[Bug 980787] Re: openstack-dashboard breaks with option DEBUG =False in config file
This is a valid bug, but it's solely in the upstream package's apache configuration. Setting DEBUG=False turns off the development server's static media serving (as it should). That means any installation/deployment not for development needs a properly-configured webserver to serve the site and its static media. ** Changed in: horizon Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: horizon Assignee: (unassigned) = Gabriel Hurley (gabriel-hurley) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to horizon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980787 Title: openstack-dashboard breaks with option DEBUG =False in config file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/horizon/+bug/980787/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 97513] Re: Squid requires restart after Network Manager made connection to network
I can't confirm this. I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 oneiric with squid 2.7.STABLE9-4ubuntu4 and the bug is still there. I tried to start squid after networking by changing the start on line in /etc/init/squid.conf to start on (started networking) but that doesn't help. The cache.log still says: 2012/04/16 08:52:37| Warning: Could not find any nameservers. [Bug 974938] [NEW] Process gsettings prevents logging in
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When I try to login with my newly upgraded Ubuntu 12.04 (development branch), nothing happens. It just shows the same empty background that LightDm has. I have found one solution to get myself logged: If I go to virtual console and display what processes I have, there are about six processes, and one of them is gsettings. It does not consume any CPU resources, and when I kill it (with -3), the login process immediately continues and finally gets me logged in. To my knowledge, gsettings comes from package libglib2.0-bin and I have version 2.32.0-1ubuntu1 of it. How to reproduce: 1 Try to log in. 2 Wait for several minutes to be sure it is stuck 3 Go to virtual console and killall -3 gsettings 4 Logging in immediately continues and finally completes in few seconds Possible causes: 1 I'm using LDAP. My user information comes from LDAP-server, and this has caused lots of other logging problems, thanks to software developers not realizing the fact, that people use stuff like LDAP. 2 I had some problems when upgrading to 12.04, so that might have screwed things up. The funny thing is, that logging in works on my other PC, which has almost identical system and package configuration. [Bug 982822] [NEW] submenus don't render on first attempt
Public bug reported: My bookmarks are grouped in folders. *Sometimes*, chromium won't display the contents of such a subfolder (see attached screenshot). The contents are NOT shown, instead, only a (transparent!) box is rendered. Only the borders of the box are faintly visible. In my screenshot, you can see the box to the left of the entry Braunschweig. Moving the mouse pointer away (so the box closes) and back (the box reopens) allows the contents to be rendered (that's my workaround). While moving the mouse pointer away, I get to see the invisible contents of the menu for a split second. I tried to reproduce this with Firefox, but I didn't get this effect there, so I think it's a chromium issue. [Bug 982767] Re: aptdaemon crashes during update-manager run: Could not cancel transaction
Hi Steve, thanks very much for responding. Your questions demonstrate that I do not yet know how apport and LP match duplicates, and more, and I may be using some terms poorly. But how exactly did apport send you there? Apport popped up its window and asked me to file. I clicked 'Continue' on the local apport client, and it told me the bug was already reported, and opened bug 628104. I think the client-side duplicate checking matched it. There is no bug pattern in place for bug #628104 and never has been. I see I don't know the bug system well enough. It looks like it's matching the traceback, with the several lines of python error output, ending in AptDaemonError: org.debian.apt: Could not cancel transaction. I don't yet know the difference between that and a proper bug pattern, then. Nor did you file a new bug report and have it marked as a duplicate by the retracer. I did not, since I saw other users had done so, and the retracer had duped them back to 628104. I intended to file that bug, then I realized it had been done, as in comments 7 and 8, there: When the crach occured the system claimed it was already reported and opened this bug. I now manually uploaded it as Bug #915413 -- I had this crash occur in precise as well. Note that #915413 was marked as a duplicate of this bug. I tried to follow what the system wanted, and uploaded my crash file there. (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/99074345/_usr_bin_update- manager.1000.crash) Eventually, it seemed I had to try filing this bug, purposefully without the traceback, to make an open bug report. Did apport really send you there at all, or did you simply follow a link to that bug in your browser when offered as a possibly similar existing bug? Yes, apport sent me there directly, same as the user I quote above. I've seen the possibly similar screen, but apport did not have these questions in this case. The recent comments on 628104 look like they're generally coming straight via apport. The only new bug report filed against update-manager or aptdaemon showing this crash is bug #976889, which was filed a week ago. Ah, I can't see that one; don't know if it's private, or what. Rather than new reports, there are a number of users filing new comments on 628104, because apport and/or LP send them there. That's what I'm being dogged about here -- it appears users now can't file a new bug, if they follow apport. Nor open the old one So I've been trying to get human attention, in case it's needed. It has appeared, and it's only my best effort to understand, that new reports are falling into a little hole in the system. I'm rather sorry if I seem to come off as a crank. I've seen the new reports slowly accumulating on that bug, and wondered if it was my little user duty to do more. [Bug 980616] Re: Printing Deutsche Bahn ticket on Kyocera PS printer takes 5 minutes (regression to 11.10)
As there is no transparency, no shaded fills and no CIDFonts in this file, there is nothing which is really affected by changing the resolution for ps2write. Given the error observed above, I would guess this is another filter problem. If Felix can attach the PS from Till's test PDF, I can take a look, and create some tests to *possibly* help track down the problem. Also, can we confirm *exactly* the command line being used to drive Ghostscript in this case (sorry, but with all the changes recently, I've slightly lost track!). [Bug 945006] Re: Screen flickers heavily after upgrading to 12.04 beta 1
Hello same problem for me: my system is installed for years now. Dual screen LCD with 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82Q963/Q965 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) Early release of 12.04 beta was working fine. now entering Unity / Gnome3 the main monitor starts flickering (like a wrong horizontal refresh rate, changing when the mouse moves) gnome-fallback and KDE are working fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945006 Title: Screen flickers heavily after upgrading to 12.04 beta 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/945006/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
