[Bug 960769] [NEW] screen output fails periodically when window is small
Public bug reported: running ubuntu precise $ apt-cache policy libvte9 libvte9: Installed: 1:0.28.2-3ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:0.28.2-3ubuntu1 I expect each command I type to output in libvte (. however, the output seems to pause, although it resumes immediately the next time I type something. so even typing a sentence, some keypresses are not reflected to the screen. also, the output of some commands is hidden. (until the next output) this problem only occurs when the terminal window is small. when I have the terminal window maximized, it never occurs. So it's like the post office holding some of my mail, until the next time i get a letter. Like they can't bother delivering every letter, only 95% of them, but they deliver all off them if I get mail delivered at regular intervals. ** Affects: vte (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960769 Title: screen output fails periodically when window is small To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vte/+bug/960769/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 960092] Re: Latest update renders system unbootable "error: no such partition"
Hmm. It seems to be triggered by having multiple disks in the host. My /dev/sda (which I don't boot off) has previously had a linux install on it, and I reused the disk by creating one big partition and formatting it for /home. I would never have wiped grub off the master boot record. So I'd suggest it's not that my grub was misconfigured, but merely that there was an old grub on the start of the disk in the mbr. I don't think this is an unreasonable or massively unusual situation these days as people re-use disks and move them about between machines. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960092 Title: Latest update renders system unbootable "error: no such partition" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/960092/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 955673] Re: Ubuntu One Contact Address Book does not migrate correctly
Can you clarify please how exactly you performed this "migration" to 12.04? If you upgrade to 12.04 using the update-manager, the related packages should appear under a heading of "No longer supported by Canonical" in a listing somewhere, and should give you the option to keep or remove them, assuming that they aren't simply just upgraded when doing the upgrade. If you're just installing over top of an existing install, then you will have to migrate some data manually. For example, Evolution is not the default mail client in 12.04 either. [Bug 959352] Re: Ephemeral containers have "/rootfs" prefix in /proc/self/maps entries
We are discovering that this, or something very similar to it, is serious. For our own use, at least, I'd raise this to high (we don't have privileges to do so). According to lsof, many, many processes (sshd, upstart, init, ntpd, etc., as well as processes we start directly such as xvfb-run and our own code are looking in the wrong place (/rootfs/...) for important and sometimes essential files, including /rootfs/dev/random, /rootfs/dev/null, /rootfs/lib/tls ... , /rootfs/lib/security... , /rootfs/lib/libdbus-1.so.3.4.0, /rootfs/lib/libcom_err.so.2.1, /rootfs/usr/lib/libkrb5.so.3.3, and so on. We could maybe make symlinks for /rootfs/usr, /rootfs/lib, and /rootfs/dev but that feels like we're going too far, and that we really ought to address this. I'm not sure where to look to fix this. Is there something else important we are missing from lxc-clone? Help would be very appreciated. Re: [Bug 958189] Re: Software Center locks up installs/uninstalls
Actually, I looked online for something to try and I found one that actually worked for me. Something about going to the update manager, then advanced, and resetting the defaults on the certificate keys. I dunno why, but that actually worked and I haven't had any other episodes lately. If it acts up again I'll be sure to send any logs to your team to see if it helps. Thanks again for the response. [Bug 959947] Re: BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at 35ee1000
Followed these instructions for Bug 956845 - "The latest v3.3 kernel is now available. Can you test this latest kernel, which is available from: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.3-precise/"; The "paging request" error message persists at boot-up, and VirtualBox now complains "kernel driver not installed" because of the new kernel and the fact that I blew away DKMS (see old notes).
