The John Palmer newsmagazine was "Instant Recall." Here's a clip:

It used clips to look back on the current date in history. The Decades 
series "Through the Decades" now uses the same concept.

In Philadelphia, at 9 am, it was Phil Donahue on the ever-dominant ABC 
station, and a series of local talk shows on WCAU (then the CBS affiliate) 
- The Jane Whitney Show, etc. On KYW (then with NBC), I'm not sure... it 
was a Group W/Westinghouse station, so I know they carried "Hour Magazine" 
with Gary Collins, but I think that didn't run until 11 am or so.

Thanks. I guess I could check to see if they'd already won Pulitzers when 
they appeared on SNL.

As far as hosts, somebody on Facebook answered the question for me: 
apparently the only other one is Jimmy Breslin, who won a Pulitzer for 
Commentary in April 1986, and co-hosted (with Marvin Hagler!) on May 17, 
1986.

And whatever is being planned Trump-wise for the new episode seems to be under 
wraps.  Which is a 180 from last week.  A small part of me thinks Baldwin could 
make it *really* uncomfortable.  Even painful to watch in a different way than 
SNL can be painful to watch.

It occurred to me that Lin-Manuel Miranda's gig tonight may be the first 
time a Pulitzer Prize winner has ever hosted SNL. 
I know Roger Ebert appeared on the show a few times in skits, but he never 
hosted.
