[Bug 575191] Re: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works

2011-06-29 Thread kopolov
I am using Natty on both of my machine and this is very weird.
Simple-scan works on one of the machine, while it fails on the other machine
(exactly as specified in this bug).
If you need any further information (from both machine), I'll be happy to
assist.

[Bug 772222] Re: window decoration disappear

2011-06-29 Thread strav
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: compiz

  It started several days ago, I'm not doing anything special but after ~1 hour
of working window decorations disappear and don't want to return whatever I
do(except reboot). It's annoying.
  I'm almost sure that this bug was reported, but can't find it.
  I've found several bugs like mine, but they all are related to the older
versions of ubuntu. Also I saw that fixes were released there but on my natty
this bug is present.
  I'm adding the screenshot.

[Bug 801727]

2011-06-29 Thread Dave Martin
Created attachment 5824
possible fix

The attached patch hooks into mapping_state() to mark the alignment
requirement on the current output section whenever we start emitting
instructions.

It might be safer to make the alignment 4 for Thumb code as well as ARM
code; the current patch gives Thumb code an alignment of 2 bytes, based
on the principles that (a) this makes the current situation no worse,
and (b) all realistic situations where a Thumb code section requires
4-byte alignment will involve an explicit .align or literal pool
somewhere, so we don't need to worry.

[Bug 185600] Re: libreoffice repeatedly freezes after resuming laptop from sleep

2011-06-29 Thread Fiepel
Can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 11.04
NVidia driver 270.41.19
Compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110606-0ubuntu1~natty2
Libreoffice: 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5

I did not have this behavior prior to upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04. I
am not sure when exactly it started to occur. Maybe it has to do with
the NVidia drivers that I installed from NVIDIA directly?

[Bug 803299] [NEW] Roundcube logs a lot of 'PHP deprecated' messages

2011-06-29 Thread Brezhonneg
Public bug reported:

I Installed roundcube (0.5.3+dfsg-1) on oneiric.

Roundcube logs two errors for each and every page load or ajax call. At
the end of the day, this makes a huge log... I get the error messages in
syslog:

roundcube: PHP Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is
deprecated in /usr/share/php/MDB2.php on line 393
roundcube: PHP Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is
deprecated in /usr/share/php/MDB2.php on line 2647

In my case, the only problem is that it logs a lot of errors, but a very
similar bug was reported on debian with more serious issues:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=571702

Apparently, the problem would be fixed by upgrading the php-mdb2 package
(2.5.0b2-1 in the repository at the moment) to 2.5.0b3 available
upstream.

Roundcube is served by apache2 on my server. Note that I have
'error_reporting = E_ALL  ~E_DEPRECATED' in /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini
but that does not seem to be of any help.

** Affects: php-mdb2 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 575191] Re: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works

2011-06-29 Thread kopolov
I've just made some tests on the machine in which simple-scan is not working.
It looks to be irregular behavior.
The test goes like this:
Try to scan 1 - fail.
Start a new document, discard the previous.
Try to scan 2 - fail.
Start a new document, discard the previous.
Try to scan 3 - Success.
I think there is some sort of time race between the scanner and the application.
After several try-fail-new, simple-scan is able to scan.

Re: [Ubuntu-ha] [Bug 799711] Re: o2cb[11796]: ERROR: ocfs2_controld.pcmk did not come up

2011-06-29 Thread Ante Karamatić

 3. When you dpkg-reconfigure ocfs2-tools package, and after the output has
 finished showing, did you disable o2cb as showed in the HowTo? sudo
 update-rc.d o2cb disable
 - Yes, did that. Enabled the services to be loaded at boot time and answered
 all other questions accepting the defaults.

 4. When you use OCFS2 with pacemaker you *don't* have to create
 /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf. Please drop that file.
 - Did that too.

That's why it doesn't work. OCFS2 supports two cluster modes. One is
OCFS2 native, for which you have to enable o2cb service and
setup /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf. For this setup you don't need pacemaker.

Other mode is when you integrate OCFS2 with pacemaker. For that you have
to disable o2cb service in upstart, remove /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf and
setup OCFS2 within pacemaker.

If you removed /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf, but didn't integrate OCFS2 with
pacemaker, it won't work.

[Bug 798325] Re: Choose locations does not do anything

2011-06-29 Thread Romano Giannetti
@Jameel: I can confirm it. The window shows up and then disappear rapidly.
Running form command line
indicator-datetime-preferences do nothing, running it with sudo gives the
error:

** (indicator-datetime-preferences:25675): WARNING **: Could not connect
to geoname lookup server: Operation not supported

(maybe unrelated).

