[Bug 640121] Re: package dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.1 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
I'm encountering this problem when running apt-get upgrade. After the package dovecot-common 1:1.2.12-1ubuntu4 has its files replaced, I get a message stating that the ssl keys are already in place, and then the install freezes. I have to open another term, kill the running dpkg processes, run dpkg --configure -a to finish configuring the packages that managed to partially install, then invoke a separate apt-get install dovecot-imapd dovecot-common to get those to install properly, and then rerun apt-get upgrade to finish upgrading the remaining packages in the lot. Running a separate apt-get install on specifically on the dovecot packages does not duplicate the error, only running apt-get upgrade seems to duplicate the problem. -- package dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9-1ubuntu6.1 failed to install/upgrade: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640121 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dovecot in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 646468] Re: Apparmor deny when trying to use hugetlbfs
I read about how it unlinks after creation, so I think in general have just a commented line like this in /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/libvirt-qemu is ok: # Uncomment the following line to enable huge pages in your guests. # owner /dev/hugepages/libvirt/qemu/* rw, It would be better if libvirt could do this dynamically like it does with disks, etc (the SELinux driver may already do this). [Bug 621509] Re: mysqld randomly causes system to not respond to commands
Clint, I appreciate your assistance with this but I am sorry to say that I believe I've wasted your time. I did some intensive digging on this and discovered that all signs point to a hardware issue on one of the SCSI buses. MySQL appeared to be the trigger; with the most disk writes/reads. It looks as if a hard drive might be going south. I receive a fatal error message when attempting to run OpenBoot tests on the SCSI bus. Which, in retrospect, makes sense as to why occasionally I would experience a hardware hang on reboots every now and again as well as why a hard boot seems to be the only way to recover. Either way, my new system will be resolving these errors. Again, I appreciate your prompt responses and I apologize for wasting your time. [Bug 647358] [NEW] Maverick setup needs acpi=copy_dsdt on Toshiba Satellite C650D
Public bug reported: 10.10 Maverick Beta [25th September 2010] Booting from either Desktop or Alternative fails unless ACPI=off is specified. As per workaround at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/612341, enabling ACPI=copy_dsdt allows the Ethernet card to work as well. I assume some sort of blacklist is in place to determine which hardware should boot with ACPI=off or other options. A video of the symptoms (on Lucid) can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOTKbrPkd94 The problem is still present in Maverick. [Bug 633983] Re: can't boot Meerkat beta amd64 livecd on core 2 duo macbook
I can confirm this bug on Macbook 2,1 - I tried to boot latest Maverick daily live CD (64-bit amd64 iso) and it failed - rEFIt recognised it as 3 entries (Linux, Legacy OS, and some EFI64 entry). The first 2 result in a black screen with: -- 1. 2. Select CD-ROM Boot Type : --- The keyboard becomes unresponsive here and I can't go any further. The third option says that it can't find a proper EFI image and offers to go back to rEFIt. Similar bugs in Fedora/Red Hat: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527443 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540839 Also here you have some useful information on the same problem with booting 64-bit Windows Vista/7: http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-631814.html I don't think it is a bug with Linux - it's probably IsoLinux. ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #527443 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=527443 ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #540839 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540839 ** Also affects: casper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- can't boot Meerkat beta amd64 livecd on core 2 duo macbook https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633983 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 597070] Re: Imac Radeon HD 4850 switch Mini Display Port output during install resulting black screen
I've been suffering this problem on my new iMac 21.5 (11,2 i3, Radeon 4670). All linux live CDs would give black screen even though I could hear the disc loading up. I've got round the problem for my system by doing two things: 1 connecting an external monitor through the Mini Display port. 2 Using F6 on the grub boot menu to add options - radeon.modeset=0 nomodeset I don't know if the radeon modesetting works on the external monitor (LG1710, has worked OK on a Mac Mini but will test it on iMac) but it certainly doesn't work on the main monitor. I've only tried live CDs so far; in 'xrandr' the main monitor is identified as eDP-0 and it lists the full range of supported resolutions up to 1920x1080. -- Imac Radeon HD 4850 switch Mini Display Port output during install resulting black screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/597070 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 298203] Re: kaffeine only has audio for dvds
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 298203, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. ** Changed in: kaffeine (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- kaffeine only has audio for dvds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298203 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kaffeine in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
