[Bug 1430700] Re: Cannot set flight mode if the second slot is 3G and we have just one SIM in that slot
@Tony, sorry, the description was wrong, the error happens for vivid- proposed, not for RTM (it is a regression introduced by the arale changes). I was using RTM + ofonod compiled with latest main. I have changed the description with steps to reproduce it from the GUI and changing version to vivid-proposed. ** Description changed: Flight mode fails to be set if we have the 3G capabilities set for the second slot and we have just one SIM, which is inserted in the that slot. + + To reproduce it: + + Precondition: The 3G slot should be the first slot initially + + 1. Remove SIM from first slot, insert a SIM in the second slot + 2. Power on the phone + 3. Go to system settings - cellular + 4. Select 2G/3G (faster) for SIM 2. Spinner does not stop after more than 1 minute. + 5. Reboot the phone + 6. Set flight mode from the indicator. It will appear as set, but the indicator will still show the SIM as registered. + + The failure to set SIM 2 as 3G without rebooting and being unable to set + flight more are manifestations of the same ofono issue. To reproduce using scripts: cd /usr/share/ofono/scripts ./set-3g-slot /ril_1 * Reboot the phone (set 3G is failing in this case too, maybe it is related) cd /usr/share/ofono/scripts ./offline-modem /ril_0 (slot with no SIM) This happens for: $ system-image-cli -i current build number: 141 device name: krillin channel: ubuntu-touch/vivid-proposed last update: 2015-03-12 07:28:43 version version: 141 version ubuntu: 20150312 version device: 20150210-95b6a9f version custom: 20150312 ** Description changed: Flight mode fails to be set if we have the 3G capabilities set for the second slot and we have just one SIM, which is inserted in the that slot. [Bug 1430428] Re: kubuntu: fix live cd boot sequence
I downloaded http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/kubuntu/daily- live/20150311/vivid-desktop-amd64.iso and started it in QEMU. If I don't do anything in gfxboot, I end up with a Welcome dialog box that has Try Kubuntu and Install Kubuntu buttons. The former starts a working live session, I tried a few things from the K menu, and also started the installer. I also tried the Install Kubuntu button and that just continues with the installer. I then pressed a key at the first gfxboot screen (the keyboard == man one), and there are no other options related to a life session. I tried check disc for defects and that worked. Can you please be more specific what's broken here? This doesn't sound Critical to me? ** Changed in: sddm (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430428 Title: kubuntu: fix live cd boot sequence To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sddm/+bug/1430428/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1430700] Re: Cannot set flight mode if the second slot is 3G and we have just one SIM in that slot
@Tony, answering your questions 1. Setting the second slot as 3G under the conditions commented in the bug description gets stalled. No direct error shown in the log. The error is that we are waiting for a change in radio state that does never happen (second slot reports SIM_LOCKED_OR_ABSENT always). 2. The reboot was required because setting 3G does not finish 3. Yes, the modem without SIM cannot be offlined, for the same reason explained in point (1). /ril_0 is always the first slot to be offlined by urfkill, but the behaviour changes depending on whether it is the 3G slot or not. That is why that second slot is 3G is important. Note also that the commands send to offline one slot depend on whether both slots are on or just one is on. 4. No, no direct error shown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430700 Title: Cannot set flight mode if the second slot is 3G and we have just one SIM in that slot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1430700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1428486] Re: Only start rpc.statd if $NEED_STATD
@Didier: Yes, that's pretty much what I had in mind. Note that update- rc.d servicename enable|disable already does all that (upstart override, systemctl enable/disable, etc.), so we should just call that? I see the conffiles also have NEED_GSSD, should we handle it in a similar way? An empty value is auto, and both the upstart job (shell commands in gssd-mounting.conf) and rpc-gssd.service (ConditionPathExists=/etc/krb5.keytab) do that auto detection. But indeed we don't currently check this value in the systemd jobs; I wonder if we need to? (e. g. RHEL/Fedora just use these systemd units). I. e. isn't the job of an init system to figure that out for you? Steve, do you have an opinion on this? Do we need the ability to forcefully start gssd without krb, or forcefully suppress it with krb? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1428486 Title: Only start rpc.statd if $NEED_STATD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/1428486/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1431212] [NEW] Philips GoGear Vibe MP3 Player is not properly recoginized on Ubuntu 14.04
