[Bug 1400470] Re: cannot download photos using shotwell via usb
Confirmed, this happens with my phone (Nexus 5) on Ubuntu 14.04 / Mint 17.1. Shotwell 0.18.0 Workaround, from: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+question/157569 Shotwell is supposed to popup a dialog asking you to unmount, however there are cases where this doesn't work. You may have to unmount the camera in Nautilus before starting Shotwell. [Bug 1401789] Re: gramps package is missing dependencies
Thanks for reporting this. Just in case you are not aware, Gramps can work perfectly fine without these two optional dependencies. If you do not need to work with the metadata of media objects within Gramps, just place a tick in the GExiv2 warning that pops up and the message will not appear the next time you start Gramps. If you do not record the latitude and longitude for each place you enter in Gramps, and don't use the Geography view to see where each place is on a map, then you can do the same with the OsmGpsMap message. If you would like to work with media metadata within Gramps, just install the gir1.2-gexiv2-0.10 package. Unfortunately, if you would like to use the Geography View, it is not so easy. I am working on backporting the required package from the Ubuntu Development release (Vivid which will become 15.04): https://bugs.launchpad.net/utopic-backports/+bug/1388215 If you can't wait, you could try installing the relevant gir1.2-osmgpsmap-1.0 *.deb from vivid proposed: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/osm-gps-map Cheers, Ross ** Changed in: gramps (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401789 Title: gramps package is missing dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gramps/+bug/1401789/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1401943] Re: Kernel upgrade to 3.16.0-28 causes boot hang on my system
Hi Christopher, thanks for getting back to me. I have updated the BIOS - the output from 'sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date' is: 2104 08/13/2013 Apart from making it hard to get into the grub menu, the BIOS upgrade didn't seem to change much - I still end up with a kernel panic for kernel 3.16.0-28. HOWEVER, found that if I boot into 3.16.0-28 recovery mode, and then resume normal boot, then this kernel panic does not occur (however, graphics resolution is severely reduced). Attached is a new screenshot of the text output during boot when hung (this time after BIOS upgrade). ** Attachment added: IMG_20141213_094049.jpg https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1401943/+attachment/4280153/+files/IMG_20141213_094049.jpg ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401943 Title: Kernel upgrade to 3.16.0-28 causes boot hang on my system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1401943/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1397032] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad T540p] Intel Wireless Dual Band 7260AC fails to connect
Federico Sassi, if your routers broadcast on both n and g, you could just disable n on your laptop via setting the following in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf : options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 Also, the latest mainline kernel to test with is http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.18-vivid/ . ** Description changed: I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T540p and the wireless connection isn't working correctly. It will list the available networks but when trying to connect it will keep asking for the password or when it connects the connection will last only few seconds and the packet loss on a ping will be very high. I've followed bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1354975 in order to find a solution but without luck. I've tried to turn off power management, install latest kernel ( linux-image-3.17.0-031700-generic ) and related updated firmware according to http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi . Tried also the updated firmware for the older kernel and with the older kernel. I've tried also Ubuntu 14.10 with same results. I've tried to move closer to the router but with no change at all. [Bug 1401935] Re: Touchpad stops working after suspend
raggar, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly shown as: kernel-fixed-upstream-3.18 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: latest-bios-1.12 ** Description changed: - On a acer v3 371 the touchpad stops working after suspend. [Bug 1402172] [NEW] kernel 3.16.0-28-generic breaks Radeon HD 6310
Public bug reported: When applying the updates on my Ubuntu Utopic installation I received the new 3.16.0-28 kernel. The computer had no problems with the Utopic kernels before ( up to 3.16.0-26), but now it suddenly won't give any output (via HDMI) when booting. I don't get X, I don't get a splah and I can't switch with ctrl+alt+fX to one of the terminals. When booting with the older kernels or the latest (3.18.0) kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ no problem appears. I also reinstalled the 3.16.0-28 kernel image and reran update-initramfs, but the problem stays. So something explicitly in this kernel is creating this issue. [Bug 1277641] Re: German keyboard layout loses tilde dead key
+1 German (legacy) brings back the dead key function for now, but I agree with umehlig. A possible removal in the future should not happen, and shunting the dead key function to the legacy keyboard layout is not a nice solution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1277641 Title: German keyboard layout loses tilde dead key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1277641/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1401943] Re: Kernel upgrade to 3.16.0-28 causes boot hang on my system
Soren Mogensen, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ?
