[Bug 123569] Re: [GUTSY] firefox crashed on dialog windows
I reported on a bug #128185. I had the exact same problems you are experiencing, and didn't see this bug when I searched for mine. Actually my crash appeared in Thunderbird first, opening a new window for a new message. Probably since it was first app I ran. Here is what I did. I was looking into past bugs and came upon bug #45008. I remember that I just downloaded a bunch of themes thru Art Manager, to try them out. I was using Aluminum-Alloy-Volcanic, and then all these crashes started happening. Just for the heck of it, I switched back to the Human default theme, and everything works ok. [Bug 107766] Re: system-config-printer adds menu item the same as gnome-cups-manager's menu item
I would vote for Martin' solution. Just giving them different names doesn't really solve the issue. I did do a fresh install of Tribe 2, but have been updating ever since. When we update from Feisty, we will also have two different administration programs. It's not just that their name is equal. [Bug 130832] Re: nvidia-glx installation is broken after reboot
Problem resolved by: remove all of linux-restricted-modules*, nvidia* with --purge install envy - use envy to install nvidia-glx - use envy to remove nvidia-glx - use envy to clean-up all ATI and Nvidia installations remove envy install linux-restricted-modules-generic* first, then install nvidia-glx All now works. Things that made it hard were (hoping this might help somebody else): - after about a dozen attempts and reboots, realising that the latest kernel (2.6.20-16) does not work with current ubuntu provided nvidia-glx, so had to revert to 2.6.20-15. - remembering to install linux-restricted-modules BEFORE nvidia-glx, because nvidia-glx drags in the -386 stuff instead of the -generic stuff. Why? Thanks to Sitsofe and Alberto, and I owe Alberto an apology - envy is very verbose, you can see what's going on, my issue now is it installs about a million other packages than the ones you get if you go the ubuntu way, and I don't want to do that whenever I change kernel. [Bug 132650] Sony Laptop doesn't shut down
Public bug reported: Experienced bug in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 - installed from alternate herd 4 / Laptop: Sony Vaio Model: VGN-S5HP When trying to shut the notebook down, it stops the shutdown process with saying "[numbers.numbers Power down]". [Bug 50430] Re: NIS has problems starting before the network comes up
One thing that just occurred to me, could this be caused by interoperability issues between NetworkManager and the specific NIC driver being used (tg3 in my case), as in this report of a similar problem which was fixed by switching drivers: https://bugs.launchpad.net /network-manager/+bug/38586 -- NIS has problems starting before the network comes up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
