[Bug 132445] Piding' window won't scale
Public bug reported: As I currently run Gutsy my Gnome and Xfce DE are getting unstable at times. When they are unusable, I fall back to ION3 as my WM. ION3 uses different approach in dealing with windows and makes every application window open in full width and height. After using Piding in ION3 I went back to Gnome and noticed I can not scale my Piding window. I can scale it in Y axis, while when it comes to width, I can scale it only by 20-30px. Re: [Bug 131418] Re: Open Office Write styles do not work OK
Hi Jürgen, first it would be helpful to know, which version of Ubuntu and OpenOffice.org you are using. The next question is, if you used another version of OpenOffice.org before, where this bug did not occur. I've never had a similar problem with OpenOffice.org Writer, neither on Linux nor Windows. Are you using consequently styles like Heading 1-3 and so on (in German: Überschrift 1-3 etc.)? And how do you enable the numbering for your headings? Are you using the Option Tools-Outline Numbering (in German: Extras-Kapitelnummerierung) (the right way for getting headings numbered properly) or are you using e.g. the context- menu-entry to enable it for each new heading? Regards, Gert -- Open Office Write styles do not work OK https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131418 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Hi, Gert, and thanks for your answer. I have Ubuntu 7.04 and Openoffice 2.2. (the newest). I have had the problem both in Windows and in Linux. I use consequntly different headings, usually 3 or 4 levels (Heading 1-4, Otsikko 1-4 in Finnish). I have activated the numbering from Tools - Outline Numbering. I have chosen the levels to match the styles (i.e. level 1 - heading 1, level 2, heading 2 etc.) From Format(?) - Bullets and Numbers(?) I have chosen the correct form, i.e. 1 - 1.1 - 1.1.1 - instead of, for instance, 1. -a) - b) etc. It still happens that when I put a heading level 2 in chapter number 4, I get 1.1 and 1.2 etc instead of 4.1 and 4.2 etc. Jürgen __ Wippies-vallankumous on täällä! [Bug 96676] Re: [feisty] function keys don't work in gnome-terminal
I just found out that the problem does *NOT* appear with konsole. Checking a bit deeper, it uses TERM=linux - setting TERM=xterm here breaks a few things again. The other way round (setting TERM=linux in a xterm session) is not helpful at all. Side-effect of TERM=linux is that you lose mouse support (at least as far as Midnight Commander is affected). So you have the choice of mouse XOR keyboard working fine. @Thomas Dickey: If you could send me the affected termcap files (and say where they belong to), I would try to replace mine (after a backup). If that solves the issue, we at least know how to work around the bug until it's solved (which I guess will not happen that soon - to be honest, I would even be surprised if it was solved in Gutsy). -- [feisty] function keys don't work in gnome-terminal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96676 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Because the used USB ID is only used for OEM products. These have been sold widely in germany too by ISPs. The patch works fine, just AVM did not offically release drivers for it. [Bug 132455] new deskbar applet release lacks tracker integration
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: deskbar-applet The new release of deskbar applet, aside from drastically changing its UI (for the worse it seems as well, as seen here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465658 and here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/deskbar-applet/+bug/131446 ), broke tracker integration. Deskbar used to, so long as tracker was present (and since it is on by default in gutsy, it would always be present) return live search results using tracker index, as well as provide a was to search your string/term with the tracker-search-tool. Now that deskbar has been updated, the way extensions are written has changed, meaning all old extensions, such as the tracker one, need to be re-written. I'm just amazed a change this big went down this close to the gnome UI freeze. ** Affects: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- new deskbar applet release lacks tracker integration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132455 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 125832] Re: [gutsy] orinoco_cs.ko missing
I have an Orinoco Gold card that is also affected by the lack of the orinoco_cs. It is produced by Lucent Technologies, and so is not supported by hostap. While hostap may be the better choice for some Prism chipsets, removing orinoco_cs clearly breaks things for a lot of others. -- [gutsy] orinoco_cs.ko missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125832 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 131446] Re: [gutsy]Deskbar results appears in a window
One more vote for the old style. If Gnome won't make the old-style a preference that Ubuntu can set by default, then perhaps a fork is justified. Either way, do NOT add deskbar by default if it will be using this new style, it ruins the desktop experience. -- [gutsy]Deskbar results appears in a window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131446 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 132457] USB storage left mounted when hibernating
Public bug reported: If hibernating a machine with an USB storage device attached and mounted, and then accidentally or otherwise disconnecting the storage device, there is an announcement about that after starting the machine up again. There is also a warning about possible data loss. I suggest that suspending or hibernating the machine would sync and freeze USB storage devices. This would minimize the damage done by an unsafe removal, and would possibly even allow the reinserting of an accidentally removed device soon after resuming. In cases when the device is physically gone, and no files were logically open on the device, i.e. it was only mounted, this syncing would allow the safe late unmounting of the device. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- USB storage left mounted when hibernating https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132457 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
