[Trac] Re: trac install on dreamhost problems

2009-03-13 Thread Jordan

Quick response; use DreamyTrac, it's relatively straight-forward. Follow any of
the online tutorials for DT (this is the one we
used: http://www.petarmaric.com/entry/2008/aug/22/trac-dreamhost-install/),
and make sure to add the following to your conf file if you're using ht
authentication:

[Trac] Adding an index of Wiki pages on the left navigation pane

2009-03-13 Thread Radha Krishna Srimanthula
Hi,
Currently, the left navigation pane on my Trac setup shows the following
entries under Wiki: IndexByDate, CamelCase, InterMapTxt, InterTrac,
InterWiki, PageTemplates, RecentChanges,Sandbox,
TitleIndex,TracAccessibility.

I'd like to customize this menu to have an index, preferably a tree view, of
the wiki pages my team has created.

How do I go about customizing this menu?

[Trac] svn commit list per ticket

2009-03-13 Thread Laurent F.

Hello,

Maybe this as already been requested but let me ask:

At each svn commit we can reference one or several trac tickets using
the #number. This is great !
How can we get the reverse table ? that is for each ticket, listing
all builds referencing this ticket.

I did not found any Trac Plugin or SVN hook on this.

Thanks

Laurent

[Trac] memory usage with trac 0.11

2009-03-13 Thread mich...@medin.name

Hello,

I recently (about a month or so ago) upgraded to from trac 0.11 to
trac 0.11 and memory usage has gone through the roof. I have tried
using various configuration options but cant get the memory usage
down...

I run the trac site on a VPS machine with 256Mb or RAM which was fine
(mod_python) before but now (at the moment I use tracd) the process
easily consumes several hundred Mb of RAM which is, as you can
understand, less then ideal.

The main question is are there any ways to reduce the memory footprint
or do I need go out hunting for another framework to use?

I never tried, but I don't see why it could not be done.
It would help if you could copy 'n paste the actual error ;-)

2009-03-13 Thread Emmanuel Blot

How can we get the reverse table ? that is for each ticket, listing
 all builds referencing this ticket.

Did you mean listing all commits? (builds ??)

The default commit hook script adds a comment to the targeted ticket, such as
(In [6485]) Refs #1044. Fix up remaining issue ...

so when you browse the comments of a ticket, you get automatic links
back to the originator changeset.

Is that what you're looking for ?

That's one of the drawback of using Genshi (in replacement of
ClearSilver): the memory footprint is higher, and there is little you
can do to reduce this. Trac 0.11 can run with 256MB - I manage to run
it on a QNAP device that is powered with an ARMv5 CPU :-) but AFAICT
you'll need more memory to run Trac and make it snappy.

Also, are you using the SVN bindings? If so, which version?
I think it can make a difference if you go with 1.5.x, as one memory
leak has been fixed there.

Also, please use the latest released Trac version (0.11.3).
If you can, also consider upgrading to Python 2.6, this should make a
difference.

[Trac] Re: preserve line breaks plugin ?

2009-03-13 Thread Thomas Vriet

(of course [[BR]] works :)

But my question is : is there a way to avoid typing [[BR]] at the end of each
line. For instance when you copy-paste a text with multiple linebreaks, trac
won't
consider these linebreaks.

best,
Thomas

[Trac] Re: preserve line breaks plugin ?

2009-03-13 Thread Thomas Vriet

If i remember correctly, this {{{ }}} trick works for small sentences only.
If a line is longer than the screen then you can't see it, you'll have to move
the
horizontal scrollbar to the right.

What I would like to know is if it's possible to have the whole trac to behave
like a common text editor regarding the linebreaks.

best,
Thomas

[Trac] Re: svn commit list per ticket

2009-03-13 Thread Emmanuel Blot

I don't understand how to do this very well ... is it documented in
 detail somewhere in cyberspace-land ?

I don't know how/if/where the commit hook scripts in the /contrib
directory are documented.
However, AFAIR, it's quite easy to understand how to use them if your
read the comment lines located at the top of the scripts.

(I use my own ones that have been derivated 4 years ago from these
contributed scripts).

Cheers,
Manu

[Trac] Previous next button in ticket

2009-03-13 Thread patrick

Hi,

Is it possible to add the Previous ticket, Next ticket navigation link
also at the bottom of a ticket view.
When we have long ticket pages and want to browse to the next ticket,
we have to scroll up, which is
unhandy.

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

Or like Blogger posts editor ... In this case both behaviors are
possible and people can switch between one or the other by
checking/unchecking a lovely check box (i.e. a bool option) ... Oh my!
I love all those tiny beatiful checkboxes ... ;)

For example, this is helpful when some text has been copied and pasted

Have you already tried WYSIWYG editor ... It probably does this

Let us know if it worked ... Good luck !

PD: Please don't create the ticket if you 'r not actually reporting an

about granting TICKET_CREATE perms to anonymous users ... and maybe
I'll remove that soon ... ;)

Set the path to your authz file in your trac.ini. Check the TracIni
