[U2] U2UG Elections Looming

2011-02-25 Thread Brian Leach
All

The International U2 User Group (U2UG) elections for the new board will be
launching next week.

For those who do not know, the U2UG looks after this email list, as well as
providing advice, papers, knowledge base articles, a wiki and running many
other projects to benefit the U2 community. The board meet with Rocket
every fortnight to represent the concerns of the U2 community and to discuss
the direction of the products. Board members give up a lot of their time for
free.

So we need your support.

If you are already a U2UG member, please visit the website over the next few
days to make sure that your email address and profile are up to date!
Otherwise you won't receive the mails giving your election voice and your
chance to vote - and keeping you in touch with the work that the U2UG are
undertaking on your behalf.

If you are not already a U2UG member, we urge you to join and make full use
of us! It's free - just sign up on www.u2ug.org.

Thank you

Brian

[U2] [AD] [BlueFinity] Webinar: Seamlessly Transfer MultiValue Data into SQLServer

2011-02-25 Thread David Peters Bluefinity
Seamlessly Transfer Data into SQL Server from Any Major MultiValue
Database with BlueFinity's mv.SSIS!

Microsoft SQL Server has a sophisticated tool set called SQL Server
Integration Services (SSIS) which provides a rich environment for
developers to define how external data is to be imported into an SQL
database. SSIS is a graphical based tool which runs inside Visual
Studio and allows data importing activities (termed 'data

transformations') to be built for purposes such as data mining, data
migration, reporting and OLAP (OnLine Analytical Processing).

BlueFinity International's mv.SSIS product allows data to be read from
any major MultiValue database directly (with no intermediate file

processing) into the SSIS environment. This opens up the entire SQL
Server set of tools and utilities to MultiValue database users.

mv.SSIS allows the functionality of the standard drag-and-drop SSIS
transformation design environment to be used to create powerful and
flexible data transfer definitions. This promotes rapid and error- free
transformation creation and leverages existing SSIS skills and
knowledge.

- Easy to learn and use - no programming needed

- We do the MultiValue integration leaving you to develop the SSIS
packages

- Deploy developed and tested SSIS packages on to your live system

- Bulk data transfers and delta-data update functionality supplied

- Excellent performance

- Multi-value and sub-value data normalization handled automatically

- All MultiValue databases supported

BlueFinity will demonstrate how to create a simple SSIS transformation
to move MultiValue data into MS SQL Server using mv.SSIS in a free
webinar on Tuesday, March 1st. Both UK and USA times available.

Reserve your space today at

Re: [U2] [UV] XML Parser

2011-02-25 Thread Symeon Breen
You still need to be careful, we use the udt xml processing extensively in a
couple of my companies, both on redhat. We have had issues, esp with utf-8
encoding and large files. However since udt just uses the available redhat
libxml library, many other tools are also faulty as they also use that
library. Hopefully your pearl/python comes with a new rebuild xml library.

Thanks to everyone who offered their suggestions. The xpath

looks promising for my needs.

Can someone recommend an XML parser to run on RHEL? I'm tired of
fighting trying to get the XML support in BASIC to work. Any
suggestions?

Thanks.

There is a single indexed field in this record, but I allow for null

Re: [U2] Friendfeed and U2 EDA similarities

2011-02-25 Thread DavidJMurray (mvdbs.com)

I am putting the finishing touches to a py2ic package using ctypes to
interface to intercall.

I want to include unit testing due to the multiple platforms, but unit
testing in python is new to me, so I'm just pottering along and learning as
I go.

When I'm finished, I was going to have a look at a F-Correlative interpreter
in python, but maybe a EDA to PostgreSQL using python might be more
interesting.
