[Bug 156561] Re: Enigmail does not cache passphrase anymore
I've got the same problem. Enigmail worked fine in Feisty but doesn't remember any passphrases in Gutsy. I'm also using Thunderbird version 2.0.0.6 (20071022) with Enigmail version 0.95.5 (20071027). gpg seems to get called twice while signing an email, so I get asked for my passphrase twice for every one I send. [Bug 26338] Re: Adding a user to a group modifies other users' groups and passwords
Greetings yesterday after system disk failure, I reinstalled my Debian box. The default enviroment was gdm and gnome. So I proceeded to add some user-accounts. After this and closing the user administration tool rebooted the system to make a change in boot device priority, in bios screen. After this, and booting in debian, I noticed that there was a message saying chown: root/admin no souch group or something like this. This one followed by a ton of other messages about udev, groups and so on. Logging as the first user, created during installation, there was a message about the sound server that it was unable to initialize. I decided to reinstall. Succesfull install was followed by full install of kde. So I tried to add users with kusers. This time there was no problem. So I think this is a nasty bug in the user-administration tool of Gnome solely. In my system there are two disks. One is system disk and the second is home disk. I didn't tried to reproduce the problem, but if you want I can send you detailed system configuration. [Bug 32178] Re: Installer couldn't mount NTFS partitions.
Also experienced this bug, with the Alternate CD installer of Ubuntu 7.10. At first I thought maybe the NTFS filesystem was corrupted, so we did a defrag, clean up temporary files, and force CHKDSK, and retried the Ubuntu install, but with the same results. After about a dozen attempts with varies things, eventually I decided to say do not use this partition so we could continue with the installation. After the system was installed, I checked the blkid and added the appropriate line in /etc/fstab and it mounted fine, so it seems to be specific to how the installer uses it. [Bug 115616] Re: Device-mapper errors: dm-linear, lookup failed
In my opinion the only possibility is that these people have explicitly chosen to not remove obsolete software when asked by the installer. At least in my case this is simply not true. I did use update-manager and did agree to remove all absolute packages. There are other reports above which say the same. But the responsible people seem not to believe in this and continue to state that we must have done something wrong, because they can't reproduce the problem. ;-) It obviously does work in the standard test cases but it looks like that under certain circumstances evms does not get removed although it should. The common denominator _seems_ to be that all those systems started with an earlier version than feisty. -- Device-mapper errors: dm-linear, lookup failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115616 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 136582] Re: No loading text or usplash when loading
Well, when I posted on 2007-10-16 it was recent. I have not experienced this issue since this update to the Gutsy usplash package. I don't know if that was my solution or not, but IIRC there didn't seem to be any other packages updated at the same time which could have possibly effected this issue. Published in gutsy-release on 2007-10-15 usplash (0.5.7) gutsy; urgency=low * usplash_svga.c, usplash_svga_text(): When running in 16bpp mode, calling gl_setpixel() (which takes a palette index) does not make sense, since we never set a palette (this happens only in 8bpp modes). Use gl_setpixelrgb() in 16bpp mode and look up the RGB values from vesa_palette, which is initialized from the theme. This repairs operation on i386 and amd4 where SGVA is used, so that text appears in the color set by the theme, instead of being fixed to dark blue. [Bug 158259] wide windows have messed up window decoration
Public bug reported: When making windows wider than the screen width (usually twice or three times as wide), the top window decoration is not updated correctly. I've run into the bug only with the terminal, and only when ssh'd into another machine using that terminal. Steps to reproduce: (1) Start a new terminal window (2) ssh into an other machine (3) start emacs on the remote machine (4) move the window to the 95% off the left hand side of the screen, so only a thin sliver is visible. (5) using the window decorator, widen the window by dragging from the left hand side of the screen to the right (6) repeat (4) and (5) several times (7) the window decoration at the top of the new wide window should now be visibly corrupt Why do I want to do this? [Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted
I just had the same error while synchronizing my palm TX with freshly installed Gutsy. With Feisty I never experienced anything like this, and I changed nothing in the palm/desktop config.
