[Bug 994779] Re: changing the IP address of the maas server requires a reinstall
I do no if this is the right answer to your question but I faced the same kind of problem : The MaaS web user interface became unrecheable after changing the IP address of my controller. The solution was to reconfigure a lot of MaaS related packages : dpkg --get-selections | grep maas Here is the output : maas install maas-cliinstall maas-cluster-controllerinstall maas-common install maas-region-controller install python-django-maas install python-maas-clientinstall python-maas-provisioningserver install I reconfigured the packages : $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure maas-region-controller $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure maas-cluster-controller $ sudo ... $ sudo reboot ... [Bug 1148898] [NEW] HP Pavilion g7 - brightness keys are erratic
Public bug reported: The brightness keys work with stock 12.04.2, however, they are erratic. For example, from full bright, I could hit the key several times and the screen will do nothing and then suddenly dim to almost the lower limit, while the indicator shows it slowly decreasing in brightness. Same for increasing brightness. There is no set pattern, sometimes nothing happens at all when using one key, until I hit the other to reverse what I just tried to do. [Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
same here on all my Ubuntu 12.10 machines. for now removed gvfs-fuse and installed cifs-utils, created entry in /etc/fstab like //192.168.30.1/filestore /media/shares/filestore cifs username=someuser,password=somepassword,_netdev 0 0 and works perfectly. Thanks Kanehekill for that one. I dumped Fedora off my new laptop due to this bug, my laptop is for office use and I only use Fedora for the office machines but I use Ubuntu at home (warm and friendly at home :-) So was much to my surprise to see the same bug in Ubuntu 12.10 As as been said many times already, this is a biggie for almost anyone. I couldn't even copy a small 100Mb folder containing 40 pictures from my file-server (Ubuntu 12.04 which works fine). [Bug 124440] Re: Ubuntu needs a way to set mouse scrolling speed
Last I checked, mouse scrolling came from discrete up/down button events (mouse buttons 4 and 5). So the configuration has to happen in the code that receives the button 4/5 events and translates them into actual scrolling. That is typically the toolkit so I have added another GTK task. However that won't resolve it for other toolkits like in Mozilla apps. They would have to be fixed separately :( A fix-all solution would be to abstract scrolling at a lower level so that X(input) just gave you scroll up/down by some amount. Only with a universal solution implemented in X could you configure scroll speed for all apps in one place. I do no if this is the right answer to your question but I faced the same kind of problem : The MaaS web user interface became unrecheable after changing the IP address of my controller. [Bug 1148823] Re: /home/user/.gvfs unreadable
I'm very confused now: after having installed the latest 3.8.0.11 kernel, and rebooted, that .gvfs file is now gone. So you seems right about a leftover pushed by the previous 3.8.0.10 kernel (i might say that file had not catched my attention before, probably due to its inexistance). Have tried to find something wrong logged, but nothing i can see. But /run/user/user/gvfs/ folder is empty: is it normal ? does its working like a tmp folder ?
