[Bug 573919] Re: NIS-based autofs maps don't load on startup
It is really great that work is in progress I look forward to see this bug fixed in lucid/precise! I have a small comment though: in my case the autofs startup problem is unrelated to NIS, as I use LDAP. Out of desperation 1.5 years ago I also experimented with flat map files on local fs and even with that setup I encountered periodic problems with autofs startup at boot. Dear Clynt Byrum thank you very much for your expertise and suggestion about the bug. So it is more severe than I thought. No, I actually disagree with the debian sync of asterisk at this point of time. Between 1.8.4.4 and 1.8.9.0 / 1.8.10.0 there have been too many regressions. can you give some details on the regressions. Right, they are still open. 1.8.4.4 is a nice release, it has it's issues however for each release moving forward something new / different breaks. [Bug 950129] Re: sudo halt won't cause halt
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-18.29 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950129 Title: sudo halt won't cause halt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/950129/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 870404] Re: When navigating Dash by keyboard, sometimes titles with no function are incorrectly focused
I agree, there was a point when it was a bug and pressing down once did not indicate where the cursor is, but for a while now it has highlighted the Applications bar. The problem with your mockup comes in when you have multiple programs found that require to be expanded. You can't have the applications expand where files are, it must be kept separate. I have a very simple solution to this problem. Navigate application and file icons with the arrow keys and navigate to the title bars with TAB. It's already cycling through them when you hit tab, so why not just disable arrow keys from navigating to the title bars? So type f in the dash, whole bunch of apps, files and music comes up. one arrow key down takes you to the first found application, another down arrow takes you to the first found file, next down arrow takes you to the first found song. Similarly, typing f in the dash and then hitting TAB takes you to the applications title bar, pressing enter reveals more options, hitting arrow down takes you to the expanded list of found apps. Hitting tab again takes you to Files and again takes you to Music So NEVER navigate title bars with arrows and only navigate them with tab. Solves all issues as far as I can see and reduces tapping of keys. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/870404 Title: When navigating Dash by keyboard, sometimes titles with no function are incorrectly focused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/870404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 947443] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 1 desktop freezes
So here the result of my last post: Running now for the last 10h without problems or freezes. Summary: 11.10: Installer picked nouveau for nvidia graphic and worked (with problems mirroring external screens, but that's a different issue) installation of nvidia-common (to try the external screen thing) led to freeze of desktop within minutes (3D 2D). 12.04: Installer picked nvidia-common with the same result as above. Freeze of desktop within minutes (3D 2D). Removing nvidia-common and running nouveau helped against it. [Bug 939255] Re: unity (hud) should depend on appmenu dbus not indicator-appmenu.
Well I put indicator-appmenu back. (because I wanted to try out LIM, didn't work.) Instead of removing it again, I tried the menuproxy trick. Hud works now, if you could call it that. All it does is bring up options for the indicators. Despite me typing a direct command for the active app. (Gedit, tried a few commands.) I had to google how to use menuproxy, turns out you have to sudo su so you can enter a file in the xsession.d folder. I wouldn't call that a workable solution by any stretch of the imagination. I find the smug suggestion that that is the proper way to disable appmenu, offensive on so many levels. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939255 Title: unity (hud) should depend on appmenu dbus not indicator-appmenu.
