[Bug 1277467] Re: dig 9.9.3 behave differently than previous version on SOA record
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. In your example, you haven't specified which server dig should query, and I can see that the responses have come from different servers. I don't see any documentation that states that server selection should be deterministic. It seems to me that in both cases dig is behaving as designed; it is the two different servers that are responding with two different responses in your case. I would expect the flags to also represent the difference in response from the different servers that you are querying. Marking as Incomplete, as I don't see a bug here. [Bug 1246236] Re: pxe boot from maas fails due to time out
Nobody has reported seeing this for a while. I looked at the code and it has a whole second timeout per packet. You would think that this is more than enough over a LAN segment. I also discovered that the tftp client can set its own timeouts (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2349). Given that you see it working from one client and not another, I am suspicious although there's nothing in the tcpdump that shows a timeout option getting set. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1181666] Re: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse from working
I'm having the same problem after upgrading from 13.04 with Gnome-Shell 3.8 to 13.10 with Gnome-Shell 3.10. I do not use Pidgin. In my experience, the problem is consistently reproducible when the Overview is exited by clicking on an application. When I select any running application on any Workspace, all applications fail to respond to any mouse input. If I, from the Overview, click to show the Desktop (thanks to the Show Desktop From Overview extension), then Alt-Tab to a running application on that Workspace, I don't encounter the issue. However, I have found one way to quickly recover which is to activate the Google Chrome browser (which I always have running) and switch tabs via the Ctrl+Pg[Up|Down] keyboard shortcut. I find that it usually takes a couple switches Up and Down, irrespective of which direction I go (i.e. I almost always must go both directions). I happen to have had these keyboard shortcuts bound to the left right tilt of my Logitech MX Revolution mouse wheel for quite a long time, even before the upgrade, using xbindkeys. I've performed some extensive testing and my conclusion is that the issue is somehow caused by Chrome, or perhaps the fact that Chrome is resident in memory, consuming 2.7 GB of RAM currently according to Chrome's own internal reporting. I've tried disabling all Gnome-Shell extensions which had no effect. I next tried disabling all Chrome extensions which had a small, but noticeable, effect. The only thing that seems to have dramatically abated the issue is not having Chrome loaded at all. Here are my system specs, in case it's relevant: Power: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS 730W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS CPU: AMD FX-8120 8-core 3.1 GHz CPU RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Display: Video: MSI R6570-MD2GD3/LP Radeon HD 6570 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Output: Insignia 42 LCD HDTV connected via VGA, running at 1920x1080 resolution (1080p) Storage: 1 x WDC WD10EZEX-00RKKA0 1.0 TB SATA HD used as OS / Home 4.5 TB BTRFS storage array comprised of: 2 x ST31500341AS 1.5 TB SATA HD 1 x ST31500541AS 1.5 TB SATA HD I think my video card is the weak point and that it needs to be upgraded. [Bug 1270571] Re: Systemsettings crash when interrupting kcm-language at loading
Yeah, it's a qapt bug, that I think I fixed for the next release. Alas, not quite sure when we are going to do the next release quick back story: to prevent the UI from blocking qapt started eventloop processing inside itself, which is sort of like multithreading except it's inside the same thread thus less prone to threading issues. however even without multiple threads it caues issues when an application is not prepared for this sort of behavior. in particular in the bug at hand due to the unblocked UI you were able to cause the quit signal (by closing the app) which caused a destruction while in fact the application was still constructing which is why it exploded. anyway, long story short we decided that this was nasty behavior and removed the unblocking which still seems to give resonable fast experience regardless. ** Package changed: kde-runtime (Ubuntu) = qapt (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: qapt (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270571 Title: Systemsettings crash when interrupting kcm-language at loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qapt/+bug/1270571/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1171316] Re: TypeError: add_info() takes 1 positional argument but 2 were given
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software package. Even though it may seems as an apport bug, the faulty code is located at /usr/share/apport/package-hooks/source_gnome-shell.py which should be reported against the gnome-shell-common package, however since the system reporting the error is using a gnome ppa, even that package may be provided by the ppa instead of the official repositories. If you are interested in learning more about software repositories, Ubuntu and apport hooks the following pages should be informative: 1. http://www.ubuntu.com/community/ubuntustory/components - information about Ubuntu repositories 2. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories - information regarding managing repositories. 3. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs/devweek0909/ApportPkgHooks ** Package changed: apport (Ubuntu) = ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1171316 Title: TypeError: add_info() takes 1 positional argument but 2 were given To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1171316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1278052] [NEW] Mounted partitons use the same launcher icon as the home folder
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 13.10. On my launcher I have an icon for my data partition and the default icon for my home folder. When I click on the partition icon, a nautilus window opens, showing the content of that partition (let's call it 'window A'). The problem is that 'window A' uses the home icon insted of the partition icon (i.e. the home icon is highlighted), so after you minimize 'window A' you'd have to click on the home icon to bring it up again, but of course this opens your home folder instead. Clicking on the partition icon does nothing, not even open a new partition window. The only way to bring 'window A' up again is using the scrollwheel, which is normally used to switch between different windows of the same application. I think that windows for partitions should use their own icons, so it would be easier to manage them and understand whether you have your home folder or your partition opened. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1278052 Title: Mounted partitons use the same launcher icon as the home folder To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1278052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Please sync ibus-qt 1.3.2-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped: * Merge from Debian unstable. (LP: #1277273) Remaining changes: - debian/rules: Set -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-DQT_NO_DEBUG_OUTPUT -DQT_NO_WARNING_OUTPUT to stop annoying debug output for every application. * debian/patches/upstream_DISPLAY_crash_fix.diff: - Dropped, fixed upstream. * No change rebuild against libicu52 * Add upstream_DISPLAY_crash_fix.diff preventing a crash when -display was passed but no DISPLAY environment variable is actually defined (LP: #927167) * Add upstream_DISPLAY_crash_fix.diff preventing a crash when -display was passed but no DISPLAY environment variable is actually defined (LP: #927167) * No-change rebuild against ibus 1.5 * Resynchronise with Debian. Remaining changes: - Set -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-DQT_NO_DEBUG_OUTPUT -DQT_NO_WARNING_OUTPUT to stop annoying debug output for every application. Debian has adopted our delta. Changelog entries since current trusty version 1.3.2-1ubuntu1: ibus-qt (1.3.2-2) unstable; urgency=medium * Remove recommends: qt4-qtconfig. Closes: #611190 * Quiet Qt via DEB_CFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND.
