Same problems after install of Maverick... Lights Out worked after installing java and re-installing lights out with Ubuntu Software Centre (and several other games came along with it). Complicated because java is now in the care of Oracle and they are Windows-centric on their java pages, however http://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_install.xml gives instructions (use self-extracting 20.2mb Not RPM). I created a java directory in my home directory (ie mkdir ~/java/) copied the downloaded file into there chmod +x ran it, but if you have multiple users you should probably put it in /usr (ie sudo mkdir /usr/java) and use sudo to run it. off topic - To get java applets in Firefox see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/manual-plugin-install-linux-136395.html, test the applet wait ... [Bug 586814] Re: custom (pgk) translations preempted by lang pack
Generally, language pack-delivered translations are pre-empted by packaged translations at run-time. That is, if you install a deb that has mo files, they install to /usr/share/locale/. mo files installed by lang packs go here: /usr/share/locale-lanpack/. (mo files are stripped from pkgs in main, so they don't land in the 'pkg' dir: /usr/share/locale/.) gettext (through a modification to glibc, I think) in Ubuntu looks in the pkg location first, then, if not found, falls back to the langpack location. This enables users to install customized or non-Ubuntu versions of packages that may have different strings and get the corresponding customized translations. While in the vast majority of cases, where no customized pkg is installed but just the from main is, the lang pack translations are used. (This is the mechanism OEM has relied upon for years.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/586814 Title: custom (pgk) translations preempted by lang pack -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: musescore After a lot of fiddling and searching, I have managed to get both MIDI input and output to work in Musescore, but not at the same time. [Bug 604872] Re: qemu-system-arm segfaults emulating versatile machine after running debootstrap --second-stage inside vm
I've now posted this patchset; it comes in 7 parts: http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77887/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77882/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77884/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77885/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77888/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77881/ http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77883/ An upstream qemu with those patches applied successfully runs the test case given in this bug. (it is patch 5/7 http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/77888/ in particular which is dealing with the specific case you've hit here, but I haven't tested with that patch alone.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604872 Title: qemu-system-arm segfaults emulating versatile machine after running debootstrap --second-stage inside vm -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Marking Invalid -- I know for a fact that some devices report garbage for signal strength. There may be other pieces missing, but I also know MM asks for strength regularly and NM-applet can display it (there are definitely code paths to set the right icons).
