[Bug 1212455] Re: 8086:2562 Flash 11.2 content displays in shades of green and purple only, and in a horizontally compressed space
This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue, and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug. Please follow the instructions on the wiki page[0]. The first step is to email the appropriate mailing list. If no response is received, then a bug may be opened on bugzilla.kernel.org. I've the same issue on my HP4545s laptop (A4-4300M CPU). At boot time I get ... [drm:radeon_acpi_init] *ERROR* Cannot find a backlight controller ... then the computer boots and works just fine (except the brightness control is @ /sys/class/backlight/radeon_bl0/brightness, commonly unrecognizable by the software) but after resuming I have totally black screen. I can still ssh to it: it resumes normally - the only thing that goes wrong is the screen remains off. (It goes off as soon as the resume process begins). Kernels 3.9.X still have the issue. I'm not sure the absence of the ACPI-controllable brightness is relevant to the case. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034002 Title: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dri/+bug/1034002/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1092724] Re: xtables-addons-dkms 1.47.1-1: xtables-addons kernel module failed to build
Thanks for the info, jth. It is crazy for the repos associated with kernels 3.8.0 and above to still show xtables 1.47.1 as the latest version and available, when the package install scripts are explicitly written to fail their kernel version tests. Version 2.2 or above is the only xtables-addons which is compatible with these later kernels. The bzr source worked for me on two different systems, one with i386 kernels low-latency and generic, the other running a custom non-pae i386 kernel. However, I encountered a couple of issues along the way: 1. the common and dkms debs will not install and subsequently must be removed if the system does not already have the iptables-dev and dh- autoreconf packages installed. These ought to be specified in the deb pre-requisites. 2. the debs did not download and build the xt_geoip csv files automatically, so I had to run the command: sudo /usr/lib/xtables-addons/xt_geoip_dl 3. then the command: sudo /usr/lib/xtables-addons/xt_geoip_build -D /usr/share/xt_geoip *.csv .. failed until I set up my perl5 environment and installed the CPAN module Text::CSV_XS 4. finally, the build command failed until I created the target directory. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1092724 Title: xtables-addons-dkms 1.47.1-1: xtables-addons kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xtables-addons/+bug/1092724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1212736] [NEW] Touch screen: Right click should be emulated by long press, like under Android
Public bug reported: I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Twist convertible ultrabook (Intel Core i7). The tablet mode (touchscreen-only operation, keyboard folded away) get continuously working better. One important missing feature is an easy-to-do right click. The right- click emulation button in Onboard is a rather awkward solution, as Onboard only shows up when selecting a text input field. I suggest to emulate the right-click by a long press on the screen. It is done in Android this way, too, and works very well for me. [Bug 1210695] Re: Ubuntu upgrade 12.10-13.04: fails to reboot at the end
This is not just the one reboot just after the upgrade: it's almost every shutdown since I have upgraded. That is, shutdown ALMOST SYSTEMATICALLY fails. It definitely fails more than 50% of the times. It only succeeds from time to time. The symptoms are always the same: After the laptop's screen has already been turned off (not just gone black: turned off), cpu consumption goes a bit higher (I can tell because of the speed of the fan) but there is no disk activity, and the computer never turns off (or restarts in the case of a restart). This is a huge REGRESSION with respect to 12.10, where shutdown used to fail pretty often but not even closely this much; also, I'm not 100% sure but I think it used to hang before the screen got turned off. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1210695 Title: Ubuntu upgrade 12.10-13.04: fails to reboot at the end To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1210695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Chrome et al don't support XML 1.1. E.g. load data:text/xml,?xml version=1.1?/ and witness warning on line 1 at column 19: Unsupported version '1.1'. Re: [Bug 774542] Re: [ICH4 - Intel ICH6, playback] No sound at all
Thank you Mike, we have not given up and have about two dozen of these tablets nicely running Lubuntu Xubuntu (both are 12.x). I'll forward this to the team and we will try some of those settings. Just last night, the team was looking at alsamixer to make the 3 built-in microphones work. I am sure this will fix the issues and I hope the next time we build up one of these tablets (probably for 13.x) it will just work out of the box. [Bug 644898] Re: required kernel toshiba support not enabled
