[Bug 1304613] Re: nodes can't get out to the internet beyond the maas server by default
Jeff, Everyone's network setup can be different and MAAS tries not to be prescriptive at all but does assume that anyone setting this stuff up will know a bit about networks. If you are hiding your nodes from the internet behind your MAAS server then I don't think I'd say that MAAS is actively doing anything to harm you here, you just need to know to enable ip_forward and NAT. As I said in my first reply, I think MAAS can do a bit better at helping these simple seed cloud setups and encourage a scripted installation that will configure everything for you. This sort of thing would rarely get used on large installs though as most large users will be a bit more paranoid about explicitly configuring every tiny detail themselves. Many of them don't even want MAAS to manage DHCP. I'll amend the title of this bug now to reflect the fact that we want MAAS to do some scripted installation scenarios to cover common small use cases. Thanks for filing this! ** Summary changed: - nodes can't get out to the internet beyond the maas server by default + MAAS could be more helpful with scripted installation scenarios to cover common network setups ** Also affects: maas Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: maas Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: maas Importance: Undecided = Wishlist ** Changed in: maas (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304613 Title: MAAS could be more helpful with scripted installation scenarios to cover common network setups To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1304613/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1311476] [NEW] Upgrade to Trusty breaks 2560x1440 over DVI on intel haswell
Public bug reported: After upgrading to Trusty, my Dell U2711 won't run at its native 2560x1440. Instead, resolution is limited to 1920x1200. However, if I connect this monitor via displayport, it works fine; it also worked fine in 13.10. Some weird things: apparently, the driver thinks the DVI port is actually an HDMI port. I found bugs #859389 (old), #890088 (mint, nvidia not intel), and #980453 (also nvidia, also old) which also refer to false recognition as an HDMI port. I found a thread (in german) http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/2560x1440 -funktioniert-ploetzlich-nicht-mehr-d/ which sounds exactly like my problem. Attempting to force the resolution with xrandr didn't work (and resulted in some odd errors I can't interpret), but using the results of gtf 2560 1440 30.0 (i.e. 30fps not 60) at least temporarily worked, but the display (predictably) looks pretty laggy. I'm not sure what graphics driver is running (though I'm pretty sure it's the default for haswell) nor how to tell, but I'll reboot and generate a clean(ish) Xorg log and attach that. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: driver dvi graphics haswell xorg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311476 Title: Upgrade to Trusty breaks 2560x1440 over DVI on intel haswell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1311476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1311476] Re: Upgrade to Trusty breaks 2560x1440 over DVI on intel haswell
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: After upgrading to Trusty, my Dell U2711 won't run at its native 2560x1440. - I'm not sure what graphics driver is running (though I'm pretty sure - it's the default for haswell) nor how to tell, but I'll reboot and - generate a clean(ish) Xorg log and attach that. + I'm not sure what graphics driver is running (though I'm pretty sure it's the default for haswell) nor how to tell, but I'll reboot and generate a clean(ish) Xorg log and attach that. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: eamon 4063 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC1D0p: eamon 4063 F...m pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: eamon 4063 F pulseaudio + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=5b655402-10fe-491b-9452-910059fc3419 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-28 (176 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander - Release amd64 (20131016.1) + MachineType: To Be Filled By O.E.M. [Bug 1311497] [NEW] Restore function of generated snapshots does not work

@Tim, The patch may no longer valid as HP changes some of their BIOS behaviours for wireless hotkey. Do you have any problems other than wireless hotkey? [Bug 1310346] Re: jue, que, xue mapped to jiong, qiong, xiong in 14.04
I tested sunpinyin by fcitx and ibus. This bug appears in both input methods. So there may be no problem in the packages of fcitx and ibus. For sunpinyin-data, there's no differences among raring, saucy and trusty. This bug did not appear when I was in UBUNTU saucy, so I tried to use packages for saucy and tested. (sunpinyin-utils and libsunpinyin3) The result is that the bug is because of the package named 'libsunpinyin3'. I use all new packages except this 'libsunpinyin3'package. I use the libsunpinyin3_2.0.3+git20120607-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb instead. After this, sunpinyin is OK. So I think there may be some problems in the package 'libsunpinyin3', 'libsunpinyin3_2.0.3+git20130507-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310346 Title: jue, que, xue mapped to jiong, qiong, xiong in 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sunpinyin/+bug/1310346/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1311501] [NEW] [desktoptouch] Two finger gesture scrolls and zooms
Public bug reported: On Chromium 2 finger gesture zooms and scrolls and the result on the UI is confusing. When the user scrolls the page with 2 fingers and the distance between the fingers changes, then the zoom level changes. When the user wants to zoom with a 2 fingers pinch, the zoom level changes but the page moves too. TEST CASE: 1. Open an URL with enough content to reveal the vertical scrollbar 2. Do a 2 finger gesture with pinch and drag simultaneously ACTUAL RESULT: The content scrolls and zooms EXPECTED RESULT It does one or the other.
