I downloaded http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/kubuntu/daily-
live/20150311/vivid-desktop-amd64.iso and started it in QEMU. If I don't
do anything in gfxboot, I end up with a "Welcome" dialog box that has
"Try Kubuntu" and "Install Kubuntu" buttons. The former starts a working
live session, I tried a few things from the K menu, and also started the
installer. I also tried the "Install Kubuntu" button and that just
continues with the installer.

I then pressed a key at the first gfxboot screen (the keyboard == man
one), and there are no other options related to a life session. I tried
"check disc for defects" and that worked.

Can you please be more specific what's broken here? This doesn't sound
"Critical" to me?
