[Bug 202208] Re: [Hardy] Playing OpenGL games causes a refresh rate error
@Joe, since the original reporter marked his bug invalid, you should probably file a new bug instead, if you can reproduce the problem on Karmic, since your environment is likely different from Pramod's. Please report it using 'ubuntu-bug xorg'. ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- [Hardy] Playing OpenGL games causes a refresh rate error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202208 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 228233] Re: All GL applications flicker when Compiz is being used
This bug looks like it's become a 'me-too' bug, since the original description was so vague that a lot of people with (likely unrelated) issues have piled onto it. Flickering with -nvidia is likely to be unrelated to issues with flickering with -fglrx. Both fglrx and nvidia also provide their own GL driver, not mesa, so this is misfiled anyway. ** Package changed: mesa (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- All GL applications flicker when Compiz is being used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228233 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 290506] Re: cheese malfunctioning with UVCVIDEO webcams (was cheese doesn't show v4l2 video output and disables output on gstreamer-based apps ran afterwards)
Okay, today i gave Fedora another try and Cheese also failed there. So it looks like this is a very unfortunate situation with my particular setup. My Webcam always needs a little longer to initialize when it is plugged in and no driver was previously loaded, but other applications have no problem with that. It might be a firmware bug or just the the way my cam is probed by cheese. I don't know. However, it is an issue and i can always reproduce by the following steps: - unplug the cam - sudo rmmod uvcvideo - plug the cam - start cheese 'cheese -v' doesn't show any errors because the probe fails gracefully after the 10 second period. uvcvideo trace logs don't show any errors because the driver is only waiting for the first data to arrive. So everything works as long as the camera initialization isn't interrupted - which is the case with my webcam and it's ridiculous 16 second init time. :) I realize that there is still some error elsewhere - maybe in cheese, gstreamer or the driver - but with no error messages in either the cheese logs, or the uvcvideo traces i am at the moment unable to debug this any further. I will do some more research though. Meanwhile, I would love to see the workaround in the attached patch ( 91_raise_timeout.patch ) included in cheese for karmic. It simply raises the probing timeout from 10 to 30 seconds. This patch should not affect working cameras. However, cameras with a probing time similar to mine ( >10sec. ) will have some more time to initialize and thus get detected correctly by cheese. ** Attachment added: "Raises the probing timeout of cheese to 30 seconds" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30654339/91_raise_timeout.patch -- cheese malfunctioning with UVCVIDEO webcams (was cheese doesn't show v4l2 video output and disables output on gstreamer-based apps ran afterwards) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 417051] Re: remove evolution dependency
We have already removed Evolution from the dependancy list for do-plugins. This is actually a problem with the distribution packagers. When building do-plugins it is possible to remove the plugins that require external libs (like evolution, the google plugins, etc), so we leave it up to the distro packagers to package these plugins separately. It might take a while for the packagers to do something about this, so in the meantime you can always build from source (it's not that complicated... really) and you won't be required to have evolution. Stop by #gnome-do on irc.freenode.net sometime if you need help obtaining / building the source. [Bug 409821] Re: Cairo-dock always displays empathy contact list in the windows list
With the debug output we can see that the window is minimized. Compiz effects confirm this behaviour: if I click on the button to minimise or to close empathy contacts list window (or on Empathy's icon on the systray) this window is minimised to the systray. But it seems that this window isn't destructed. So, Cairo-Dock thinks this window is minimised. We think this is the first app with this kind of problem. [Bug 145289] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in _mesa_update_state_locked() with DRI disabled
I see the upstream bug is sort of DOA (plus it's got a different backtrace than this one so isn't really relevant anyway), however in digging through the source code it appears the _mesa_update_framebuffer() function has been revamped a goodly bit since this trace was taken, so perhaps the issue has been fixed. There's been no other reports of this particular issue so hopefully that means this is a good assumption. ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in _mesa_update_state_locked() with DRI disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145289 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Bryce, Karmic doesn't seem to be stable enough for me to check it on my system, it never stayed up long enough for me to install the Myth frontend. Pedro; sorry i have not been on the site lately but here is an update..it seems that the issue with the dvd mounting resolved itself, or maybe it was an update or other package dependencies that helped, anyway some movies play with vlc and some with movie player, so when the need arises i can watch a dvd now.
