Re: [Trisquel-users] VS Code is free software?
Using a thread that has nothing to do with systemd to publicly shame a systemd developer doesn't strike me as a very nice thing to do. How would you like it if on some forum about, I don't know, turkey sausages, some random guy was linking to your posts on the Trisquel forums and making fun of you for them? Incidentally, that person would likely get a warning and have his post deleted; most forums have a policy against bringing in drama from other websites/forums.
Re: [Trisquel-users] VS Code is free software?
Man, you need to chill out, I was only saying that they should have locked the thread or left it open to everyone. geez, and stop telling me what to do man, you are not my master. ps, in trisquel you are correct, no threads related to systemd problems, but in others you don't know for sure as they could have been immediately locked. I am only going to tell you this once, enjoy systemd if you like it, but stop flaming people who disagree with you. Such arrogance...
[Trisquel-users] Re : Abrowser won't save zoom level
I have just tried: the zoom level was properly restored here.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Fresh install without erasing data of external drive
I am talking about the manual partitioning in Trisquel's graphical installer, yes. I believe it detected by itself the type of the filesystem, XFS, that I wanted mounted at /home. The installer needs that piece of information to write /etc/fstab. However, it was quite some time ago (before Trisquel 8's official release) and, again, my /home is encrypted with ecryptfs, not LVM.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Fresh install without erasing data of external drive
Assuming you did manual partitioning, did you have to select the partition type ?
[Trisquel-users] Abrowser won't save zoom level
I've just installed Trisquel 8, Abrowser won't save zoom level for each page, it discards them once the web page is closed, for example, I open Wikipedia, I zoom in 150%, I close then reopen a new Wikipedia tab, I find my zoom level reseted to default (100%). This issue doesn't exist in Firefox, Icecat, or (Trisquel 7)'s Abrowser. Can anyone confirm? I believe this issue is really annoying for people with weak eyesight, who constantly need to zoom in. Respectfully
Re: [Trisquel-users] Is Java installable in Trisquel 8?
Thanks for the reply. When I try to "sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre" it fails to get the needed packages. It says that failed to get the packages. I am using "http://mirrors.serverhost.ro/trisquel/packages; I can install most stuff fine from repos. But not this.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Login screen with different wallpapers
Thanks Apparently I don't have systemsettings5 installed. Also, I would not change the login manager to get this effect, I just thought it was possible to obtain it by changing some simple configuration. Thanks anyway. How can I know which login manager I have installed and running right now? Thanks.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Errors when I update packages
Amazing! Thanks for share it with us ^_^
Re: [Trisquel-users] Errors when I update packages
I've solved the problem. I've changed the mirrors to https://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel/ thanks!
Re: [Trisquel-users] Errors when I update packages
That mirror is down. Switch to a different one. See: https://trisquel.info/en/forum/weird-output-when-trying-update This seems to be affecting a lot of people. Can we expect this mirror to go back up? If not, is there a fix other than telling users one-at-a-time how to switch to a different mirror when they ask the forum why they can't update? signature.asc Description: PGP signature

[Trisquel-users] Errors when I update packages
Hello everyone, I'm having a problem when I do "sudo apt-get update". About https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/5644 : The issue that was fixed the day the day after it was reported (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/ab883125704b9310dcdfcf7451a27e85609da76c) and improved the day after thanks to Lennart Poeterring, who proposed a better fix (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/5653#issuecomment-290346072); Lennart Poeterring is talking about UNIX, not GNU/Linux, and he is right about UNIX's behavior; yet, weeks after the issue was fixed, haters made his life miserable (don't they ave anything more productive to do?) writing that "for some people it's advisable to never miss a chance to stay silent. (...) Way to highlight how little consideration is being given to issues reported by systemd users. Bodes well for the whole project!.." (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/5644#issuecomment-294384461) or "shocking to hear. no, and you REALLY should know that as many others do or AT LEAST test it before pretend such nonsense - frankly" (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/5644#issuecomment-294414802). You were already given this reply. https://trisquel.info/forum/fsf-adds-pureos-list-endorsed-gnulinux-distributions?page=1#comment-125187 for instance. Please, do not resume derailing threads that have nothing to do with systemd. By the way, since the release of Trisquel 8 (which adopted systemd), I have seen no thread pertaining to problems with systemd. The same basically happened with all major GNU/Linux distributions, which adopted systemd years before Trisquel.

Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Server
> I use gnome-boxes on top of qemu-kvm for simple virtualization on Trisquel. Looks cool, never heard of this one before. Will certainly give this a go for Local DE Virtualisation. It may not be suitable for a headless instance, managed remotely via SSH or other. Headless qemu-kvm sounds like a goer, but I am not currently familiar. Will likely have a tinker on the new machine prior to making the jump. > https://sfconservancy.org/blog/2016/feb/25/zfs-and-linux/ Interesting, I was not aware of this issue. Switching over completely to the Libre Server may take a little longer than planned with a disk management change thrown in! > I've never used it myself, but I think that's the idea. > https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/using-netinstall-image-bootable-usb-drive I seem to be having problems getting this to boot. Dropped onto a USB using dd as with the normal and lite Trisquel images, no joy. Anyone that has used this version with success, could you please provide some tips? Thanks for all your help and responses thus far!
Re: [Trisquel-users] YouTube search appears to work without Javascript
I enabled everything in uMatrix EXCEPT "Script". Still a YouTube bar at the top with a blank gray page.
