[Bug 1409209] [NEW] After installing Lubuntu from USB stick, GRUB mistakenly lists Lubuntu as Ubuntu

2015-01-09 Thread Dave Kokandy
Public bug reported:

I installed Lubuntu 15.04 Vervet (Live image 2015-01-09) as a Manual
installation (choosing Something else...) to install the test Lubuntu
alongside a machine that already has Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Windows 7.

After installation, Lubuntu was mistakenly listed as Ubuntu in the
GRUB menu. The existing Ubuntu installation, which had formerly been
labeled as Ubuntu was now (accurately) labeled as Ubuntu 14.04.

[Bug 1409172] [NEW] Repeat in a sentence

2015-01-09 Thread themusicgod1
Public bug reported:

Section C.4.3 reads:

This can be seen from the fact that mainstream economics has, for most
of its history, effectively ignored the fact of oligopoly for most of
its history.

One of two things could be said about this sentence

1) It means for most of the history of mainstream economics, it ignores the
fact that throughout most of its history, oligopoly was present
2) It means for most of the history of mainstream economics, it ignores the
extant of oligopoly

This seems to be close enough that the sentence both fails to
distinguish between the two, and is unnecessarily complex.

Included: suggested patch to remedy.

[Bug 1057319] Re: Cant contect to text console of a vitual machine from Virt-Manager

2015-01-09 Thread Serge Hallyn
The patch appears to be this one:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=506198action=diff

which removes the error if 'not name'. However, that check is still
upstream:

https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/virt-
manager.git/tree/virtManager/serialcon.py

so I'm hesitant to apply it.

2015-01-09 Thread jondee
@jsalisbury am also testing for the past 7-8 hours now and so far has
been stable as well so thanks for the update! :)

I think it would be too early to declare this bug fixed yet though!
However, I recommend everyone gets this kernel (http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.19-rc3-vivid/) and joins in with the testing so
soon the devs be able to declare this bug fixed once and for all :)

[Bug 1367495] Re: Bridge still not created if bind9 is on

2015-01-09 Thread Serge Hallyn
note i don't think this is a dup of bug 1240757 as you had original
speculated, because you do not seem to have any bind9 or dnsmasq
listening on 10.0.3.1.

Please attach your /etc/default/lxc-net file. Your lxc-net.log file
showed an error opening /etc/lxc/dnsmasq.conf, but the line which would
set that configuration file is commented out in the shipped /etc/default

[Bug 1409200] [NEW] HWCursor artifacts on custom cursors using Intel driver

2015-01-09 Thread Raúl Arellano
Public bug reported:

In fresh install (even in live cd) when accessing some app / website
that use custom cursor, it wil artifact, the cursor turns to a box with
trailers pointers and diferent background.

Example: when visiting http://foro.elhacker.net (spanish forum)
http://postimg.org/image/wlza8fbvd/

Also happens when using VirtualBox with Windows (see Attachment)
http://postimg.org/image/8zzsr4cen/
(Virtual Machine downloaded from
https://www.modern.ie/es-es/virtualization-tools - Windows 7 with IE 9)

A workarround is disable HWCursor using xorg.conf or xorg.conf.d files.
But that wont let me do multiple monitor with two gpu's (discrete gpu
and intel igpu)

Hardware:
Asus P8H77-M PRO
Intel i5 2500

[Bug 1015165] Re: i2c i2c-4: sendbytes: NAK bailout.

2015-01-09 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
crtlbreak, thank you for your comment. So your issue may be dealt with as soon
as possible, and so your hardware may be tracked by having necessary debugging
information automatically attached, could you please file a new report with
Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into the default
Ubuntu repository kernel via:
ubuntu-bug linux

For more on why this is most helpful, please read the official Ubuntu
documentation from the respective Ubuntu developer groups, and triage teams:

[Bug 1405525] Re: database is locked error prevents Diodon from adding items to or clearing history

2015-01-09 Thread Oliver Sauder
zeitgeist-daemon shouldn't run twice and especially not as root so maybe
this is the problem.

I wonder though how this has happened that zeitgeist-daemon started as
root.

Could it be that you at one point opened a desktop session as root or
started a desktop application which potentially uses Zeitgeist with
sudo?

[Bug 1406925] Re: lxc-start fails due to insufficient permission for creating netdev

2015-01-09 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Certainly as root you
should be able to attach devices to lxcbr0.

Could you please

1. show the result of 'ifconfig -a' and 'brctl show'
2. do 'sudo lxc-start -n Ubuntu-12.04.5-i386 -f -l trace -o lxc.debug' and
attach lxc.debug here
3. try:
  sudo lxc-create -t download -n p1 -- -d ubuntu -r trusty -a i386
  sudo lxc-start -n p1
and let us know whether that succeeds.

