This bug is caused by the fact that we have a treeview (which implements
its own scrollable interface) parented by a vbox itself parented by a
viewport. This combination seems to break the treeview keyboard
scrolling.

This widget arrangement was introduced to allow the appcount to be
displayed at the bottom of the listview.

This is a tricky bug to fix as it stands. My proposal is to move the
appcount into the header widget (the widget with the sort mode combobox)
beneath the categorisation label. This way we can simplify the widget
arrangement, in turn fixing this bug.

Moreover, while the appcount is probably not of huge interest to users,
I believe the appcount in the header, where it is always visible makes
more sense than hiding it at the bottom of a (potentially long) list.

I have linked a branch which demonstrates the proposal.

have the package somewhere already, download it from 
https://launchpad.net/~malteworld/+archive/xul-ext/+files/xul-ext-lightning-locale-pl_1.0%7Eb5-0ubuntu0%7Emalteworld4_all.deb
 first or look for it in your /var/apt/cache (or something like that). Could 
you do the same with 
xul-ext-lightning-locale-de_1.0~b5-0ubuntu0~malteworld4_all.deb for 
comparability, because that's the one I'm using?
Series and architecture shouldn't matter, because there's no native code in the 
localization packages.

Ah.  After watching the DBus traffic it seems that this is partially due
to the run-as-system-user patches.  colord uses PolicyKit to check the
user's authorisation, and PolicyKit doesn't allow an unpriviledged user
to check whether a non-self user has priviledges.  The error message
generated is:

GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.NotAuthorized: Only trusted
callers (e.g. uid 0) can use CheckAuthorization() for subjects belonging
to other identities'

This means that applications that try to register devices with colord
will fail, which is why the display and cups integration isn't working.

[Bug 838618] [NEW] Occasionally end up with no window controls for maximized windows

Quite frequently, Unity ends up in a state where I don't get any window
control buttons in the panel for maximized windows (the panel has the
appearance I would expect for a non-maximized window when my mouse
hovers over it). When this happens, the launcher button for the affected
application also becomes ineffective - eg, my screenshot shows this has
happened to Firefox, and clicking on the Firefox button in the launcher
doesn't do anything whilst it is in this state.

This seems to happen at random, to all applications. The only thing that
seems to fix it is restarting my session (restarting the affected
application doesn't work)

Problem seems to be solved for me: 
In compizconfig-settings-manager I had set in general options: virtual 
horizontal size (hsize) to 2, virtual vertical size (vsize) to 2 and number of 
desktops (number_of_desktops) to 4.
If I keep the first two statements, but set number of desktops to one, the 
behaviour seems to be fixed for me.

Can anyone elso confirm this?

Even if cacert.org cannot be installed by default, there should by an
end user application to manage the certificates so that they can easily
be made available all applications (or specific applications for bonus
points).

Currently one needs to import the certificate via Firefox, export them
to files and import them info evolution.  That's not feasible for the
average user.  What's even worse is that FF does not add the file
extensions that evolution expects.

Reporting from a ISO Testing Live session, this problem has been noticed with 
fresh installation.
Step to reproduce it:
- Boot in a live session
- Open firefox and maximixed it
- Minimize firefox with the buttons in the the top left corner
- The bar appear in a light gray without transparency
- If you open any other window and drag it the bar is refreshed in the normal 
appearance

Sometimes minimizing firefox it's possible to notice some gray glitches
in the top left corner. It looks like it's the shadow of from the title
bar not refreshed after the minimizing animation.

Hint: maybe hardware related. Bug reproduced with a Dell Inspiron 1520
(nVidia GeForce 8600M GT) and a desktop pc (GeForce 8600 GTS). Bug not
reproduced with Oneiric Alpha3

When update-manager finds that updates are ready to install, I click on 
Install updates button. However, in the window to authenticate for the update 
procedure I cannot enter my password. 
As the attached scresnshot shows, the password field is greyed out. 
The user I'm running the system with is able to sudo root, so running update 
manager like this:
sudo update-manager
so this can be used as a workaround.

Quite frequently after switching viewports with the keyboard, clicking
on a window doesn't seemt to focus it properly. Although I can interact
with the window in the usual way, it retains the appearance of an
unfocused window (eg, the cursor in gnome-terminal remains as the
steady, empty rectangle rather than the blinking, solid rectangle. Or
selected files in Nautilus don't have the normal highlight colour for a
focused window). This didn't seem to happen in Natty, but happens quite
randomly in Oneiric.

Focusing another window and then focusing back again seems to correct
it.

I had the same issue. In my case I got the could not update
ICEauthority error message at every logon.  After switching both the
server (/etc/exports) and client (/etc/auto.net) to NFSv4 the error

Good news, the Wubi install completed successfully. No glitches at all
other than the way ubiquity handles the reboot after selecting install
inside windows and clicking on continue. The photo attached in my
last post is of the screen following those steps.

Then the CD is not ejected and there is no prompt to remove CD or press
enter to reboot. I tried every key-combo I could imagine and the only
way to reboot was to use the reset button on the box.

The photo I'm including here is what happens with Natty, which then also
ejects the CD and instructs to press enter.

Does that make sense?

To be very clear the photo attached to comment #1 is that of Ubuntu
Oneiric 20110901-i386 (the broken behavior) where the disc is not
ejected and I couldn't reboot.

The photo attached to this comment is of Natty behavior which works
fine.

Hope that helps, not sure how we'd word this in the release notes for
Beta 1?

Okay, I tried test (r539), and trunk with those three lines added.  Same
behavior in both cases:  Pasting of python lines does not cause
sequential tabbing, but pasting of any commented line causes trailing
whitespace to be pasted in.

Public bug reported:

Trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 as only OS from USB stick on a new Dell
Latitude with Windows pre-installed.

Popup appears with instructions to file a bug, attaching /var/log/syslog and 
/var/log/partman.
Closing the box, Ubuntu appears to run normally (from USB stick?)

In addition to partman and syslog, I attach jockey.log, as it contains
tracebacks

I would really appreciate a shortcut to skip between misspelled words.
currently there are 2 ways of getting to a misspelled word when re-
reading, use the mouse, click, right click to fix/type to fix, or use
arrow keys (with possible ctrl for slightly quicker jumping). Wh I would
like to see, is a feature that maybe super + arrow takes you from
misspelled word to misspelled word, (middle points, so the menu key
works, thus making it quicker to skip through and fix spelling mistakes.

tilt-3,0 is staying pretty much where it is, it's working with the
current arrangements for Android branch.

tilt-3.0-nodspvideo1 is getting new work from TI for various things and
is used to generate tilt-linux-linaro-3.0 now.

If you just want the vanilla branch the tilt-3.0-nodspvideo1 is the best
idea at the moment.

Public bug reported:

system can't resume from suspend and hibernation.
While we press power button to wake it up, system won't be waked up and the 
caps locks will be blinking. A cold reboot is required to reset the system.

You can see this symptom in suspend every time, but I only saw once while doing 
the hibernation.
Something strange related to hibernation is that while system waked up from 
hibernation, the grub menu will be shown for selecting kernel(usually grub will 
hide it during waking up from the hibernation.
