It is only a simple emulator, but it works for us.

So we are using SB+ on our install and when using the terminal app SB
oesn't let you in because it needs VT220 support which apparently
erminal.app doesn't support. iTerm will work if you create a profile
sing VT220 and if SB asks which emulator to use you will have to
nter VT220 manually instead of the default. I just set this up on a new
ac for a user and it seems to work fine but time will tell.
I may try the WINE path using wine bottler to save having to pay
or crossover.

Yes. Parallels only runs on the Intel Macs. For the PowerPC Macs the option was
VirtualPC. (Before Microsoft acquired it. Don't know if they kept it available
for Mac after that.) It was slow, but for the most part worked.

How new are the Macs? Does parallels only run on the new Intel Macs?
(Sorry, I don't use a Mac, don't know when the switchover was. But there

We've ran SBClient successfully using Parallels on Mac. We've also installed

As do I, with SBClient in coherence mode it is pretty much indistinguishable
from a native Mac app. Just the buttons in the top right not top left.

2010-03-18 Thread George Gallen
I wonder if wintergate/accuterm would work under Parallels?

Parallels will virtualize the apple, so you can install windows
(or migrate an existing PC), once done, you can run pretty
much any windows PC while still running os x.

Parallels for 1 PC is under 100.00

You will need from what I understand at least 2gb memory,
4gb better.

>From my experience, running one parallel program along with osx
isn't too bad, however, running two (from two different virtual
PC's) will slow the system down pretty good.

We use "Terminal" - Built into the OS. Check Applications -> Utilities
-> Terminal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Terminal)

It is only a simple emulator, but it works for us.

Yo no habla citrix but I can strongly endorse Accuterm. Once you get past
all of the expected emulator stuff you WILL fall in love with the GUI
designer for creating VB-style forms on top of any MV database. It's a whole
new world of programming accomplishments with putting many separate
green-screen business concepts on one place that becomes more intuitive.

Shameless endorsement,
