It also needs saner default logging levels. Everything is at Debug level by default and there is a fair amount of redundancy between cloud- output.log and cloud-debug.log. Setting importance to Low, since I assume this is a you don't act exactly like EC2 type of bugs. Please increase importance if key functionality relies on being able to crawl the metadata service like this. The importance of 'low' is fine as long as it doesn't mean this will never get fixed. I've considered changing ec2-init to crawl the metadata service early on and then make the data available in files in /var. This would be both faster and more secure. ok unfortunately I need to reply in German now. the problem is that NIS users can authenticate to a ltsp client but can't use usb sticks or any usb devices. it doesn't matter if it's ldm or gdm. in my opinion this is about group permissions. entries in the NSSWITCH file were not made use of.
