[Bug 621639] [NEW] Please include sasl support into KVM
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kvm Hi all, Please include sasl support into KVM. --snip-- Hi Dustin, sorry if I bother you, but could it be that kvm lacks sasl support for the vnc flag? I checked the debian/control file and saw that sasl was not included. Why? Without it, VNC only would work over x509, but there are nearly no vnc viewers that support x509. So I consider this a lack of security. I enabled vnc with: -vnc :1,sasl,acl The acl_show vnc.username says: unknown list Please, if this is a bug, can you rebuild kvm with sasl-support? Hi Christian, This may be an easy thing to fix, if the necessary build dependency is in the Ubuntu main archive (rather than universe). FWIW, qemu-kvm/configure suggests cyrus-sasl, which is in main. So, like Dustin said, please file a bug and we should be able to get that in lickity-split. thanks, -serge I see several sasl-related packages in the archive... Specifically which one are you requesting that we build qemu-kvm against? Sorry it took me so long to find this email...ideally, you'd file this as a wishlist bug against qemu-kvm in Launchpad.net, and I probably would have gotten to it by now :-) Thanks, -- :-Dustin --snap-- Thanks Christian ** Affects: kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Please include sasl support into KVM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/621639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to kvm in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 621639] Re: Please include sasl support into KVM
Hi Christian, thanks for the bug report! I think this looks like a reasonable request, but I have question... Is this a new build-time dependency, or just a run time dependency? ie, if you just 'sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm cyrus-sasl', and then run with vnc/sasl, does it work? If so, we can simply add a recommends on cyrus-sasl. Or, does qemu-kvm need to be rebuilt with some additional sasl library? If so, what is the exact library we need to compile against? For people updating AppArmor profiles, you can test the syntax of an apparmor profile by doing something like: $ apparmor_parser -S ./debian/apparmor-profile /dev/null If it comes back without error, the syntax is ok (though in the case of usr.sbin.mysqld, if you don't have mysql-server-5.1 installed, you will need to do 'sudo touch /etc/apparmor.d/local/usr.sbin.mysqld' since the profile includes that file). ** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Fix Committed ** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High -- Error in AppArmor rule for mysqld https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/622010 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-5.1 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 433355] Re: Down Arrow stops working when open a new terminal window
hello Gerardo Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 619268] Re: Scanned document has three images
I have downloaded the alpha 3 release of Ubuntu 10.10 (the desktop 64bit one). Using a live CD I managed to download xsane. I scanned a document with colour settings and I attach for you the result as colour scanning. I also tried to scan in black white mode and saved the result in a file. Unfortunately I cannot attach a second file. Though I saved the result in my computer (on the hard disk). The black white result does not differ very much from the colour one. [Bug 621595] [NEW] An empty window pops up with some worksheet modification related options
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm running Openoffice's Calc 3.2. in Xubuntu Lucid (10.4) I tried to rename, add or copy/move a worksheet without success, because after clicking the right mouse and choosing for instance rename, an empty window pops up. The change sheet's color and delete options, as well as other options not related with sheets work fine so far. I also use the Writer module, where I have not faced problems. I think that the problem started as I updated Xubuntu to Lucid 10.4. I have tried to install Openoffice again, but it did not help. In Ubuntu's forum's question # 120750 I was advised to reset Openoffice's settings and options by renaming the .openoffice.org folder in my home directory, but it did not help either. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- An empty window pops up with some worksheet modification related options https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/621595 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 621607] [NEW] compiz, artifacts in the panels
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz While compiz is enabled, the screen shows artifacts. It is not associated with the card or driver because a laptop (HP 6735s) with the ATI HD3200 is exactly the same. The desktop computer I'm using GeForce 9800 GT, in both cases, the desktop effects off solves the problem, below I put a link to an example of such an error. Sometimes it is much worse when the top panel can only see half of the clock icon / Lan / off switch. The problem is only with the panels. The windows behave normally. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4271271/screen_bug.png ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: compiz 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu15 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.41-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, ccp, move, resize, place, decoration, text, imgjpeg, gnomecompat, mousepoll, workarounds, regex, neg, vpswitch, session, svg, png, dbus, commands, animation, resizeinfo, wall, wobbly, expo, fade, scale, scaleaddon, ezoom, staticswitcher] Date: Sat Aug 21 08:44:10 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx - Release amd64 (20100429) MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