By adding the date/time using dconf-editor (for example, changing
locations to ['America/New_York New York', 'UTC'] do work.

BTW, I really loved the world clock we had before unity with the day-
night terminator. Is it possible to have it back? Thanks!

Well (launchpad should really permit editing comments) what I mean with
Running form command line

the setting dialog behaves exactly as when launched with the indicator menu.

Unfortunately I don't know exeactly when the porblem occur. Rather it is
because of an upgrade from Lucid to Natty or because of changes by the

[Bug 582809] Re: Synaptics Clickpad touchpad buttons are not working

2011-06-29 Thread Charlie Smith
@Mohegan

Running Linux Mint 11 (Katya). Followed your instructions in #190 (and
#208 to change to the latest patch.) The apt-get source commands were
not working For some weird reason, my sources.list file was missing the
source repositories, which I simply remedied by copying the the binary
sources for the Ubuntu packages on to a new line prefixed with 'deb-src'
instead of 'deb'. Now the touchpad works properly, left-click and right-
click, as well as disabling the pad with a double-tap on the LED.
Thanks, much appreciated!

[Bug 803331] [NEW] LDAP address book doesn't connect to LDAP server

2011-06-29 Thread Ole Wolf
Public bug reported:

When I add an LDAP address book, Evolution won't search the database.

I've entered the following information for the address book:

The Server field contains crtdir.certifikat.dk, and the port is 389.
I've specified an insecure connection and anonymous login. The login
field is left empty. In the details tab, the search base is c=DK, and
the search tree is specified as subtree. The search filter is left
empty.

The above LDAP server answers queries that are performed from the
command line; for example:

  ldapsearch -x -h crtdir.certifikat.dk -b c=DK mail=em...@addre.ss

will return its search results for the email address em...@addre.ss.

For debugging, I set up an LDAP server on my own computer to see if the
simple authentication (the -x switch) might be the culprit. However,
according to the LDAP debug log set to max debugging level, evolution
doesn't even connect to the LDAP server.

2011-06-29 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD) or
with your hardware. Please retry your installation with new media and
if it still fails I'd recommend testing your CD drive with other media.
In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation
media or hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and

[Bug 800666] Re: entire firefox window is a black rectangle

2011-06-29 Thread Chris Coulson
If you changed layers.acceleration.force-enabled, then this isn't a
bug. This is disabled because it doesn't work on all hardware, and
you're pretty much on your own if you go to about:config, accept the
warning and then change the value yourself (it's not exposed anywhere in
the UI)

[Bug 803333] [NEW] g-p-m doesn't show any icon in unity-2d

2011-06-29 Thread Steve Langasek
Public bug reported:

After upgrade to oneiric, I have no gnome-power-manager icon in the
panel when running unity-2d. This is inconvenient, I'd rather like to
know what my battery status is.

I've just found the following output from unity-2d-panel in the error
log, which probably explains:

unity-2d-panel: [WARNING] libindicator: Unable to load icon from file '.
GThemedIcon battery-full-symbolic gpm-battery-100 battery-full '
because: Failed to open file '. GThemedIcon battery-full-symbolic gpm-

I have checked this with midori 0.3.6, and the string reads Privatsphare (with

whereas Natty only has 0.3.2. Based on this, setting the ubuntu task as
Confirmed, adding an upstream task with Fix released, and the ubuntu task
should be set to Fix released when Oneiric comes out.

[Bug 803338] [NEW] installation crashed

2011-06-29 Thread NOS09
Public bug reported:

ubuntu 11.04 just doesn't get installed on my HDD. It works fine from my
thumb drive though but when i try to install it it crashes right after
formatting my partition when the 'coping files ..' begins !! further
more I thought maybe it would be the .iso file thats buggy, but I
downloaded it 5 times including - Ubuntu 11.04 Desktop.iso- 4 times,
Super OS (11.04) ... and I still can't get there !! I'm already running
ubuntu 10.10 and it works fine !

So i m going to download Kubuntu for this time - lets hope it works.

[Bug 803331] Re: LDAP address book doesn't connect to LDAP server

2011-06-29 Thread Ole Wolf
I've attempted to setup an LDAP address book on another Ubuntu computer
running Natty i386. Again, I can't connect to an LDAP server.

