Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
I'm not sure. It shows up in the list for me. I guess you can try purging and reinstalling ibus-anthy; it can't hurt.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
Found the solution in another site: Had to type ibus-daemon -d in Terminal to start it. I must have done that when I had it working before, but probably was reset after upgrading Trisquel.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
Install the ibus-anthy package, then under Region Language/Input Sources, add Japanese (Anthy).
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
I got it working. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I think I only had to install the Japanese language package.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
It's the ibus-anthy package, not just the regular language pack. I had exactly the same problem with old versions of Trisquel. Honestly, I think it would be nice if Anthy was installed by default, but oh well. The solution is very simple.
Re: [Trisquel-users] Can't type in Japanese anymore
I already have the ibus-anthy package. I checked with synaptic. I installed it when I had the previous version of Trisquel. The problem is that under input sources I don't get the option for Japanese (Anthy). The options I get are: Japanese, Japanese (Dvorak), Japanese (Kana), Japanese (Kana 86), Japanese (Macintosh), Japanese (OADG 109A), Japanese (PC-98xx Series). I tried with normal Japanese and Japanese (Kana) but it doesn't work. I remember having the option for Japanese (Anthy) before the upgrade. What would you recommend for me to do? Uninstall the ibus-anthy package and reinstall again? or am I missing something?
