Perhaps we could work on a mood board for the video together and then you could include that in the blog post by way of setting out a challenge for people? I really like what PiTiVi has accomplished to date but improvements lag behind other products such as OpenShot and Kdenlive. IMO Ubuntu needs a robust video editor targeted to not professionally trained individuals. I decided to give the OpenShot video editor a test by remixing the Ubuntu promotional video to some music and adding intro and exit sequences. After changing the theme to be less MAC I was very comfortable with the interface and pleased with the power. The additional sequences were created in GIMP and Inkscape.