[Bug 1409214] [NEW] aw, snap! page when YouTube player finishes

2015-01-09 Thread Moses Moore
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
 - # first make sure that this is a clean vanilla install
 - pkill -9 chromium-browser
 - mv ~/.config/chromium ~/.config/chromium.old
 - dpkg -P chromium-browser
 - apt-get clean
 - apt-get install chromium-browser
 - chromium-browser
 - # navigate to example video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSfOB8ANdWU

Expected behaviour:
 - song finishes, Youtube page waits for user input

Seen behaviour
 - song finishes, browser tab crashes with the aw, snap! message displayed

I've been able to do this repeatedly with the music video mentioned above. As
you can see from the steps to reproduce, there are no extentions and should be
no weird configurations interfering.
This problem appeared on or around january 8th, so may be a problem with a
dependent library that was updated this week.

[Bug 1409222] [NEW] kubuntu live desktop iso xorg crashes upon launching installer

2015-01-09 Thread gregrwm
Public bug reported:

sit down at certain computer that runs xubuntu and lubuntu ISOs just fine, but
crashes the kubuntu ISO.
download kubuntu 14.04.1 desktop iso.
boot it.
when the live desktop appears, switch to a virtual console.
type in ubuntu-bug xorg, without a CR, to be ready.
switch back to the live desktop.
launch the installer.
xorg crashes.
switch back to the virtual console. hit CR (thus launching ubuntu-bug). do
these several times, because there's no apparent response.
eventually the lockup dissolves, and i see the ubuntu-bug interaction, which
absorbed the extra CRs by repeating it's query about whether to send the report.
meanwhile xorg is relaunched into a login screen.
switch back to the virtual console. send the report. it's this one.

[Bug 1409210] [NEW] update manager crashes after a partial upgrade

2015-01-09 Thread Hiren Gandhi
Public bug reported:

I have Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 Alpha 1 installed on a Virtualbox environment.
I ran an update from the update manager, at first it says it couldnt get
update information. After clicking ok rather than Retry, I got a
message to do a partial upgrade. I went with the upgrade and restarted.
I ran the update manager once more to make sure all updates were gotten,
but it said could not get updates, I tried clicking retry and afterwards
it crashes everytime.

Not sure if its just a VM issue or if it is happening to some.

[Bug 1409192] [NEW] HP Stream touchpad mouse buttons not working correctly

2015-01-09 Thread Wayne
Public bug reported:

The buttons on my laptop touchpad are not functioning correctly under
Ubuntu 14.10.

The laptop is a HP Stream model 11-d008tu. The trackpad is all one
section and does not have separate visible mouse buttons. When running
Windows 8 clicking the bottom left section of the trackpad causes a left
click action, and clicking the bottom right section of the trackpad
causes a right click action.

Under Ubuntu the behaviour is as follows:

- An optical USB mouse plugged into the laptop works normally IF the trackpad
mouse buttons are never used.
- Clicking the left or right button sections of the trackpad does NOT result in
any left or right click action occurring (e.g. opening right click menu).
- After trying to perform a left or right button click using the button section
of the trackpad, any left or right click from the USB mouse does NOT work
anymore if clicking on an application window. They do however work if clicking
on the Unity launcher sidebar. This problem is fixed after a reboot.
- Using basic click touchpad gestures that are on the main section of the
trackpad work normally (i.e. single finger tap to left click, two finger tap to
right click, two finger drag to scroll).
- Other multitouch touchpad gestures do not work (e.g. 3-finger pinch or hold).

[Bug 683118] Re: i2c errors with af9015 / tda18271 (V4L DVB)

2015-01-09 Thread Thomas Mashos
We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that the MythTV developers have turned their efforts to
newer versions and and are no longer fixing bugs on this version of
MythTV.

The Mythbuntu team has builds of newer versions of MythTV available on a
PPA if you are interested in upgrading. Please follow the directions at
http://mythbuntu.org/repos to enable them. Please do not let the closing
of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any
other) problem occurs with the newer versions.

[Bug 1400411] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2015-01-09 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From shrey...@in.ibm.com 2015-01-10 03:01 EDT---
Testing fastsleep
-
With these patches cpuidle framework picks up fastsleep as one of the idle
states. You can observe the cpus entering fastsleep by checking
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuXX/cpuidle/state2/name. This should show FastSleep.
Then while system is idle check
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuXX/cpuidle/state2/time increment over time
This shows the amount of time a particular cpu was in fastsleep.

Testing Winkle
--
With these patches, offline cpus enter winkle. So test this by offlining and
onlining cpus.
ppc64_cpu --cores-on=1
ppc64_cpu --cores-on=X where X is the total number of cores available in the
machine.

[Bug 1409202] [NEW] seahorse authentication fail

2015-01-09 Thread esodan
Public bug reported:

For a long time now, I've receiving messages to authenticate my
installed gnome online accounts, but when I write my passwords it simple
don't recognize them, no matter how many times I write them correctly,
this could be related to seahorse refusing to authenticate as follows.