[Bug 761175] Re: apt-get purge has stopped working for removed packages

2011-06-29 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 244598 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244598

This bug was fixed in the package apt - 0.8.15ubuntu1

---
apt (0.8.15ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low

  * merged from debian-unstable, remainging changes:
- use ubuntu keyring and ubuntu archive keyring in apt-key
- run update-apt-xapian-index in apt.cron
- support apt-key net-update and verify keys against master-keyring
- run apt-key net-update in cron.daily
- different example sources.list

apt (0.8.15) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Julian Andres Klode ]
  * apt-pkg/depcache.cc:
- Really release action groups only once (Closes: #622744)
- Make purge work again for config-files (LP: #244598) (Closes: #150831)
  * apt-pkg/acquire-item.cc:
- Reject files known to be invalid (LP: #346386) (Closes: #627642)
  * debian/apt.cron.daily:
- Check power after wait, patch by manuel-soto (LP: #705269)
  * debian/control:
- Move ${shlibs:Depends} to Pre-Depends, as we do not want APT
  unpacked if a library is too old and thus break upgrades
  * doc/apt-key.8.xml:
- Document apt-key net-update (LP: #192810)

  [ Christian Perrier ]
  * Galician translation update (Miguel Anxo Bouzada). Closes: #626505
  * Italian translation update (Milo Casagrande). Closes: #627834
  * German documentation translation update (Chris Leick). Closes: #629949
  * Catalan translation update (Jordi Mallach). Closes: #630657

  [ David Kalnischkies ]
  * fix a bunch of cppcheck warnings/errors based on a patch by
Niels Thykier, thanks! (Closes: #622805)
  * apt-pkg/depcache.cc:
- really include 'rc' packages in the delete count by fixing a
  typo which exists since 1999 in the source… (LP: #761175)
- if critical or-group can't be satisfied, exit directly.
  * apt-pkg/acquire-method.cc:
- write directly to stdout instead of creating the message in
  memory first before writing to avoid hitting limits
- fix order of CurrentURI and UsedMirror in Status() and Log()
  * apt-pkg/orderlist.cc:
- let VisitRProvides report if the calls were successful
  * apt-pkg/deb/dpkgpm.cc:
- replace obsolete usleep with nanosleep
- remove invalid pkgcache.bin and rebuild it if possible
- log reinstall commands in history.log
  * debian/apt{,-utils}.symbols:
- update both experimental symbol-files to reflect 0.8.14 state
  * debian/rules:
- remove unused embedded jquery by doxygen from libapt-pkg-doc
  * cmdline/apt-mark.cc:
- reimplement apt-mark in c++
- provide a 'showmanual' command (Closes: #582791)
- provide a 'dpkg --set-selections' wrapper to set/release holds
  * cmdline/apt-get.cc:
- deprecate mostly undocumented 'markauto' in favor of 'apt-mark'
  * cmdline/apt-cache.cc:
- deprecate mostly undocumented 'showauto' in favor of 'apt-mark'
  * apt-pkg/pkgcache.cc:
- really ignore :arch in FindPkg() in non-multiarch environment
  * doc/po/de.po:
- undo the translation of the command 'dump' in manpage of apt-config
  as report by Burghard Grossmann on debian-l10n-german, thanks!
  * apt-pkg/deb/debmetaindex.cc:
- do not download TranslationIndex if no Translation-* will be
  downloaded later on anyway (Closes: #624218)
  * test/versions.lst:
- disable obscure version number tests with versions dpkg doesn't
  allow any more as they don't start with a number
  * apt-pkg/acquire-worker.cc:
- print filename in the unmatching size warning (Closes: #623137)
  * apt-pkg/acquire-item.cc:
- apply fix for poorly worded 'locate file' error message from
  Ben Finney, thanks! (Closes: #623171)
  * methods/http.cc:
- add config option to ignore a closed stdin to be able to easily
  use the method as a simple standalone downloader
- Location header in redirects should be absolute URI, but some
  servers just send an absolute path so still deal with it properly
- dequote URL taken from Location in redirects as we will otherwise
  quote an already quoted string in the request later (Closes: #602412)
  * apt-pkg/contrib/netrc.cc:
- replace non-posix gnu-extension strdupa with strdup
  * apt-pkg/packagemanager.cc:
- ensure for Multi-Arch:same packages that they are unpacked in
  lock step even in immediate configuration (Closes: #618288)
  * apt-pkg/init.cc:
- don't set deprecated APT::Acquire::Translation, thanks Jörg Sommer!
  * cmdline/apt-config.cc:
- show Acquire::Languages and APT::Architectures settings
  in 'dump' (Closes: 626739)
  * apt-pkg/orderlist.cc:
- ensure that an old version of a package with a provides can
  never satisfy a dependency of a newer version of this package

  [ Michael Vogt ]
  * methods/mirror.cc:
- ignore lines starting with # in the mirror file
- ignore non http urls in the mirrors
- append the dist (e.g. sid, wheezy) as a query string when
  asking for a suitable mirror
  * apt-pkg/deb/deblistparser.cc:
-
