Try $ killall compton $ compton -f --backend glx and if that fixes the problem then change the line in your i3 config file to exec compton -f --backend glx to make the change permanent. > I'll try and Make the compton fork, thanks! Re: [Trisquel-users] Multimedia keys on Trisquel with i3
I am using compton already with this line in i3 config file exec compton -f but occasionally seeing slight visual glitches when new windows are opening/closing such as blank white areas on transparent windows for a split second. I'll try and Make the compton fork, thanks!

Re: [Trisquel-users] boot-up USB memory card not working ...
Seems like compatibility issue with the USB storage media. I tried many portable HDDs, flash disks and card readers on coreboot, and found only a small portion of such devices work with coreboot. Maybe you can invite your friends to try their USB storage devices and see which can be recognized by libreboot and then buy the proven working models? Note: this compatibility issue was quite common when USB 3.x was initially introduced. I wanted to create a USB 3.0 live disk, but only succeeded in booting from it after a long trial and error process. Many of the USB storage media I tested weren't recognized by BIOS, or even caused the POST fail.

[Trisquel-users] boot-up USB memory card not working ...
Hi, I have a librebooted Thinkpad T400 laptop computer and I can't seem to get it to boot from USB memory. I've tried to run and install a fresh OS on this computer a few times over the two years or so that I've had it. I have probably tried creating those USB drives on both Windows and Trisquel Mini over the course of that time so I think that the problem (?) might be with my computer or my actions rather than my bootable Trisquel USB memory card. Help! M

However, I have no tried installing any apps there. > FSF's mirror of Trisquel's repository is apparently down. Hopefully temporally. If you do not want to wait more for updates, change the mirror again. I have tried several mirrors. If you haven't already, you might want to set up compton as a compositor. If you are experiencing any screen tearing in i3 this should fix it. You can also configure some cosmetic effects like opacity and shadows. I use this fork[1] of compton which allows for some additional animations.[2] [1] https://github.com/BlackCapCoder/compton [2] https://invidio.us/watch?v=eKwPkiACqF0 signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Hm. It looks like Ubuntu is still packaged in Ubuntu as of 18.04,[1] and Lubuntu did not switch from LXDE to LXQt until 18.10,[2] so we should be able to use LXDE for Trisquel Mini 9 if we want to, but for Trisquel Mini 10+ that might no longer be an option. Re: [Trisquel-users] Trisquel Unstable?
as far as I know, LXDE and LXQt are separate desktops. Maybe LXDE is no longer actively developed, but it's still separate.

FSF's mirror of Trisquel's repository is apparently down. Hopefully temporally. If you do not want to wait more for updates, change the mirror again.
[Trisquel-users] Re : Trisquel Unstable?
In the longer term, most Razor-qt components will fully be integrated into the LXDE-Qt and both teams will focus on the same project. Looking further ahead, the GTK version of LXDE will be dropped and all efforts will be focused on the Qt port. https://blog.lxde.org/2013/07/22/the-future-of-razor-and-lxde-qt/ (notice the date) LXDE-Qt was then rename LXQt: https://blog.lxde.org/2014/04/27/the-first-alpha-release-of-lxde-qt-or-lxqt-is-in-preparation/
Re: [Trisquel-users] New member
Hi, i will do it. Thank you :)
Re: [Trisquel-users] [apt error] Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NOSPLIT' (does the network require authentication?)
Have you tried booting into a live-trisquel environment to test if it would work for you there?
Re: [Trisquel-users] Multimedia keys on Trisquel with i3
That did it :) I copy pasted the default options for making gaps in/out +/- and all is working well! Might take me a week or two to get the setup to a point where I'm satisfied, but I'll be sure to post on the share your desktop thread.
