[Bug 62300] Re: [Edgy] fonts are not displayed in GTK1 applications
I don't see a bug here. If this can be fixed by undoing some changes to a config file then we need to find out what package or software (if any) is modifying the config file to a broken state in the first place. If modifying paths in xorg.conf fixes it, then this bug needs to be refiled against the relevant xorg package. If someone can provide a set of steps for reproducing it that would be great, I can't reproduce the bug here. Martin Jürgens wrote: I solved it deleting some configuration files, which I excepted not to be existent on normal installations ( I used some gtk1 configuration tools, among these a gtk1 font changing tool). Can you provide some more details about which tools and what changes you made? Re: [Bug 35741] Re: Wrong module directory used when loading i915_dri.so ?
this happened to me as well. but, if i uninstall the nvidia-glx package, then i do have 3D accel working with the i965 card. beryl does not working with xinerama, though. so it seems as if the nvidia-glx package interferes with the acceleration for the i965 card. [Bug 79160] Re: Ubuntu Dapper screen saver crashes X server
I was running Ubuntu 6.06LTS with the nvidia driver from their package NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9629-pkg1.run. Xorg 7.0.0 crashed whenever OpenGL was used (e.g. glxgears, glxinfo). Replacing the driver nvidia with nv in /etc/xorg.conf fixed the crashes (but of course removed hardware accelerated OpenGL). I'll try a newer driver when there's time ... hope my information helped a little. The Graphics card is a GeForce 7600GS. [Bug 83423] NFSv4/krb5 - auxiliary groups are ignored
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nfs-common I use Dapper on server and i want to use NFSv4/krb5. I found that server ignore auxiliary groups. Only UID and primary GID. I also found some patches, maybe not for this version: http://linux-nfs.org/pipermail/nfsv4/2005-August/002412.html Is it posible to use nfs-common from EdgyEft in Dapper or is here any other way to solve this bug in Dapper? [Bug 82143] Re: Add main-accepted Voikko packages to a seed, language-support-fi should depend on Voikko spellchecking libraries in 7.04
Meanwhile... we've discussed on the Voikko mailing list (http ://hunspell-fi.org/mailman/listinfo/devel_hunspell-fi.org) about the other language-support-fi dependencies as well. wfinnish, aspell-fi and myspell-fi should be removed from the dependencies. tmispell-voikko replaces wfinnish completely. aspell-fi has no direct replacement, though some programs are starting to support and prefer libenchant and its Voikko plugin (like Abiword) instead. aspell-fi is however currently responsible of underlining every other word in Gaim, because of the poor quality of spell-checking. myspell-fi interferes with openoffice.org-voikko, requiring often manual settings in OOo to use the better quality spell-checking. Then again it removes spell- checking from Thunderbird, but again the quality of myspell-fi spellchecking is so low that people should probably seek to install it themselves if they really know that they want it. Otherwise it is probably more of a disturbance. -- Add main-accepted Voikko packages to a seed, language-support-fi should depend on Voikko spellchecking libraries in 7.04 https://launchpad.net/bugs/82143 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

so it seems as if the nvidia-glx package interferes with the acceleration for the i965 card. Yes, this was my conclusion also.