I've just attempted to use the 'raring' version of the toshiba-acpi-fix package from https://launchpad.net/~keks9n/+archive/main I was impressed to find that against one of the kernels in my Ubuntu Gnome Saucy (13.10) the kernel 3.9.0-7 the patched toshiba_acpi does indeed build and function, and although the hardware button doesn't work, I can turn on transflective mode from the command line with... sudo toshset -trmode on and back off with... sudo toshset -trmode off Sadly, with either of the 3.11 kernels (also installed) the build fails, and below is a typical error from the build process... [Bug 217300]
Created attachment 790711 Refreshed patch (In reply to jhorak from comment #109) Okay, it seems that we're moving in circles. Who's going to decide which approach to choice? I can implement storing password to system keyrings but I won't do this without clear statement from Mozilla what they would like more. I still prefer storing only master password because of loose coupling. I am also in favor of storing the master password in the keyring as it seems the less intrusive approach and the most likely to land soon. It might not be a perfect solution but it improves the usability of the master password a lot. Besides once the harness is in place it will be easier to change the behavior (to store a random password, add a salt or whatever else). The only thing that we might want to change compared with the existing patch (of which I'm reattaching a refreshed version again) is probably in the UI part where we probably want the option to be shown in the same dialog as the master password instead of on a separate pop-up. I've looked at the password manager log and it seems to me that Justin Dolske comes up often both as a contributor and a reviewer so I'm needinfo'ing him here as he's both a Firefox and Toolkit peer in the hope he's the right person to ask. Justin could you have a look at the approach we're taking here or point us to someone who could help out with this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217300 Title: Seahorse integration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/217300/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1197451] Re: Ubuntu fails to properly boot on Macbook Air 2013 6, 1 6, 2
Ok here is my experience with Ubuntu and Macbook Air 6,2.: Booting live USB: EFI: 12.04.2 - without problems EFI: 13.04 - without problems amd64+mac: 12.04.2 - cannot boot nor recognise Ubuntu USB installer amd64+mac: 13.04 - cannot boot nor recognise -||- with special patch mac_setup.sh from howto install ubuntu on macbookAir 4,2 (I can provide details) - booting without using efi is OK with 12.04.2 and 13.04, no difference if +mac version or not. (but keep in mind this bypass and do not use EFI standard way) Installation from live USB: 12.04.2 - impossible (freezes when installing grub - reboot is needed - installation is not sucsessfull) 13.04 - installation works Booting installed Ubuntu: 12.04.2 - impossible, because bug in installer (ubiquity?) 13.04 - without acpi=off option in grub - freeze when booting as aforesaid 13.04 - with acpi=off option - freeze when booting as aforesaid 13.04 - with nosmp option - freeze while booting with initramfs shell (saying something about it could not find SSD with UUID) 13.04 - with nosmp option + with change of root=/dev/sdaX - first boot usualy is without problems - next boots hangs with SAME settings (only updated but SAME kernel) at error: sparse file not allowed (not serious nor related bug) or Loading initial ramdisk screen (depending on whether you installed efi or no-efi way). Usage of vanilla - installed Ubuntu: 13.04 - with nosmp option + with change of root=/dev/sdaX - strange color gamut (16bit depth?) + non working wireless. - suspend-to-RAM works without problems. Wireless ( bcm4360 / 43a0 ): 13.04 - with nosmp option + with change of root=/dev/sdaX - installation of bcmwl-kernel-source from proposed to saucy results in: A) wireless works and can see SSID of networks (2,4GHz + 5 GHz) B) cannot keep connection for more than 3 or 4 seconds when is connected to wireless networks with wpa-psk or wpa 2. This may be what happened last time: a new kernel got installed, then I hibernated my machine and grub picked the new kernel. In Fedora, when you hibernate your system, on the next boot grub skips the menu and automatically boots the same kernel that was used before. [Bug 1062077] Re: [HP TouchSmart tm2-2010eg] Linux hangs with: [drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting
Just a quick report: I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04.2. I couldn't reproduce my bug on this system, everything looks fine. (However I installed it on an USB-Stick, not my actual hard drive but this shouldn't make any difference, I hope) However I used Kernel 3.5.0-23. But this bug was reported under Ubuntu 12.10, Kernel Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 It seems like something else is causing this bug? Since the bug isn't there on a higher Version. I'll now try Ubuntu 12.10 and look if the bug is reproduce able at the bare installation (without updates). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1062077 Title: [HP TouchSmart tm2-2010eg] Linux hangs with: [drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1062077/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have run the: alsamixer -c0 command nothing is muted. did something change in the upgrade? I did not have to go to bios to set up my sound in the previous release.
