[Bug 211631] Re: Network is brought down before network filesystems are unmounted (CIFS timeout at shutdown)
This still occurs in the 9.10 beta. In fact, the upgrade has disabled the fix I'd put in, based on this bug, under 9.04. Sorry for the delay - day job intruded. The server event log has nothing near the time in question, and nothing I can relate to Access Denied. [Bug 442498] [NEW] karmic openldap cut-to-bone-and-beyond install, why ????
Public bug reported: It looks like the new openldap installation has it's default configuration so bare-bone that is COMPLETELY UNUSABLE out-of-the-box. The default backend dbd aren't even loaded, no schemas beyond core, no database. Now, add to that the fact that cn=config is a real pain in the ass to use, the end result is that the usability of the package has been greatly reduced (understatement of the year) Please, allow the users to choose through debconf is they do want a barebone configuration, or something that actually works after installing. Please keep in mind openldap is not only used by system administrators (whom, yes you'd expect would need to learn how to mess around with cn=config), but also by others, like developers for example, who need a work LDAP server, without losing hours getting it up and running. ** Affects: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- karmic openldap cut-to-bone-and-beyond install, why https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442498 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 442125] Re: Bacula daemons are not started during system boot
1. Is this reproducible? Yes, it is. 2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as detailed as possible. Well, this machine has been running Ubuntu and bacula for quite some time, so I can't be really sure that I'm not missing something. I can tell you that I deinstalled bacula-director-mysql bacula-director- common bacula-fd bacula-sd bacula-sd-mysql and removed the init scripts. Dunno why these were not deinstalled. They are considered part of the configuration, and I did not use --purge. Then, I installed those packages again and rebooted. No bacula process was started, but I must admit that bacula-sd and bacula-fd had no chance of being started because the installation did not install the start scripts. Probably again because I did not use --purge when I removed the packages. I'm sorry that I don't have the time to experiment some more. And I don't want to lose my bacula configuration. -- Bacula daemons are not started during system boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bacula in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 442598] [NEW] 'qemu-img snapshot' crashed, corrupting disk image
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: qemu-kvm I have a 10GB qcow2 disk image that I use for testing various things on a clean Jaunty install. I created it with the qemu package from Jaunty, and it has been working fine for some time. I recently upgraded to Karmic, and, after doing some work in the VM, attempting to snapshot the VM using 'qemu-img snapshot -c test jaunty.qcow2'. After a minute or so, qemu-img had grown to consume nearly all of my 2GB of RAM, and then, after another minute or two, terminated with a segfault. After this crash, all attempts to use the disk image, either via qemu-img or booting it in qemu or kvm have resulted in a segfault. I can generate core files of the later crashes, but since qemu uses most of my RAM before crashing, they are quite large (1.5+GB). Please let me know if extracting backtraces or other information would be useful, or if I should post a core image somewhere anyways for a developer to attempt to download it. Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. -This is a design decision. Not a papercut. [Bug 441962] [NEW] zenmap: inconsistency between suggested package and method used for su-to-root/gksu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nmap Menu launch of zenmap under zfce4 fails when suggested packages are installed due to inconsistency between suggestions and method for gaining root: package suggests 'gksu', menu entry tries su-to-root (provided by package 'menu').
