[Bug 1249708] Re: Missing neutron-ovs-cleanup service
I think this tool needs to be run on l3 nodes and dhcp nodes. It should only be run when rebooting a node. And it should finish the cleaning before l3 agent or dhcp agent starts. In some environments, nova compute, l3 agent and dhcp agent are on the same node [1]. We need to make sure that the tool finishes the cleaning before nova compute starts. It's kind of complicated. That's why I don't like the idea that using a upstart/init job to do the cleaning. Maybe it's better that l3 agent and dhcp agent replug the ports themselves during starting. [Bug 1249708] Re: Missing neutron-ovs-cleanup service
I agree its complicated; I discussed with upstream PTL and its only needed for l3 and dhcp agents with the openvswitch plugin; the dhcp agent is also used by other plugins so the dependency on cleanup completing first needs to be soft (this can be done). My current thing is to add this to the neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent package, add conditional waits to the l3 and dhcp agent configurations and a hard wait for the neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent. We can also add the same soft wait to nova-compute if this is required - that creates tap devices as well so I think Jian is correct in #4. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to neutron in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1249708 Title: Missing neutron-ovs-cleanup service To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1249708/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1259950] [NEW] browsers are not responding-ghosting and hanging inoperational, then returning briefly
Public bug reported: Unpredictably my browsers will work, and then trouble may start. Mostly with Firefox (and Arora) where the browser window goes a dark ghostly shade, becoming dull but still visible. The browser then is inoperable and at some point then returns to full brightness, and will maybe accept a click or two before shadowing out again. This will happened repeatedly and last a long time. I have had to force quit the browser and restart, restore my tabs, and try to continue. This may need to be done several times before the service is operational again for a few hours. It is not my connection, since Chrome rarely has the problem, and run simultaneously means i'm forced to jump form one browser to the other. Thunderbird carries on working It is no specific tab to blame- I have checked that. Having tried to upgrade to 12.10 (from 12.04lts where this problem began)I still find the problem and I had managed all software updates prior to upgrading, and the problem is as bad. In fact I'm trying to restore a FF session now and for the first time it's proving really hard to get a response -There are script problems also eg Script: resource://gre/modules/XPIProvider.jsm - jar:file:///home/ap/.mozilla/firefox/5pt5d5rv.default/extensions/jid1-jcgokiiqyjo...@jetpack.xpi!/bootstrap.js - resource://gre/modules/commonjs/toolkit/loader.js - resource://gre/modules/commonjs/sdk/url.js:79 I fear it is still an issue with the NVidia graphic card GeForce 210/PCIe/SSE2 . [Bug 1259850] [NEW] KDE powermanagement crashes kernel
Public bug reported: I have a Dell Latitude D6510 running (K)ubuntu 13.10 with the current kernel (3.11.0-14). In KDE when I pull the power cord, the system instantly freezes - completely, leaving no helpful traces of the cause in syslog or pm-powersave.log. It does not happen w/o a running KDE session or when I switch to Unity or XFCE. Hence, I suspect KDE triggering the bug. Googling for power unplug crash linux kernel yields a bunch of somewhat similiar issues, but those all seem slightly diffrent from what I see. In fact, I have had the/an unplug crash issue before like a year or so ago. Somehow it vanished, and now it is back again, so this could be a kernel regression. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1259850 Title: KDE powermanagement crashes kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1259850/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you Frits... I will try it. I hope that in the next releases, of both Eclipse and Ubuntu, these problems will be fixed. (In reply to Frits Jalvingh from comment #85) (In reply to Francesco D\'Amore from comment #84) Unfortunatly there aren't JVM crash files available for logging. Well, I had that too; I managed to get proper jvm logfiles by using a start script instead of Eclipse's launcher. This at least produces the jvm logs again. In addition, for me Eclipse on Ubuntu 13.04 has been *rock solid*, both 4.2 and 4.3, no crashes *at all* with daily use for many hours a day (yes, lack of real life ;-) by doing the following: * Disable browser support by adding the -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=/dev/null -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla parameters to eclipse.ini * Apply the workaround for bug# 416869: sudo apt-get remove overlay-scrollbar With those things no crashes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968308 Title: Opening Eclipse workbench causes SIGSEGV To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/eclipse/+bug/968308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

(Cable works with Nexus 4 or another Android device.) The phone will give a signal that it is connected to the computer. 3. Try to open the phone in Nautilus. My desktop either freezes (cold boot) here or nautilus hangs (reboot). 3.a) If nautilus hangs: Open a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+T and kill nautilus with xkill. 3.b) If your desktop froze: Go to a virtual terminal with Ctrl+Alt+F1. 3.c) If you just get an error message: Open a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+T and go to step 4. 4. Execute 'mtp-detect' (from mtp-tools package) from terminal (either via Dektop or virtual terminal). If you get one of the following messages wait a few seconds and try again. $ mtp-detect Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.libmtp version: 1.1.6 Listing raw device(s) Device 0 (VID=0421 and PID=0661) is a Nokia Nokia Lumia WP8. Go to a virtual terminal and do 'sudo service lightdm restart'. Login again, you hear the phone reconnecting to your computer and should now be able to open your phone in nautilus seeing the phones internal storage and the SD card (if there is) als sub devices. 6. Unplug the phone from the computer and start with step 2 if you want to connect the phone again. ## Additional information $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 13.10 Release: 13.10 $ apt-cache policy gvfs gvfs-backends mtp-tools gvfs: Installed: 1.18.2-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.18.2-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.18.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages 100

[Bug 1259861] [NEW] 5-10 second delay in kernel boot
Public bug reported: In Trusty I see a big delay while the kernel boots that I did not see back in Precise. Some people have been experiencing this in Saucy too, so I don't know exactly when it started happening. Excerpt from dmesg: [3.740100] Switched to clocksource tsc [ 14.208118] PM: Hibernation image not present or could not be loaded. [ 14.208885] Freeing unused kernel memory: 864K (c19ac000 - c1a84000) The exact messages above don't matter, they are different on different boots or on different machines. It even happens with e.g. $ sudo kvm -m 768 -cdrom trusty-desktop-i386.iso My current kernel is Linux server 3.12.0-7-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Sun Dec 8 23:42:09 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux ...but the exact version, maybe from 3.8 to 3.12+, shouldn't matter, just run `dmesg` yourself and check if there's a big delay there. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1259861 Title: 5-10 second delay in kernel boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1259861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1156008] Re: Install the System step failed in Ubuntu Server
