[Bug 1310663] [NEW] Text input fields lost Emacs bindings
Public bug reported: Before today's full upgrade to 14.04, all the text input fields in the chromium browser responded to the basic Emacs navigation keys, such as ctrl-a (beginning of line), ctrl-e (end of line), ctrl-n (next line), ctrl-p (previous-line), ctrl-f (forward character), and ctrl-b (backward character). The fields these key bindings worked in include the awesome bar (i.e. url/search text field), and both single and multiline text input fields inside web pages (such as this one). Now, none of these keybindings work this way anymore. This is a severe productivity regression. This is despite the following facts: % gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme Emacs % gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-key-theme 'Emacs' and the fact that the keybindings still work in Firefox and other applications. [Bug 1306629] Re: [SRU] SDL_syswm.h can't find mir_toolkit/mir_client_library.h
A) Workaround is to add: -I/usr/include/mirclient -I/usr/include/mircommon to your compiler options. B) Something is still odd here. Mir support was enabled in SDL2. You now have to install libmirclient-dev and mircommon-dev and explicitly add includes to mir header files in your program in order to compile any SDL2 program, even if you don't use mir or have mir installed. Sure, Mir will be the default next release - but that's next release, and trusty was supposed to be an LTS release. It's like having to install java in order to compile anything that uses libc. (Hyperbole, but similar idea). Enabling Mir support is great, but requiring developers to explicitly include headers they don't know about and won't use seems odd. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1306629 Title: [SRU] SDL_syswm.h can't find mir_toolkit/mir_client_library.h To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1306629/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Windows XP ( which is no longer supported so you really should not be running or it will no doubt be compromised via unpatched security holes ) started its partition in sector 63, rather than at 1 MiB, as is the standard since Windows Vista. The same problem here, still. compiz: 0.9.11+14.04.20140409-0ubuntu1 unity: 7.2.0+14.04.20140416-0ubuntu1 If disabling Show live previews of windows in switcher in ccsm, minimize a window (let's say firefox or gedit), remaximize it. Then if I want to select text, I have to put the mouse pointer/the cursor one line above and several charactors left (compared to the real position I want) to do it. However, if enabling Show live previews of windows in switcher , then you cannot use the hot corner to Show Desktop (ccsm--General Options--Key bindings--Show Desktop). Set it to BottomLeft (any corner that's not conflict with other key bindings), with Show live previews of windows in switcher enabled, you can just use the hot corner to show desktop for once. Then if you check the Show Desktop setting in ccsm, it will be blank (not None but blank, nothing there). This problem started from 13.10 and continues now in 14.04... I am guessing that this merged menu was a change in gnome-shell that network-manager had to change to accommodate, and ubuntu updated gnome- shell but not network-manager. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308291 Title: network-manager icon is gone in 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1308291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have X.Org X Server 1.14.5 , and if I issue xrandr --output LVDS1 --scale 2x2 the screen scales correctly, but then the mouse is restricted to the (original 1x1 viewport) upper left quarter of the screen, making the scaling completely unuseful. On Apr 21, 2014 4:26 PM, bugzilla-dae...@freedesktop.org wrote: *Comment # 53 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39949#c53 on bug 39949 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39949 from Romano Giannetti romano.gianne...@gmail.com * Probably this bug has been marked invalid because there is a mix of two bugs here: one is related to panning (which I do not know if it's fixed or no), and the other one to mouse constraints when scaling. I have X.Org X Server 1.14.5 , and if I issue xrandr --output LVDS1 --scale 2x2 the screen scales correctly, but then the mouse is restricted to the (original 1x1 viewport) upper left quarter of the screen, making the scaling completely unuseful. It is quite easily reproducible. -- You are receiving this mail because: - You are on the CC list for the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/881046 Title: Panning in a virtual monitor is not possible after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/881046/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Changing the sed to 's/^[^ ]* [^ ]* \([2-4]..*\)).*$/\1/' gets you past that point, but then (on kubuntu 14.04) if you don't have the kernel sources in place you hit 1. [Bug 1310690] [NEW] Lock screen password field does not capture key press - password is disclosed in background application
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: The new lockscreen in Ubuntu 14.04 is really nice, however I noticed (by 2 times already) that the password field doesn't capture the key presses sometimes. Key presses are not registered by the field and it looks like it is frozen (except by the cursor blinking). What I had to do when this happened was to wait until the tentative expires (screen goes blank) and then try again - then it worked. However the application running in the foregroung (or background, if you consider the lockscreen is on top) received the key presses, i.e, my whole password - you can imagine the implications if it was a chat window. [Bug 1310303] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 does not recognize my FujiFilm FinePix S1600 camera any more
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.15 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance.
