[Bug 258491] [NEW] link_all_deplibs=no patch no longer working well
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libtool It appears that the link_all_deplibs=no patch hasn't been correctly updated for libtool 2.2.x. The binaries in xapian-omega link against libxapian which has a dependency on libz, but the binaries don't require libz themselves. So to avoid explicitly linking with libz, xapian-omega's debian/rules runs autoreconf (which runs libtoolize) to pick up this patch. This works as expected with libtool 1.5.26-4, but with libtool 2.2.4-0ubuntu3 the link command run by libtool contains -lz (and so xapian-omega FTBFS since it doesn't have a build dependency on zlib1g-dev). The attached patch against ltmain.sh fixes this for me, but I'm not certain if it is the correct fix, or if it is, if more cases should be handled. I added echos to trace how deplibs changes through the execution of the libtool script, and it seems rather complicated. ** Affects: libtool (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- link_all_deplibs=no patch no longer working well https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

No, because laptop-mode is still disabled by default. [Bug 258510] [NEW] Default permission for subfolders on a mounted Nokia 6500 Classic USB disk is Access files
Public bug reported: When I plug in my Nokia 6500 Classic phone to be used as an USB storage device it automounts fine. But when I enter one of the subfolders of the device to paste a file the Paste option is disabled. I found out that entering a subfolder, right-clicking and choosing Properties and changing Folder access under the Permissions-tab to Create and delete files allows me to write files to this particular subfolder. This has to be repeated for every subfolder on the device that I wish to write to. It seems like it would be the most logical if the USB drive was mounted with Create and delete files enabled by default. Not all people would think to look under permissions, especially not if you're not used to Linux. It took me a while to figure out at least. [Bug 255076] Re: totem-gstreamer crashed with SIGSEGV in MPV_decode_mb()
trying to play this file with ffplay and a recent ffmpeg (3:0.svn20080206-9ubuntu2~ppa1) shows no problem with playback. I'm therefore inclined to mark this bug as 'fixreleased'. However I could also confirm playback distortion with totem. When trying it with totem, I was prompted to install the package 'gstreamer0.10 -fluendo-mpegdemux'. I therefore suspect that the mpegdemuxer does weird things, or totem is not using ffmpeg as expected here.
