The apparmour bit is probably a red herring. I reran the install and it went through this time, but still complained about the policy files. [Bug 320212] Re: cannot access samba share after mount.cifs
I tried with the version 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.5 of samba available in -proposed and the problem is still present. I tried with the Ubuntu Desktop 8.04.2 amd64 LiveCD and I get something different. After mounting the share, I'm able to ls or cd in the share directory without causing a crash or a segfault. I'm also able to unmount the share. But it is //ipadress/data/ that is mounted instead of //ipadress/data/Groupe. I can see the folder Groupe and other but these folders also contain another folder Groupe and the others (it should not). To reproduce: 1. Select a host or service with a character that requires URL-encoding (like a space). 2. Select one of the affected reports (i.e. 'View Trends for the Service') 3. Click Update. (Whether or not the parameters actually change is irrelevant.) 4. Nagios will report that you do not have the correct permissions to view that report. The reason Nagios reports this is because the service name or host name is being double url-encoded. For example, 'Check Load' becomes 'Check+Load' which turns into 'Check%2BLoad' on submit. Thanks. That worked for me also. The keys started working again and the brightness goes up and down. If I press it say 4 times, then it takes a while for it to process all 4 key presses unlike the volume meter which is very fast. But at least the brightness is working again with your xrandr command. I get this much less often now as long as I plug the USB Modem in before boot time. This seems to have fixed it for 99% of the time. Rolling back won't work. Once you update the system, you cannot fix it by switching kernels. The solution for me (documented above) was to unplug the USB multi-card reader thing from my computer. I logged a bug for Jaunty about this, then found a temporary fix at least. I found that If I searched the repositories using synaptic for all nvidia drivers I found many versions but I needed nvidia-glx-180-dev package. I installed it, ran the hardware driver gui again and bingo it loaded the correct driver up, and activated it. I presume that by the time April comes the GUI will simply find it in the repositories. (I don't know anything about the code running the GUI but maybe that's what will happen) so go have a look to see what Nvidia-glx versions you have and install the appropriate ones.
