...I didn't see that there were other versions of the add-on for download. ;)
Thanks a lot for the link, it worked, now I have my calendar back. :)

I've tried that before but to be sure I tried again with the link you've
provided: I've downloaded the XPI and tried to install it in Icedove via
"Install Add-on from File". Unfortunately still the same problem: I get the
error message "Lightning could not be installed because it is not compatible
with Icedove 60.9.0.".

No, neither calendar nor lightning are listed under "Extensions". I used to
have the icon in the upper right corner to switch to calendar. But that is
gone since lightning got disabled for the recent Icedove version.

[Trisquel-users] Cannot install iceowl-extension

2020-01-06 Thread damaddin

Hi all!

After the recent update to Icedove 60.9.0 in Trisquel, the Lightning add-on
became disabled. So I tried to install iceowl-extension through apt, but that
doesn't work because of not resolvable lightning dependency.

How can I install iceowl or get the calendar back in Icedove?
Thanks in advance! :)

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was traveling. Thanks, Magic Banana, the
manual download method worked. Problem solved. :)

No, it seems I don't have these buttons. See screenshot:

Lightning doesn't show up under Add-ons either, if that helps in any way.

Thanks Magic Banana, installation of the CardBook add-on worked! :)

I just checked and the package "xul-ext-lightning" was already installed.
Maybe I'm just missing something very obvious here, but how do I access the
calendar in Icedove then? I cannot find an entry like "Calendar" or similar
in the burger menu...

[Trisquel-users] How connect to Nextcloud Calendar & Contacts with Icedove?

2019-03-12 Thread damaddin

Hello all,

I'm using Icedove on Trisquel 8 and would like to integrate my calendar and
contacts on Nextcloud with it. My preferred way on other linux distros with
Thunderbird was to simply use Lightning and install the CardBook add-on, but
I found no (obvious) way of installing these calendar and address book
add-ons in Trisquel.

So I'd be happy to get hints from you about how to achieve this.

Cheers & thanks in advance!

Perfect! Downloading und building from the source of unar 1.10 from here did
the trick. Thanks a lot! :)

That was my initial approach, but as described in my original post, I did not
succeed in installing the current version of unar. Any hint on how to do
that?

Btw, as I'm new to this forum two little off topic questions: How can I quote
and how can I format text as code?

Thanks for the hint, I just tried that: I uninstalled unrar-free via synaptic
and opened the RAR archive through the file manager. Unfortunately Archive
Manager cannot open the file.

p7zip doesn't work ("unknown suffix -- ignored"). Tried 7za then, but no
success here either ("Error: Can not open file as archive").

[Trisquel-users] How unpack RAR v5 in Trisquel 7?

2018-04-11 Thread damaddin
I'm trying to unpack a RAR archive in Trisquel 7. I assume it is the current
RAR format version 5.

I'v tried both unrar-free and unar. The former reports back...

"unknown archive type, only plain RAR 2.0 supported(normal and solid
archives), SFX and Volumes are NOT supported!"

...while the output of the latter is:

   "Couldn't recognize the archive format."

Then I tried to install the debian Stretch package of the current version of
unar (unar_1.10.1-1+b1_amd64.deb) which should be able to handle RAR v5.
Using gdebi, it refused to install, stating unmet dependency:
libgnustep-base1.24 (>=1.24.7)

I'm running out of ideas. How can I unpack a RAR v5 archive?
Thanks in advance for your help.
