[Bug 1258546] Re: Apache2 defaults to the wrong character set, it should be UTF-8

2013-12-09 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

I have checked both Precise and Trusty, and can find no "windows-1252"
default that you refer to. I used "wget -S" to see the headers returned
by the Apache server, and it did not specify a character set.

Could you please provide exact steps to reproduce this bug on a freshly
installed Ubuntu Server system, and detail what you are expecting and
what happens on your system instead? Please use "wget -S" or similar to
demonstrate that the problem is actually with Apache, and not with a
client, or the web page source or similar.

Without a test case, there isn't enough information here for a developer
to confirm this issue is a bug, or to begin working on it, so I am
marking this bug Incomplete for now.

If you can provide exact steps so that a developer can reproduce the
original problem, then please add them to this bug and change the status
back to New.

[Bug 1255583] Re: [MIR] Main inclusion request for bbswitch

2013-12-09 Thread Alberto Milone
This is solved now, as per the following changelog:

bbswitch (0.7-2ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

  * debian/control, debian/rules:
- Remove support for module-assistant so as to comply
with the requirements of the MIR.
  * debian/patches/01_add-support-for-Linux-3.13.patch:
- Add support for Linux 3.13. This is also backward
  compatible.

And here's the output of "check-mir":

Checking support status of build dependencies...

Checking support status of binary dependencies...
All dependencies are supported in main or restricted.

[Bug 1257973] Re: [Dell OptiPlex 745, AD1983]Regression: Input from Line-in / Mic can't be listened in the output anymore

2013-12-09 Thread Raymond
missing mixer_nid can be added using hint

https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound.git/plain/Documentation/sound/alsa
/HD-Audio.txt

Hint Strings

The codec parser have several switches and adjustment knobs for
matching better with the actual codec or device behavior. Many of
them can be adjusted dynamically via "hints" strings as mentioned in
the section above.

- mixer_nid (int): specifies the widget NID of the analog-loopback
  mixer

https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound.git/commit/sound/pci/hda/hda_generic.c?id=2ded3e5b61d61d0bc90bebb8004db6184c7db6eb

this patch won't fix your problem because it won't add "Line Playback
Volume" at node 0x13

[Bug 1229337] Re: system-config-printer.py crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_freeze_notify() on renaming a printer

2013-12-09 Thread Donarsson
It would be a syntax error afaik. There should be no whitespace between a
method name and the brackets.
So if you return immediately before the syntax error, it never fires.

2013-12-09 Thread Gizmo Chicken
Thanks Robert. Not sure if it helps, but I'll just add that the bug
occurs for me when using either an Nvidia GeForce GT610 or AMD Radeon
HD6670 video card. Also, the bug occurs for me when using either the
appropriate open source driver or the appropriate proprietary driver.
Also, I'll just add that this problem does NOT affect me in any
circumstances under 13.10.

[Bug 1259020] Re: Sort By Type not work on link file type

2013-12-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1259113] [NEW] Gedit Window Frozen

2013-12-09 Thread Eero Aaltonen
Public bug reported:

Initially symptom was that Gedit froze. However, right clicking to copy

window manager related.

next time. Only some applications are affected.

Fix committed does not mean its available. It just means it was added to
the git repo. If a kernel gets available there should be an automatic
release notice and the status changing to fix released.

[Bug 230102]

2013-12-09 Thread Denten
Using Iceweasel 24.1.0 and have "Warn me when closing multiple tabs"
selected in preferences. There is no warning when I C-q out firefox--
which usually happens by accident when I try to C-w to close the current
tab. I would very much expect the "warn me when closing multiple tabs"
to apply when I C-q.

When going to about:config in my configuration I see two booleans,
browser.showQuitWarning and browser.warnOnQuit. In my case,
.showQuitWarning is set to false while .warnOnQuit is set to true, and
the box is checked in preferences as I said.

Whatever your stance on this bug, this is a confusing situation. I would
like to have a single preference that would affect the close behavior
one way or another.

[Bug 230102]

2013-12-09 Thread Antoine-mechelynck-gmail
In reply to comment #181:
In SeaMonkey 2.24a1 (built on Gecko/Toolkit 27.0a1), when filtering
about:config on quit I see three possibly relevant booleans:
browser.showQuitDialog, browser.showQuitWarning and browser.warnOnQuit, all of
which I've set to true, for none of which it is the default. The fact that none
of these is the default means that it is possible that some of them are
obsolete. In addition, browser.tabs.warnOnClose is true (nondefault) and so is
browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOther (default). I have a lot of tabs, and hitting
Ctrl+Q, or "File→Quit", or "Help→Restart with Add-ons Disabled", or clicking
the Restart link-like widget in the add-ons manager, always give me an "Are you
sure?" dialog. I don't know from experience what the behaviour would be if I
had only one tab.

[Bug 1098334]

2013-12-09 Thread Harald Judt
With kernel-3.12.2 and current git, the situation now is much better.
The corruptions happen less often (still often enough to be noticed
though), and are usually confined to single characters, or only parts of
single characters. While I'm writing this, I can notice what appears to
be some slight corruption in the lines above which I've already written,
but they are always gone immediately. Maybe today's just a lucky day, or
the situation has improved.

What's more, the issue with the cursor not disappearing or not showing
that I mentioned in my previous post no longer exists, so SNA on this
gen4 is usable again.

[Bug 1258112] Re: Try calling unexisting functions on GtkDialog

2013-12-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
@Dylan: thanks for the comment, I'm not sure why apturl has been done
this way (maybe packagekit was not providing what was needed by then?).

I'm Ccing Michael, maybe he can provide some context/guidance there.

On how we fix the issue, I've no strong opinion, I would prefer avoiding
too much churn/rewrite in a LTS cycle (though it's still early and
apturl is relatively small so it should be ok to test it and find issues
before release)

2013-12-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. Blue is the color ubuntu-themes uses for
GtkInfoBar in question mode, it does seem weird indeed and we should
probably change it, not sure what to pick though

you can see the different mode in gtk3-demo, we use
- yellow for info
- orange for warning
- red for error
- blue for question

This package was not included in the Havana release of the packages; the
code is all in python-neutron so its possible to use the plugin by
creating the relevant configuration files and updating agent configs.

This will be included as the default for the icehouse release of the

[Bug 1259090] [NEW] Pidgin does not reconnect after sleep/suspend (stays in "Connecting" state)

2013-12-09 Thread kolen
Public bug reported:

Pidgin always don't reconnect after returning from sleep mode. It displays
"Available - Connecting" in status selector, but it never ends.
Selecting first "Offline" status, pressing Enter (to finish status change),
then "Available" again makes it connect correctly (always).

Noticed this even in Adium (but not 100% sure that it occurs always in
Adium, in Pidgin it occurs always), so maybe the problem is in
libpurple.

[Bug 1210077] Re: Screen freeze and gabled after resume from suspend

2013-12-09 Thread Yung Shen
Thanks Lauri Siltala for the additional information.

To Erno Kuusela,

I've reproduced the issue on one of the same hardware but with stable
Saucy, it was tested with development release.

And both with and without composite on got the same troubles.

Verifying by using xfce4:

killall xfwm4 && xfwm4 --compositor=off &

then suspend and resume, you will see the same result.
