[Bug 1085057] [NEW] lxc-clone of busybox lxc 440M instead 1.7M
Public bug reported: I am testing various lxc templates from Ubuntu 12.10, and noticed this: % lxc-create -t busybox -n bb00 % lxc-clone -o bb00 -n bb01 % du -sh /var/lib/lxc/bb?? 1.7M/var/lib/lxc/bb00 440M/var/lib/lxc/bb01 The problem is, that you copy /bin from bb00, which is ONE busybox with 281 hardlinks, once cloned to bb01, you copied all hardlinked busybox now individual files, blowing up from 1.7M to 440M. I think it relates that you use rsync in lxc-clone, which disregards hardlinks. ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1085057 Title: lxc-clone of busybox lxc 440M instead 1.7M To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1085057/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1078699] Re: winbind won't start at boot
Ok, first off, winbind.conf has this old relic start on start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE!=lo) stop on runlevel [!2345] This will start winbind as soon as *any* network interface is up, which is not what we want. The appropriate conditions are: start on runlevel [2345] stop on runlevel [^2345] This will make sure that winbind waits for all of the interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces to be up. Now, in the lsb-init script from Debian: # Should-Start: samba This means that winbind needs to ensure samba is started before it starts. Now, samba is broken up into smbd and nmbd in the Ubuntu packages. So the pre-start should really have this: if [ -f /etc/init/smbd.conf ] ; then start wait-for-state WAITER=winbind WAIT_FOR=smbd fi # repeat for nmbd However, its not entirely clear if any of this will actually solve the issue reported here. Nevertheless, its stuff that needs to happen. Diego, is there any way you can look through the logs on an affected system and find the error messages from winbind? Hi laurent, thanks for taking the time to file a bug report. Please make sure to *purge* all of the mariadb packages before trying to install mysql. The my.cnf file is owned by mariadb's common package, so when you install mysql-common, it tries to take over ownership of the file, and its already gone, so it assumes you *meant* to delete it. [Bug 1079747] Re: package sasl2-bin 2.1.25.dfsg1-5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
This doesn't make much sense, because /usr/lib/sasl2/berkeley_db.txt is owned by libsasl2-2, which is a dependency of sasl2-bin. So the fact that this file is missing is likely due to that file having been manually removed. [Bug 1082446]
When trying to verify this on Firefox 17.0.1 I noticed that after replacing the permissions.sqlite file in my profile folder I had 2 cookies listed under the Excetions category in Options-Privacy- History. One of them is schafmail.de and the other one is www.openstreetmap.org, even though I didn't accept the cookie and set the remember checkbox. Is that expected in any way? Moreover on Firefox 17 after replacing the permissions.sqlite file the only listed cookie is schafmail.de, on Firefox 17.0.1 I see 2 cookies (schafmail.de and www.openstreetmap.org) and on Firefox 16.02 I see 3 cookies listed under Exceptions (www.openstreetmap.org scheme:file and schafmail.de). (In reply to GreenRep from comment #30) Mounir: thank you very much for fixing! A question and I hope that is not too much dumbness on my side: The root problem is not fixed, is it? I mean: is it not possible to have permissions for files (and maybe ipv6 addresses) now (with the patch)? I guess that should be another bug then? Mounir filed bug 815640 for file permissions. If there's an issue with IPv6 addresses, that should be another bug too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082446 Title: Firefox 17.0 ignores cookie exceptions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1082446/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1082446]
(In reply to Simona B [QA] from comment #32) When trying to verify this on Firefox 17.0.1 I noticed that after replacing the permissions.sqlite file in my profile folder I had 2 cookies listed under the Excetions category in Options-Privacy- History. One of them is schafmail.de and the other one is www.openstreetmap.org, even though I didn't accept the cookie and set the remember checkbox. Is that expected in any way? Yes. The file contains a cookie permission for openstreetmap.org. Is there any reason for all the 3 different results when replacing the same permission.sqlite file? Yes. Since Firefox 17, we consider scheme:file as an invalid entry. Basically, the cookie permissions in the file are the following: schafmail.de scheme:file openstreetmap.org Firefox 16 reads, accepts and loads all of them (thus, three of them listed). Firefox 17.0.0 accepts schafmail.de but refuses scheme:file so stop reading the permissions, thus do not load openstreetmap.org Firefox 17.0.1 also refuses scheme:file but continue to read the file so openstreetmap.org is loaded. The behaviour you see seem fine to me.

Verified as fixed on Firefox 17.0.1 (on Ubuntu 12.10, Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 7) - cookies permissions persist across Firefox after restart - used the STR from Comment 13, both cookies (schafmail.de and www.openstreetmap.org) are listed under Cookies Exceptions in Options Privacy History. (In reply to Michael Lefevre from comment #31) Mounir filed bug 815640 for file permissions. If there's an issue with IPv6 addresses, that should be another bug too. Files: oops, sorry, had overlooked this. IPv6: I have read about problems, maybe just guesses, but see e.g. _ck_ in comment #15 . (In reply to Simona B [QA] from comment #32) Yes, that is all expected that way.
