the phone I would have thought it should be given a lot of attention improving the performance etc (refresh is still painfully slow even on a fast internet connection). When you loose wifi and have no 3G the Today scope can be almost blank when switching the phone out of sleep or turning it on. I wonder if you could at least save all the previous data from the last wifi connection and show that as I don’t think your typical Android or apple user will accept a blank main screen. The today scope should also have custom backgrounds, these could then be used for all scopes if selected. Anyway sorry for going on and thanks for fixing the camera pinch to zoom (fine now on the MX4). I know its a thankless task and us users don’t help, I wish I could but I more of a hardware man. That gave us an opportunity for example to leave the meeting room with a silent ringing phone, without having to reject the incoming connection, answering it as well as making the phone silent for all future messages, calls etc. I find the way it works today a little bit primitive that I have to make the phone silent and then again increase the volume. Just imagine You have to do it 5-10-20 times on a meeting or everyday at work: volume down, volume up; volume down, volume up; volume down, volume up... It does not make fun and I miss my 5140, 5500 or e52 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1573960/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Here's how to reproduce: 1. go to apps scope 2. scroll down to bottom (or at least till the first few rows go out of the screen) 3. scroll SLIGHTLY up so that the header with the search option (magnifying glass icon) appears 4. search for something 5. press the back button to get back to apps scope 6. scroll down through the app list 7. pull and release to refresh 8. scroll down through the app list again 9. search for something again expected to happen: nothing weird happened instead: at step 4. the app icon(s) appearing in the search result have their top cut off https://launchpadlibrarian.net/235945153/screenshot20160201_195047392.png at step 5. now the apps in the top row of apps scope also have their top cut off https://launchpadlibrarian.net/235945187/screenshot20160201_195056867.png at step 6. still top row has top cut off at step 7. still top row has top cut off at step 8. normality is restored at step 9. same tops getting cut off as in step 4. Device: bq Aquaris E5 HD, Ubuntu 15.04 (OTA-9) NOTE: I was having the opposite kinda issue (one extra blank row before actual results and in apps scope, see Bug #1539606) previously but it's apparently gone after restarting the device once. Toggling between Silent Mode and normal mode from the indicator menu is NOT reproducing the issue consistently as I said in comment #16 and #19 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544477 Title: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch) Status in Canonical System Image: Confirmed Status in media-hub package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I noticed for last 2-3 days there is no sound notification for a new SMS, but there's a blinking green LED notification. Also in the indicator menu the envelope icon turns green and the new SMS is listed as usual. Things are working alright for Telegram, Gmail etc. (sound+LED+indicator menu). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1544477] Re: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch)
Here's the media-hub.log file when there's no sound alert for new SMS. Sound alert for new Telegram message is working fine. Also I wanted to mention another fact in case it turns out helpful. Even when the sound alert is working for SMSs, new Telegram message alert is significantly louder than new SMS alert although both play the same tone (chosen in System Settings > Sound > Message received). ** Attachment added: "media-hub log file when there's no sound alert for new SMS" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/media-hub/+bug/1544477/+attachment/4582130/+files/media-hub.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544477 Title: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch) Status in Canonical System Image: Confirmed Status in media-hub package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I noticed for last 2-3 days there is no sound notification for a new SMS, but there's a blinking green LED notification.