When I open seahorse and want to unlock Gnome 2 Key Storage, seahorse
refuse to authenticate my personal password. Simply there is no way to
unlock to add new keys.

I've installed Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 diary iso in a virtual machine. I
found this problem is not present on GNOME 3.14 and seahorse 3.14, I've
managed to unlock key store and import certificates.

[Bug 950494] Re: [Macbook Air 3,2] headset mic not recognized

2015-01-09 Thread chrisolof
Hello,

I'm running Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 on a new MacBookAir6,2 with the Cirrus
Logic CS4208 and would love to get the microphone part of the TRRS
connector working. Mac OS picks up and utilizes the TRRS headset mic
without issue so I know the hardware is a go.

Running sudo hda-jack-sense-test -a results in:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/bin/hda-jack-sense-test, line 47, in module
codec = HDACodec(cardindex, codecindex)

File /usr/share/snd-hda-tools/hda_proc.py, line 143, in wrongfile

ValueError: wrong proc file format (unknown dig1 bit 'KAE')

So not really sure where to go from here. I opened up hdajackretask to find
four pins:
Green Headphone
Pin ID: 0x10
Headphone

Internal Speaker
Pin ID: 0x12
Internal speaker

Pink Mic
Pin ID: 0x18
Not connected

Internal Mic
Pin ID: 0x1c
Internal mic

Unplugging and replugging the headset changes the Output device in sound
settings from Headphones to Speakers so that works, but nothing in the
input tab ever changes. It always lists two devices: Internal
Microphone and Microphone. Both of these seem to actually be the
internal microphone in the mac - either works without the headset
connected at all.

So I'm not really sure how to proceed from here, but I'd be happy to run
whatever diagnostic tests might prove useful and/or even contribute code
toward a fix - but I just have no idea where to start. Is it as simple
as just finding the right pin and telling the system to use it as a
microphone?

Hi,

everything on your system looks ok. Does 'sudo apt-get install -f'
still claim to have problems? Does 'cgm ping echo ok || echo false'
show 'ok' or 'false' ?

[Bug 565557] Re: MythTV incorrectly detects interlaced stream on progressive content

2015-01-09 Thread Thomas Mashos
We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that we have turned our efforts to a newer version. Could
you please verify if this issue still exists in the latest version?

Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

[Bug 1308105]

2015-01-09 Thread xdevnull
I've had this same problem which led me here, though I'm using a distro
and wasn't sure how to patch it. Someone for the distro used the first
patch and uploaded a new build. It solved my problem.

I'm using Manjaro .8.11 with kernel 3.18 on an Asus Chromebox M400

Here's a link to the forum post.

https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=19411.0

Thanks for the patch

[Bug 1409166] [NEW] Can't add monitor: GDBus.Error:org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gnome_2drr_2derror_2dquark.Code2: could not set the configuration for CRTC 65

2015-01-09 Thread Neal McBurnett
Public bug reported:

My Lenovo Thinkpad X230 Tablet laptop has a VGA and a DVI connector. I
had the VGA hooked up to a Viewsonic 1920x1080 monitor, positioned above
it. From Settings I tried to add a Samsung monitor to the right of the
Viewsonic, via a DVI-to-HDMI passive connector, and got this dialog box
when I hit Apply:

The selected configuration for displays could not be applied
could not set the configuration for CRTC 65

I clicked OK and got another dialog box:
   Failed to apply configuration: %s
   Can't add monitor:
GDBus.Error:org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gnome_2drr_2derror_2dquark.Code2:
could not set the configuration for CRTC 65

Previously it had worked to set up all three like this.

This is on Trusty 64-bit, up-to-date with upgrades.

This bug seems similar to #1304627, but it seemed cleanest to get all the right
information reported via ubuntu-bug.

[Bug 1409124] Re: BUG - Use of a Broken or Risky Cryptographic Algorithm - SymmetricBindingBuilder.java 753

2015-01-09 Thread Seth Arnold
I can't find any SymmetricBindingBuilder.java nor jar files in the
rampart source package; are you confident this is the correct package?

The description of librampart0 indicates it is to be used with Axis2/c
-- if you're performing audits, I suspect that would be a fruitful place
to start. I reported SSL vulnerabilities to them 1.5 years ago and never
got a response. I suspect security is not a top priority for these
projects.

Thanks

[Bug 1409047] [NEW] Bluetooth audio not working with Volvo multimedia

2015-01-09 Thread Jonas G. Drange
Public bug reported:

Calls work just fine, which is in the Telephone part of the car's UI.
When changing to Multimedia mode and pairing with a Nexus 4, no audio is
played, nor is any audio playable later through the phone's own speakers.

This is a 2012 Volvo S60 (Norwegian)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Pair with car multimedia system
2. Confirm that the car display shows Playing on Nexus 4 (or something to
that effect)
3. Play song

What I expected to happen:
Audio should have been played through the car's speakers

What happened instead:
No audio was played
Playing any audio, even after turning off bluetooth, does not work

Phone:
