Re: Diagram Drafts

2006-07-21 Thread Simon Laws

Hi Rick

I tried to put together all the diagrams I had seen and spin up a version of
the new site layout. Unfortunately my mail describing this took 7 hours to
either get out of our local systems or be reflected by the Apache mail list.
So apologies if we have overlapped. The work is attached to this JIRA (
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TUSCANY-568). I think Pete was
applying it.

Regards

Simon

Re: Diagram Drafts

2006-07-20 Thread Venkata Krishnan

David, this looks a really very nice arial view :-)

I agree that the DAS, SDO and Tools blocks should not overlay the core and
hosting platform blocks.

Now, if you look the diagram, it gives an impression of one huge middleware
that encapsulates all sorts of containers. The aspect of being able to
'integrate' distributed systems is not so evident. We need to probably
think about positioning the 'extensions' differently to bring this point
out. The intention is, when a person sees the picture he must get an idea
of where he is going to be able to use this. Makes sense?

Thanks.

Hi Rick

Thanks for helping, I'm working on the class diagrams and will be sending
some more clean update by sometime tomorrow and that would be more
situable for representing DAS. The only think I still wanted some help was
to get the little DAS diagram available on my draft in the same model as the

 a text only one :)

I have a proposal for the DAS content on the attached DAS overview.zip

I'd need some help on updating the diagram using the same tool David is
using, as it looks like MAC only...

And I'll build the object diagram for DAS to be part of the DAS
Overview
 as well...

 Thanks
 - Luciano

By the way is this the general idea what people had in mind what this

Re: Diagram Drafts

2006-07-19 Thread Jim Marino

These look nice. A couple of comments:

1. For extensions, can we include Spring as that has a lot of
widespread appeal and is something we are actively working on?
2. Is there a way to make the ancillary technologies such as DAS, SDO
and Tooling fit outside the core runtime, as they are not embedded?
Perhaps having something that shows them being plugged in, maybe as
extensions?