Public bug reported: I have a Philips GoGear Vibe Mp3 player that worked fine on Ubuntu 12.04. Recently, I installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (64 bits) on the same machine and my deviced didn't work properly anymore: when I open it, I see an icon named 'Internal Storage' inside. If I right-click outside the icon (but inside the GoGear Vibe folder) to see GoGear properties, Nautilus says it only has 1 element, with a size of 0 bytes. Also, if I ask for GoGear's permissions, Nautilus says they couldn't be determined. If I open 'Internal Storage', nautilus only shows an empty folder (no files inside, see the attached screenshots for details). On Ubuntu 12.04, I opened my device and all it's content was shown directly without any problem. Also, there wasn't any 'Internal Storage' icon. This is probably related to bug 1214765, bug 1397487, and question 228269. [Bug 1404468] Re: German neo2 keyboard layout: no ALT and SUPER keys
Actually this seems to affect every key that is not handled directly to the target application, but indirectly (through the window-manager?), e.g. also media buttons when the associated media application window is not focused. I also seem to have stumbled over a workaround somehow: I'm using Ubuntu Gnome here, and after installing kubuntu-desktop (during installation I selected lightdm, not gdm) and starting into KDE once (there the affected buttons didn't work either), on next login the login screen changed to KDE-style (where you can choose the UI type). [Bug 1429988] Re: Preview and photos are unfocused
there seems to be two issues: One is focus-mode getting stacked in auto mode and not returning back to continuous-picture mode. This could be reproduced by letting camera settle in continuous-picture mode, then tasking camera away and back, camera is restarted in auto mode. Not sure what is best way to reproduce but I was moving camera away while it was trying to refocus at this point and it'd get stacked in auto mode and never return to continuous-picture mode. Problem can be removed by simply tapping to screen to few objects to initialise auto focus to object and then moving camera around. It will usually go back to continuous-picture mode. Second bug which is described here is when auto detection of macro mode fails to recognise when macro mode should be switched off. camera will still focus correctly when doing closeups but will fail to focus to faraway pictures. I did not find consistent way to reproduce this or how to recover from that state. Sometimes tasking camera away and then resuming after some time does restores right state. How to get phone in that state is also not reliable, but at least once I got camera to that state by simply focusing (with tab) to close up objects and then trying far away object, and camera would be in macro mode and no matter what would not focus to infinity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1429988 Title: Preview and photos are unfocused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/camera-app/+bug/1429988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

With the increasing importance of security now in enterprise environments, scripted installations may be used to set up fully-encrypted desktop systems, which in the end need to be fed a custom password for full-disk encryption; by the end user or otherwise, which may need to explicitly not be scripted. + + [Test case] + Use the included preseed file: one could customize a CD to include it in preseed/. + 1 - Boot on the CD + 2 - Press F6 to see the full command-line + 3 - Edit the command-line to point to the custom preseed + 4 - Add only-ubiquity automatic-ubiquity to boot in the installer, set up for automatic install. + 5 - Start the system by hitting the Enter key. + + The installation should complete succesfully. Without the patch, it will + crash, and show an error message repeatedly. + + [Regression Potential] + This affects the encryption page of the installer only, so could cause issues in the rendering of that page, or cause properly-scripted encryption settings to be missing in case of a regression. + + --- + I was trying to preseed creating encrypted lvm for enabling unattended installation with ubiquity 2.18.8.2 (in trusty). The password has been preseeded. The installation fails before partitioning with a message box: Keyfile creation failed. An error occurred while creating the keyfile. [Bug 1429988] Re: Preview and photos are unfocused
To observe focus_mode do following: $ adb shell $ sudo /system/bin/logcat | grep focus-mode Tapping on the screen switched focus-mode to auto focus to defined coordinates When moving phone around, phone should default to focus-mode=continuous-picture This is not always done when resuming camera app. Again not same issue as one reported by John when phone would never focus and be stacked in macro mode. !! [Bug 1430700] Re: Cannot set flight mode if the second slot is 3G and we have just one SIM in that slot
The reason for the failure is that the radio state reported for the first slot is always SIM_LOCKED_OR_ABSENT: radio OFF state is only reported for the main (=3G) slot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430700 Title: Cannot set flight mode if the second slot is 3G and we have just one SIM in that slot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1430700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
