Well, Andrzej, nice that it is fixed (or hopefully fixed). Nov 19, 2014 is now almost 4 months ago ... but I still encounter the problem in my Xubuntu 14.04 LTS ... [Bug 1431473] Re: kvm_intel (nested) module will not load [Input/output error]
Mirroring the feedback I got on the mailing list. Potentially we could add the missing bit to the required part of the 3.2 kvm-intel module. But then the comments about support and security make me wonder whether we really want to. There seems to be quite a bit of work to get even 3.13 (Trusty) into shape. Leave alone 3.2... Paolo Bonzini wrote: Because if we wanted to make 3.14 nested VMX stable-ish we would need several more, at least these: KVM: nVMX: fix lifetime issues for vmcs02 KVM: nVMX: clean up nested_release_vmcs12 and code around it KVM: nVMX: Rework interception of IRQs and NMIs KVM: nVMX: Do not inject NMI vmexits when L2 has a pending interrupt KVM: nVMX: Disable preemption while reading from shadow VMCS and for 3.13: KVM: nVMX: Leave VMX mode on clearing of feature control MSR There are also several L2-crash-L1 bugs too in Nadav Amit's patches. Basically, nested VMX was never considered stable-worthy. Perhaps that can change soon---but not retroactively. So I'd rather avoid giving false impressions of the stability of nVMX in 3.14. Even if we considered nVMX stable, I'd _really_ not want to consider the L1-L2 boundary a secure one for a longer time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1431473 Title: kvm_intel (nested) module will not load [Input/output error] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1431473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1433540] [NEW] dot crashes with assertion failed on graph with some combinations of duplicated edges

[Bug 1381625] Re: Adjust brightness to lowest value caused screen whole black
Hey, a small update. Lantern test v2 tests exactly what happens when brightness is set to 0. I have 10 samples so far and I will be able to analyze them today. My gut feeling is that acpi aka firmware control never tuns the backlight off entirely (so setting zero in userspace is safe) while raw control will just disable all light at the same level. I would suggest that for raw controls the bottom value should be 10% of max brightness. The actual value also depends on if the scale is linear or logarithmic which is on my TODO list to check in Lantern. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1381625 Title: Adjust brightness to lowest value caused screen whole black To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1381625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1433183] Re: Kernel oops when running devstack/stack.sh
Not noticed on other architectures as I am only testing against AArch64 at the moment. The failure was with the stock kernel that comes with the vivid cloud image (3.19.0-9-generic). I had been building and using 3.19.1 on Trusty (AArch64 again) for about 3 days and hadn't noticed the failure there, so I attempted to untar and build the kernel on vivid. The untar generated the same oops I saw with whatever devstack/stack.sh was doing at the time (which looked like pip install ...). devstack has been working very well for me on AArch64 - I have been running it daily for months, so yes it does work on earlier kernels. Some of the results are captured here: http://openstack.validation.linaro.org/dashboard/image-charts/tempest- measurements. This week has been the first time I have targeted vivid (and therefore 3.19.x). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1433183 Title: Kernel oops when running devstack/stack.sh To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1433183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1433183] Re: Kernel oops when running devstack/stack.sh
I have seen this oops twice; I didn't report the issue first time round as the machine I was using had been powered down and I was unable to collect any logs. I happened to notice the stacktrace in my serial console window so I tried again and saw the issue again (and raised this bug). However, I have tried to reproduce it again this morning but 2 stack/unstack.sh have completed successfully - where success means no kernel oops. Each installation of OpenStack is done from a freshly installed cloud image so perhaps there have been other changes in that image since Monday/Tuesday this week.

[Bug 1432459] Re: USB 3.0 automount after Power off driver/safely remove
公输目, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-3.XY-rcZ Where XY and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-3.XY-rcZ Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. [Bug 1433469] [NEW] zookeeper init script fails to stop service
Public bug reported: The init script in the zookeeperd package is not able to stop the service once started. This is because do_stop calls the is_running function, which will return and the remainder of the do_stop function is not executed (which does crucial start-stop-daemon invocation). Steps to repro: # Start zookeeper , then query to see it is running root@2d88cb921d2a:/# /etc/init.d/zookeeper status * zookeeper is running # Ensure that it is running... (snipped for brevity root@2d88cb921d2a:/# ps aux | grep zookeeper root 336 0.0 0.0 34048 8524 ?T07:43 0:00 zile /etc/init.d/zookeeper zookeep+ 357 0.1 0.8 4682800 106684 ? [Bug 1432882] Re: libclang1 has wrong standard include paths
This issue could be linked to this entry of the llvm libtooling FAQ: http://clang.llvm.org/docs/LibTooling.html#libtooling-builtin-includes Quoting: Clang tools need their builtin headers and search for them the same way Clang does. Thus, the default location to look for builtin headers is in a path $(dirname /path/to/tool)/../lib/clang/3.3/include relative to the tool binary. This works out-of-the-box for tools running from llvm’s toplevel binary directory after building clang-headers, or if the tool is running from the binary directory of a clang install next to the clang binary. I guess this could explain the ../lib/clang/3.4 in libclang. I have another machine running quantal, and on which I could install libclang1-3.3 and libclang1-3.4 from the llvm PPA (ppa:h-rayflood/llvm). Here too, the library search dirs start with the same ../lib/clang/, but these versions work perfectly. There must be something different in the way they are built, however from what I could gather this PPA is just taking the packages from Debian without modification: http://http.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/llvm-toolchain-3.4 I will try this approach in lucid, replacing the packages provided by Ubuntu and report back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1432882 Title: libclang1 has wrong standard include paths To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/llvm-toolchain-3.4/+bug/1432882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
