[Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
Hello David, I tried to reproduce the crash you were having by upgrading from 21.10 to 22.04 then adding keys followed by slogin and didn't receive an error. I'm using a Raspberry Pi 4GB too. Is the command still failing for you even though the diagnostic dump doesn't show up anymore? If so you may still be able to report the error. Check if there is a slogin crash in /var/crash/ with the extension .crash. If it exists you can send the issue with: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/[crash name].crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968876 Title: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: openssh 1:8.9p1-3 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE raspberry pi 4. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
I have been having the same problem without the involvement of git. Raspberry Pi 4, 4GB, upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 from 21.10. Same commands worked with 21.10 that fail with 22.04. Boot machine. Login, and this starts an agent, but I'm not sure if it's actually ssh-agent or if it's the Gnome version. Open terminal window. add keys to the agent using ssh-add. Open another terminal window and try to use slogin to another machine. Get the eerror message. The very first time it happened a popup appeared about the ssh-agent crashing and asking if I wanted to send a diagnostic dump to Ububtu. I dis. Didn't get asked this subsequent times. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968876 Title: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: openssh 1:8.9p1-3 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE raspberry pi 4. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
Found more specific terms of the problem. I have the keepassxc password manager version 2.7.1 compiled from source, it stores the keys and it adds them to ssh-agent, under such conditions this error appears. The problem arose only after updating openssh to 8.9p1 and only on arm. With version 8.8p1 it continues to work, but on PC it also works with 8.9p1. If you put the keys in the .ssh folder, then everything works, it stopped working only in conjunction with keepassxc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968876 Title: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: openssh 1:8.9p1-3 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE raspberry pi 4. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
I tried reproducing the issue on a Rpi4, cloning a repository via ssh using pubkey authentication with a rsa2048 key stored in ssh-agent, it worked fine. If you believe there's actually a bug here please provide some steps we can follow to reproduce the issue from a clean Jammy system, and we'll look into this again. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
I don't really know what's going on with the agent, I just assumed it crashes. I found out that the agent stops working only when the repository is cloned, when connected to the server by key, it works well. The problem concerns only the arm platform, because I don’t see this on x86_64. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968876 Title: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: openssh 1:8.9p1-3 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE raspberry pi 4. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1968876] Re: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused
Hello testpi and thanks for this bug report. Can you reproduce this issue from a fresh install on the Raspberry, and attempting a simple ssh login instead of a git clone? Something on these lines: - ssh-keygen cp ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub ~/.ssh/authorized_keys killall ssh-agent || true eval $(ssh-agent) ssh-add ssh localhost - I'll try to reproduce this issue myself but I don't have access to a Rpi4 at the moment, but I should have soon. As we're waiting for more information here I'm marking this report as Incomplete for now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968876 Title: ssh-agent: Error connecting to agent: Connection refused Status in openssh package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: openssh 1:8.9p1-3 Architecture: arm64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: MATE raspberry pi 4.
