[Touch-packages] [Bug 1872802] Re: Resizing any window will randomly result in graphics corruption for a fraction of a second (in Xorg sessions)
It's only as a test. Does a Wayland session avoid this bug? I know other people have said it does in the past but they are no longer experiencing problems and it would be most useful to have an answer from the original reporter. > I've tried this before commenting last time and it had way worse > performance with the desktop itself. For example the dash would > take a minute or so to load all the icons. Please open a new bug about that or it's unlikely to be investigated and fixed. Although check to see if it is bug 1874578 first. > Also applications like OBS, Discord and Teams have issues with > recording and/or streaming, so I have to stay on X. That's due to missing support for PipeWire in those apps, required for screen capturing in Wayland sessions. OBS has a fix coming in version 27 for example (bug 1838967). [Touch-packages] [Bug 1872802] Re: Resizing any window will randomly result in graphics corruption for a fraction of a second (in Xorg sessions)
I tried to install both, Ubuntu 20.04.2 lts and pop_os 20.04, this glitch when resizing is the only problem I can't fix. Both were fresh installations so i assume it is present and I couldn't find a solution other than to enable wayland. I don't know how to change GRUB_DEFAULT_LINUX or disable a device that crashes the laptop (I can disable it with xinput and then no problem). That's why I haven't changed to wayland. But the bug is still there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872802 Title: Resizing any window will randomly result in graphics corruption for a fraction of a second (in Xorg sessions) Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in mesa package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When resizing any window in any direction the window can appear glitchy as presented in the screenshot. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1872802] Re: Resizing any window will randomly result in graphics corruption for a fraction of a second (in Xorg sessions)
I haven't seen this problem happen for a couple of months so suspect it should have been closed already for Ubuntu. For PopOS, that is usually on slightly different package versions so we can't track bugs for that here. Happens to me in a razer blade stealth (late 2016) Intel UHD Graphics 620.
